Appreciate the content. I noticed that the Audio Advice Home Theater Design tool doesn't currently support in-wall speaker setups. Is there a place to do that?
I’m expecting delivery of my Martin Logan LCR and surround speakers today. I start priming and painting tomorrow so speakers should be installed by Wednesday!!
This video is awesome…. Great job… I am renovating my home and I want to install 100% in wall and ceiling speakers for a 5.1.2. So can you give me an advice on the kind of speakers that will work perfectly for the Sony An1000 Amp and on a 20-25m2 space. Thanks again
Speakercraft has been selling ceiling-mounted woofers (and tweeters) that have been "aim-able" for around 15 years by now so it's good to see that B&W has caught up. I' have a number of B&W CCM65's that had the aim-able tweeters as long ago as 15 years.
Yes, the pivoting tweeter feature has been around for a long time but the speaker where all of the drivers are mounted at an angle is the relatively new one for Dolby Atmos and in ceiling LCR applications. We appreciate you watching!
I really like the Bowers Wilkins line of speakers featured in this video I’m just wondering what kind of receiver would I need to look at if I choose to go with this grade of speaker system?
Yes, those are fabulous speakers. We have many different types of receivers that would work well. It would be best if you reached out to our team at www.audioadvice.com to go over the options. Thank you for watching!
Thanks by your explanation. I’m building a new house and I’m leaving five speakers pre-wire on the roof, the builder never ask me if I want additional speakers in the walls. What do you recommend to me in this case, add pre-wire for two back sides and two front sides speakers? Or with 5 ceilings in enough the have a good sound
Yes, do the sides, then you can select the rear in ceiling speakers to be Atmos speakers. Make sure the front three speakers have an internal configuration that angles them down well. Thanks for watching
I am in the process of designing a HT system and I am considering an in wall setup mainly due to budgetary reasons. Planning on using Klipsch 3 DS250w as LCR, 2 CS 16w as surround and 2 CS 16c as height channels and a sub I have not decided. My question is, to what level would such a setup be able to replicate the traditional system experience? Am I better of going with an entry level traditional system?
Those are decent speakers, but as a general rule, in this price range, if you can fit physical speakers, you will get a better value, although many people are limited to in wall or ceiling for the surround and height channels. Thanks for watching
I am doing a 5.1.2 system so I will have the Atmos speakers close to my sitting position to the left and right of a three-person couch, in line with the front left and right. But in my .2 case should I have the speakers angled in towards me or should they be firing straight down to the left and right of the three-person couch. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Cheers
@@AudioAdvice Thanks very much for the reply it's about 1300mm or in your funny measurements 😂 4.2 FT either side of me. It will be a B&W set you can angel so I will do that or at least the tweeter. Cheers
For in-wall LCR speakers, such as the B&W CWM7.4 S2. Do you recommend lining the inside of the wall cavity with acoustic foam since most in wall speakers don't have enclosed backs? Would that be ok if the speaker pushes into the foam a little bit? Thanks.
Problem with all these is you still end up off axis, even the ones that angle don't angle enough to meet both Dolby placement guidelines while remaining on axis.
Most of these all have a wide dispersion pattern actually. Yes, it is technically better to take a box speaker and put it on a rotating wall or ceiling mount to get things perfect, but that is just not feasible in most home environments. Thanks for watching.
If you have room, we usually suggest in room speakers, but, most people do not have room and there are several very good in wall speakers. You can reach out to our team at www.audioadvice.com for more specific advice related to your room and system needs. Thanks for watching
Here's some advise, just don't do it unless you are doing a new build. 90% of the time, in walls sound terrible for a myriad of reasons that you can't fix.
Man this video couldn’t have come at a better time. I was just looking at some in- walls on your website just last night. Thank you.

Great video. Stealth theaters work great in mixed use rooms where homeowners want to keep the room looking clean.

How did it go getting some Martin Logans and thinking about LCR
Great information, directional tweeter are definitely the way to go!
Which amp you are recommending for Dolby atmos? Also what about box for this in wall speakers?

We are glad you enjoyed the video. There are so many choices out there, that is a hard question to answer.
Very nice! Also, the EQ adjustment on the B&W in-ceiling speakers is a very cool feature.

@@AudioAdvicewhat gauge speaker wire do you recommend for the CCM65?
Very educational, thank you
Best hair on the internet!!
Like the video but should have done some time on xovers how far can in wall speakers go down to Hz without ports.

If they have a way to angle them, you might do it slightly, depending on how far off the sides of the couch they are. Thanks for watching

That would not be a bad idea for the 7.4, the 7.3 does come with its own back box.
Terriffic helpful video without the usual jargon 👍
Thank you and thanks for watching!
Can you not just mount ceiling speakers at a slight angle to achieve same effect? Thanks.
That would require some serious craftsmanship
Problem with all these is you still end up off axis, even the ones that angle don't angle enough to meet both Dolby placement guidelines while remaining on axis.

Notes:
1) In walls suck
2) If you do get in walls, get anything THX ultra certified onwards. It's the closest thing you'll get to non-in walls.
are in speakers ideal or better than book shelf or floor speakers for home theater?
in wall in ceiling

There are a lot of variables, and many of the high performance in walls were designed to be in the wall. A lot of them sound very good
I once got a piece of advice before a presentation, one should speak and not read.
Thanks for the feedback. This video was a few years ago and we are always trying to improve our content!
