    I live 19 miles from George R Brown Convention Center and have attended the quilt show for years. The quilt show is still a lot smaller than pre-Covid, but is coming back slowly. It was larger than the year before.
    I wish next year you all you hang around for one day of the actual show for a meet and greet with those of us that use your fabric and follow you. It would be so nice to meet you.

    Chelsi…I am a anxiety ridden flyer. I had to take drugs to get through a flight. And I had to fly a couple of times per week. When I retired I told my husband I don’t have to fly again. I feel for you. But keep flying with white knuckles because there is so much to see and do in this country. God bless. Love your mom and you. Your fabrics are some of my favorites. They make me happy and I love your podcasts.

    I'm so glad my husband and I were able to meet you both at Quilt Market! We might be the new Colorado shop you mentioned and we just opened in June. I'm happy to be one of your "quiltie besties"!! We traded bracelets and Chelsi gave me a BFF one. Thank you for doing everything you do and supporting all of the shops. I can't wait to see what's next!

    Since it is the time of year when we think about all we are thankful for, I thought I should share that I have listened to your podcast from the very beginning, and I look forward to each episode. Despite Billy’s modesty about being self taught, it is very professionally done. His list of topics always amazes me and he’s great at asking follow up questions. The laid back family vibe is a bonus to all the quilting information and inspiration each episode provides. I also appreciate all of the tutorial videos Sherri and Chelsi create and put out into the quilting world. You are so talented and I’ve learned so much from you! Your fabric collections are so happy, and I fell in love with your very first collection, Bright Sun, and made a quilt with it! I’m thankful for each of you! Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

    The first time I visited Donna’s Quilt Shop in Kingman, Arizona back in 2018 and Donna (the shop owner) demonstrated a Quilter’s Select ruler and I was hooked. The only thing I suggest is to protect the backs if you store your rulers in a drawer or when transporting to/from class because the non-slip coating can scratch off. Otherwise they are amazing rulers.
    * One thing I kept looking for in the multiple Quilt Market videos I watched, including yours, was 2 color quilts. I am obsessed with simple two/three color quilts.

    Oh my gosh this flight story! Brings back terrible memories 😂 my husband and I were flying back to the states from Germany one time and I can still feel my stomach stop thinking about it. It was a double decker plane and Before we took off, someone came on and announced this would be the pilots first international flight…mistake number one was announcing this before we took off and not after we had safely landed. We make it all the way to Florida where a massive storm has us stalling over a different city. Then they announce we are low on gas because we have been circling for so long…..mistake number 2. So we will have to land and refuel. Before we can land, the same storm we are avoiding makes us drop just as you were describing! Like a roller coaster! I levitated. Drinks flew. People fell. Three times. I thought ok this is it! But as you see, we did make it to our airport and I am here to tell the tale. Everyone missed their connecting flights and the airline put us up in Orlando where my husband and I spent the day at Disney world before catching our new flight. Alls well that ends well!!

    Funny story about lefties: one of my coworkers is left handed, but she had to learn how to do a lot of things right handed including using scissors. She just looked so awkward using right handed scissors that I ordered a pair of lefties for her. She had to ask a friend to show her how to use them. She was so happy with it that she bought a pair to have at home.

    Speaking of patches, I buy an embroidered patch whenever I visit bird sanctuaries or parks that offer patches for sale. These patches are of birds or landmarks. They are beautiful. You appreciate embroidery when you get a nice collection of bird patches. I have a vest full of patches. I remember patches being cool on clothes. My worst turbulence experiences were flights into and out of Houston earlier this year. I watch the flight attendants to see if they are concerned. Our pilots warned us our flights were going to be bumpy. It was bumpy. Thankfully, everyone remained calm when the turbulence was bad. The flight attendants remained in their jump seats the entire flight into Houston. Once we arrived home over Michigan, the air was calm and we were home.

    Thank you for another awesome episode. My turbulence story. I was in the restroom when turbulence hit. We were being told to buckle up in our seats. 😮. I was trying to pull my pants up, but couldn’t because my body was just bouncing against the door. I was so fearful that I was going to pop the door open and fall out into the aisle with pants not quite on yet. 😂 so do I die from a falling plane or do I die of embarrassment. Hmmm. Well, neither happened and I live to tell a funny story.😅

    Quilter’s Select rotary cutter is fabulous. I thought it was going to feel heavy, but it is not. Great products. Alex Anderson is left handed so that is why lefties are so on her radar when it comes to Quilter’s Select.

    I laughed out loud when Chelsi said “and we bounced.” Lol😂 they literally bounced there on their flight.

  • @deniseg7340
    @deniseg7340 ปีที่แล้ว

    The Quilter's Select products all work together quilte nicely! The rulers don't slide, the yellow color helps to see on dark & light fabrics, and the measurements on the rulers match exactly to the measurements on the mat so you get really accurate cuts; the rotary cutter is heavy and you might think that would be a negative but it's not - it makes cutting easy because you don't have to put a lot of pressure onto the cutter.
    PSA - everyone should probably go replace their rotary blades after the podcast - we never seem to change them often enough lol - and boy, when you do, the rotary cutter slides right through the fabric with ease!

    I love Quilters Select rulers. Over the last few years I have purchased most of their rulers at the Houston Quilt Festival. I was skeptical of their rotary cutters at first but now I love them. If you like the 45mm then try the 60mm.
    Actually, Quilt Festival begins on Monday with classes for the general public. The classes go from Monday through Saturday. Then on Wednesday evening the quilt show and the vendor booths open, too. The Festival was twice as large as last year.

    My moment of a bad flight caused me to hv 2 busted eardrums. Like Chesi's flight, it was like a roller coaster. The baggage compartments overhead came open. Some baggage fell out. There were 3 different "drop downs in altitude" that both my eardrums ruptured due to pressure changes. Do not choose to fly since then.
