It is really a very precious rule. Usually, it takes tones of listening and imitating to come up closer to understanding how to deal with long vowels. The rule makes it much easier. Thank you!

This is incredible for someone like me with Spanish as a native language because we don't have long vowels and Im always unconsciously tempted to shorten my English vowels and at the end that means a half way vowel that doesn't sound right at all

      Hi Khalil,
Thank you for commenting straight away. I apologise, it seems I missed your question before. Do you mean when reading out loud, or when reading in silence to yourself? Even when I'm reading, I would not use a weak form of 'no'.
Here are 3 examples to exemplify the point - in all of them you would pronounce 'no' properly.
      'he said 'no''
      'there were no bags left'
      'it's not possible no'
      Cheers,
      Michael

    • @britishaccentmethod

Hi Kim, Good question. In this song, I think he doesn't pronounce the /d/ sound just to get a certain 'feel' in the song. In other songs he pronounces the 'd' sound, and there are no pronunciation rules relating to this!
