What a hassle and I'm sorry to hear that. Yeah I don't like the fact that DJI doesn't sign their drivers, but at the same time I've haven't run into many problems. This may be partially due to the fact that I'm running Windows 7 & 8 via Parallels on my Mac, but I wouldn't expect that to be better than running a native version of Windows. I was also running Windows 8 consumer preview so maybe that has something to do with it. Good luck.
It sucks that you have to install a completely new OS for the drivers to work, but I hope it does the trick! Also, I didn't realize Win8 was such a pain when it comes to unsigned drivers but will keep that in mind when I decide to upgrade. Thanks!
Cool. Let me know if you get an Open Pilot board. I've been wanting one for a while, but they're hard to get a hold of. The QAV500 looks cool. I just ordered the TBS Discovery so I can do some FPV without my props and landing gear showing up in the video.
Your English is quite good :) I was able to install these drivers with no problems in Windows 8 Consumer Preview, but as spikedThree pointed out it may be a lot harder, if not impossible in Windows 8 final release. Unfortunately I can't post links in the comments, but Google this: "DJI Software and Windows 8" and then look for the RC Groups link. There's a post with 11 steps to overcome this issue. Let me know if that works as I'd like to add it in my description above. Good luck!
If you can get past the driver nightmare I can tell you the Naza is one of the best controllers I've flown out-of-the-box. I believe you'll run into this problem when you're looking at other options. I say that because I just finished a build with the APM 2.5 with ArduCopter firmware and I was reading a few posts today with users complaining about drivers and Win 8. Just a heads up. Good luck with whatever you decide to do.
Hi Dennis , first thanks for the information and i have watched it a few times now. but it does not matter how many times i try to connect ,i still cant. i have right software loaded and the usb drivers from DJI website . this has been going on for a week now and all i get is a message saying device not connected. tried diffrent cables and so on.i live on the 3 floor and ready to throw it out the window ;-)) Now i noticed your windows runs in 32bit my windows 8 runs in 64bit .Do you know if this makes a diffrents? thanks Dave
+dsturner244 Dave I don't think the fact that you're 64 bit would be causing this problem. It's been so long since I messed with this but I'd recommend looking at your device settings on Win and see if the USB device shows up. If you don't see it listed then it's definitely a driver issue. If it is listed then perhaps your NAZA is bad? Also, I can't remember specifically how NAZA works, BUT I recall you needing to have it powered beyond the USB connection. So power it from your battery while you connect to it from your computer. If you've already done all this then maybe someone else can chime in and help out. Good luck.
Here's how to install it in Windows 10 and probably in 8.1 also using a work-around. Since DJI never updates their ancient software from 2012 you have to disable checking for Signed drivers in Windows. It took several tries but I finally got it to work. www.flitetest.com/articles/dji-naza-m-windows-10
I have the exact same problem. I'm using Parallels and I've setup and calibrated everything on the Mac. I swipe to PC and it doesn't see the Naza at all. The PC doesn't "see" the MC. This must be the issue you described as giving the PC control of the USB ports> How do I do that? Thanks.
I had a problem where the USB cable installed in the Phantom was bad. I opened the Phantom up and replaced their cable with a standard micro USB cable from a smart phone and got it working, updated, calibrated and flying great.
Got the same problem With my pc that dosent recognize the phantom. I have tried win 7 and 8 but still the same. Even tried the file found in faq at dji website and that dosent work either. So for me the phantom really sucks and im thinking about returning it.
I am getting rapid orange light on my naza lite(without GPS) when I connect it to the assistant. I actually skipped the whole driver installation process. So do you think this is my problem? Because I can't do stick calibration because of this.
I'm not sure what your specific problem is but you definitely want to get the drivers installed and it hooked up to your NAZA Assistant. This will let you check your stick calibration among other things.
Cheers, got all that done but cant get it to register my email and password so I cant use the software yet.. getting error code 0? Thanks to any help :)
i have a problem with my dji naza v2 and phantom ive tried many ways to make it work but my laptop wont recognize any of those could you tell me whats going on im using windows vista 32 bits
Cristi Rph Make sure you install the drivers if you haven't already. They're at the bottom of this page: www.dji.com/product/naza-m/download if you're still having problems check out www.garagepilots.com and post in the forums. We'll try and get you in the air.
Do you know if this is even possible through windows 10? I have tried everything in every order and the Naza-M program will not recognize my Phantom:/ Please if you have any advice I would really appreciate it!
+Midwest Quads Sorry, I don't have windows 10 so I can't say whether or not this is possible. Hopefully someone else in the community can chime in and let us know.
Good video. My problem was trying to use USB 3. Just couldn't get it to work, no matter what I tried, it connected first time on USB 2. I'm using Windows 8.1
Hello everyone, I have problem with my DJI Naza v2, then it can not be connected to my laptop (windows 10) I have installed the driver, but when I unplug the USB cable so shows that the driver is not instlerat, I've tried to Erase it and reinstall but it was still not! so I want to know what's wrong with it if there is anyone who can help me.
This won't work in Windows 10 even for newer devices like the Naza M V2 or the Phantom3 they are still selling. The only solution seems to be to use Windows 7 if you still have it.
There's a workaround though. Since DJI refuses to ever update their software and the USB driver from 2012 is not Signed while Win 10 requires all drivers to be Signed, you have to disable checking in Win 10 in order to load the driver. I had to try it several times and keep rebooting but finally got it to work. I asked DJI to update their ancient software but they said NO! I was thinking of buying a Phanom 3 but I certainly won't buy any DJI products now! I wonder why they are such jerks and refuse to provide any support for their products?
been trying to get my naza m lite working for 3 days now...tried everything on google and TH-cam, I am at wits end... back to kk2... was very much looking forwards to gps hold ect...but now I am a naza nazi....I will slate it any chance I get, I will advise friends not to buy it...I actually thru it in the bin I was that annoyed fuck the money...I wouldn't sell this junk to any 1
Sorry to hear that. It can be a serious pain to get up to speed but once you do I can tell you it's well worth it. If you're still interested in working through it check out www.garagepilots.com and post in the forums. Either myself or another member will be glad to try and help you out.
lol I feel like such a fool...it was my laptop all along...I was just angry as I had spent all day pulling my hair out... had my 1st naza flight today....beats kk2 by a longgggg way

