To be fair the horrific open world is almost a staple of the series at this point lol. As Bethesda would say, it's a feature!

Yet somehow, he can't leap over some curbs in the game, there are so few NPCs, you'd think the world was ended at some point Travis is using the bathroom, and the bike has probably the worst controls of any mandatory vehicle in a 'semi open world game' I've ever seen.
whenever you port from a less powerful platform to a more powerful one, dont expect things like the number of characters in open world scenes, etc, to change. It's literally what you described, the process is just compiling it to the new platform with higher quality textures. It's like a reskin.
I don't know man I've seen other games have drastic improvement from weaker hardware think grand theft auto Chinatown wars PSP version versus DS version. they added much better graphics and even more missions radio stations etc
Seeing games like this get ported over make me wish Shin Megami V would get the same treatment.

I will always prefer the Wii/Switch version of NMH because of the motion control gameplay. Feels better giving the killing blow with motion versus moving the right stick.
Bought the game on February and had a blast playing it. I'm getting PS5 version today and while it's sad that the only difference is in the graphical detail, I'm more than happy to get back in this game. I loved it Switch and I felt sad that they had to cut so much so it could fit in there. Also GHM should expand cause as there aren't that many devs in there, they need more help in development and it shows.
2:04 Actually it was stated in an interview by Suda51 during NMH3 development that the reason why most of Santa Destroy looks so baron is because many of the inhabitants either fled or have been killed. This makes sense given that the first and second cutscene of the game was one of Fu's alien friends shooting giant lasers killing many people and creating a large crater respectively.
And the fact that performance was honestly a problem on ps4
I just picked up the Switch version like two weeks ago and I'm satisfied. The thing about NMH is that it was never about graphics. Even in the Wii era there was way better looking games on the Wii and the NMH games always looked behind graphics wise. That's just Suda's style and Grasshopper doesn't make big budget AAA looking games at all.
I may pick it up on PS5 later on when it's like $20 but a big part of the charm of NMH's has always been the motion controls that lent well to the obsessive gameplay.
They're just fun games. And I don't think I can part with the motion controls. Plus No More Heroes is a Nintendo thing to me, like I have those certain 3rd party franchises that I associate with certain consoles and NMH I associate with Nintendo since Suda himself was always adamant about that (even tho originally he wanted to realease the original on the 360 until he saw the Wii).
And plus and I remember the hype around the original on forums back then, with the hype around the Wii. That original trailer where Travis had a placeholder voice actor and just wanting to see what the game was going to be.

@@knuclear200x not cope just his way to prefer games which is nothing wrong with that. There also nothing wrong with wanting it on platforms where it can perform better. Switch is for portability and options and the rest are for it to be played at it graphical best.
This is why I don't care that the PC port is just a modified switch version. I have no pop up issues, unlocked frame rate, far draw distance and the graphics keep that low grade "Suda Charm". I like the PS5/X ports but they look too "professional" imo. A good Suda 51 game should look like it was made on a modified gamecube.
Loved it on the switch but it looked rough and the pop in was bad. So am excited to buy the XSX version even if its just the same game witba texture upgrade
There is a chance that the pop in won't be fixed. It tends to be an issue with the unreal engine still having pop in even in the best optimised games.

It’s finally 20 bucks on PS5 and I’m the biggest fan of Travis F’n Touchdown so now that I’ve had my ps5 for most of this year I’ve gotta get it! Love these Grasshopper Suda 51 Marvelous Games man. And this franchise started it all for me!
This is exactly what I needed. And actual visual comparison to see what has been done to help the game run better compared to the Switch version. That version just looked awful and even though I love using the motion controls to play, I'll take the gamepad controls if it means a much more visual appealing and stable experience. Now if I could just find out if the digital copy of the game will come with any extra goodies or if it's only going to be the physical edition that does.

@@koba2348 Because digital versions with bonuses has been a thing for a super long time....and it does. The only thing the digital version doesn't come with that the physical one does is the license plate. The digital version is also cheaper too, and gives you both the PS4 and PS5 versions of the game. The digital deluxe which is the one I want, gives you the soundtrack and artbook and is also cheaper currently at 53.99.
Switch version looked fine.
Adaptive triggers when driving are nice but I has hoping it would utilize more features during combat like haptic feedback and speakers. Even just shake to charge the sword.
So adaptive triggers are the only feature on ps5, and only when driving?
I am thinking about getting the PC version for the best graphics, but I am considering PS5 version, if it gameplay experience is any better.
@@saitokanzaki6227 I would highly recommend getting the PS5 version because the PC version was handled by a different team, who just ported the switch version with an unlocked framerate.

ive never played this game before but godamn does it rock, cant believe I've never heard of this franchise it was such a blast, after figuring out the arcade style menu, the combat itself is addicting and just in time as theirs only so much DMC and DMC clones you can play, this game doesn't even try to be a DMC clone its own thing and I loved every minute seeing the art style, I wish more games would take artistic liberties and not apologise for being different
Spider man 2 on ps2 had a more detailed open world, wish they’d put more effort into it, besides that, the rest of the game looks ace

Yes the game is choppy and the switch is a underpowered pos, but I feel NMH is made for the Wii, and by extension the Switch

