This is a hilarious video; I just had to smile from beginning to end! Yet, at the same time, this is the first time I have clearly understood the crucial point about stopping the breath before moving the tongue. So thank you very much, well done!
Hi Christine, you're welcome. I'm pleased they are helping you! Did you see the video I published yesterday on English rhythm and word stress? If you didn't, take a look at it here: th-cam.com/video/CLIRRK5B9LU/w-d-xo.html I think you'll like it! Michael
This nailed my ng pronunciation problem. Did my first book narration and made the STUPID mistake of completing all narration and then going back to editing. So all of my mouth clicks doing the ng sound, whistling s sounds etc are there for me to fix -throughout 17 hours of recordings. Now I am working on speaking correctly, among other things, and will never make the mistake of going so far before editing. After I get this down, the next step is to fix my whistling s.
A brilliant video tutorial, Michael! Thank you very much for giving a very careful attention to a lot of important details on how to produce this sound correctly. I especially appreciate you showing how the tongue, lips, and other speech organs are involved in making the sound. Kind regards from Belgium. ❤️
Wow really I don't know how to thank you our best tutor, your video solved my problem with this sound and made me able to pronounce it correctly and clearly , I'm really improving with you.
Just what I was looking for: someone who can show the exactly position of the tongue needed to pronounce the /ing/ sound, a frustrating nightmare for a Spanish native speaker like me
🙏 How captivating the tutorials are ! Everything is so strenuously explained. Sincere appreciation for your dedication and 'perfectionist' approach. Amazing ! You do deserve a lot of credit, Sir. Thank you vm. and keep going.... fm. Gods own Country.
I like your teaching style very. I have confused with the [æŋ] sound, such as in the word (rank). Because it seems that the sound of [æ] has been changed when combing with [ŋ]. I heard the pronunciation of rank in the Oxford Dictionary. The [æ] sound in the word (rank) sounds different from the [æ] sound in the word (back).
Hi Fab, good to hear from you. Do you know about the pronunciation course I'm creating? That's the best place to get feedback, because I'm teaching my students and then giving them feedback on their pronunciation in English. Here's a link to the page where you can get some more information: howtospeakenglishclearly.com/ If you need more information, let me know. It would be great to help you with your pronunciation! Thanks 😍😍😍😍😍
Your always welcome!
The fourth mistake is that they go "een" for "ing". But that is native English speakers from certain regions in the US.