Just curious if you had any luck getting your driver installed?
If you're on Windows make sure you have the USB driver installed. Also, do other USB devices work when you connect them?

excellent! Your the man. I had to go into device man. and locate the dji driver then reload.
Glad to hear it.

Thanks Dennis. I went to their site and got it sorted. Just had to add the Dji controller under the devices menu. Thanks again!
Every time I connect my Phantom to the USB port my computer keeps telling me that it is not recognized...Help!
I had a problem where the USB cable installed in the Phantom was bad. I opened the Phantom up and replaced their cable with a standard micro USB cable from a smart phone and got it working, updated, calibrated and flying great.
That's good stuff. Thanks for sharing!
I have 8 and it tells me it has the best driver for the USB but it does not recognize it will not update so no driver for the NAZA -mini. Any ideas

Even tried the file found in faq at dji website and that dosent work either.
So for me the phantom really sucks and im thinking about returning it.
Hey quick question when I go to download the driver it keeps giving me a error message?? Do you kno why that is?
+Joseph Aguilar Perhaps the server was down is my best guess? You tried again and getting the same results?

I hear you. I remember registration being a pain but finally got it to work. Don't give up and email DJI if you need to.
Cheers it worked fine 2 days later :)

how to get this work in wind 10
+John Risnes There have been so many guys having problems with Win10. See comments from Robert Small. Good luck and let us know what you find out.
I can click through command prompts that say "next". This video is useless. It doesn't work on windows 8.