I really enjoyed no more heroes three but I don’t get why there was an open world section. All it served was to go to battle to battle. Even if they added a bunch of cars and and things to the world it still would have nothing to do. Other than that the game is fantastic
yeah it looks pretty empty
The open world came back due to fans complaining of its absence in NMH2. Just like NMH1 the open world is meant to be empty and barren. It's just a hub to get from point A to point B.
Going battle to battle would make it get old faster imo.
The faster load times are what really adds up; I didn’t even realize how much time the switch version wasted.
Currently replaying 1 and 2 on switch, getting pumped to see 3 is coming to ps5

When I was playing this on Switch I was constantly thinking “this is great, but I would love to see this running on more powerful hardware” so I’ve been debating getting the PS5 version.
Honestly I though the game actually looked pretty good in combat sections but the open world was so ugly that I couldn’t help wonder what it could’ve been. Glad to see that aspect improved- though still not sure if high res textures is enough as the world still looks as empty and unpopulated, just with smoother graphics.
If this was my 2nd purchase I’d probably go for it but I ended up buying the Switch version twice when a limited edition I ordered from Pix n Love was delayed by months after launch. Might buy if I see it on a significant sale I guess.
Glad these versions exist at the very least.
Also the NMH games are the only ones I’ve played where playing with detatched joycons actually felt worth it for me and while the motion inputs aren’t necessary, they do kinda hype me up so hitting finishers with a stick flick doesn’t feel as exciting, as dumb of a reason that is when 99% of the game controls regularly.
I’ve been a huge no more heroes fan since 2008 I remember first playing part 1 on the wii and eventually getting 2 you guys truly don’t know how long us fans waited for a true sequel to part 2
I heard one interviewer state 'This really doesn't feel like a PS5 game, and not just because it's a direct port from the Switch'.
I'd go two steps further.
Not only does this not feel like a PS5 game, it's not even PS4 level.
It's PS3, barely, and the open world (both traversal and things in the world itself) is so mundane and boring, it's little wonder fast travel opens up the second you get another area opened up.
Even the developers knew this wouldn't be a game world anyone would want to spend more time in than is absolutely necessary.
It's a poor man's Persona 5 with worse dialogue and stupid combat.
It's barely a 6, and on it's worst days (Velvet Chair Girl / Ohma fight), it's more like a 4.
The fight is annoying, and the EXACT SAME THING is screamed over and over and over, to the point I beat the fight and proceeded to ignore the game for 3 months 🤷
Will there be a Deathdrive port for this game too?

@@silverreaps6803 If i had to guess, i think he's saying its a near perfect version cause it has the better visuals, but now its missing the other half that makes it awesome the motion controls, where he has the switch version but the graphics could be better, and wishes the two were combined, and i feel the same damn way, and the point of NMH is the controls no necessarily the graphics so there was no point in this version without the motion controls, although i respect yall's opinions as well we're just gamers discussing a great game :)

Just found a day 1 ps5 new at a gamestop lost in the inventory today. Stoked to get all the extras and a game I refused to buy a wii for in previous releases. Can't wait to dive in.
I never play single one of these games I watched some videos of them and I might watch some people play these games again
So basically only get this version if you prefer graphics or never had a switch/PC to begin with
Personality I don't mind the switch version at all as long as the gameplay itself runs fine and is fun I can handle lower resolution graphics and textures
But having better framerate improves a lot the experience, gameplay included.
@@kewincesar6956 depends since some games aren't built around that in this game's case however it doesn't necessarily mean much since they both play well enough that people wouldn't have much problems even if it's the lesser version
So as a huge NMH fan and finally playing it. I can say that the game is good giving you that classic NMH vibe but kinda disappointed with things that could of make it better especially for the 3 iteration

Yeah that just seems like the issue with using Unreal Engine. The engine runs terribly on the Switch

I know the beginning was a joke, but never forget that every no More Heroes has been ported outside of Nintendo systems
It might seem silly, but No More Heroes just don’t feel right without using motion controls for finishers. I’m good with my Switch version.
My only complaint about NMH3 is that they never ported 1 and 2 to PS and XB, I had an absolute blast with 3
No, I won't be checking it out on Ps5 because I'll play it for free rn on gamepass for my beast Series X. Didn't even know it was released on modern consoles. Pretty cool though, always heard it was quite fun and crazy storyline. 😂
I have never played any NMH game since i never had the opportunity to, but now one is on PS5 and i really am concidering to try it. I am gonna pick it up in the next sale i guess!

They patch the Game few weeks ago in Steam, the mini map was improved texture
I mean now that it’s on PC there’s no reason to emulate it, but just wanted to say that the graphics mod (+60patch) whilst emulating NMH3 did the game justice before this release. Nice to see some variety of different platforms for this game though ☺️
Just ordered PS4 version Day 1 edition, already own it on Switch which I think imo that that version was Pretty much Perfect,I'm not a stickler about Frame Rate and lil things like that,But I'm pretty sure the PlayStation 4 version is A lil bit better.....
Hopefully we get astral chain on ps5 one day. Listen I have a switch but there are some games that I would love to play on ps5 Bayonetta 3 being one of them but that will never happen..

I dont get how a port of nier and doom gets good rating and this port for ps5 gets a Meh one, i get u said the game is better than switch, but if it isn't marketed as a definitive edition or whatever then I believe it should get the same rating like the switch version

They said in the video that even though the graphics and performance are better, the port is basically the same as the switch version even though they should've been able to do more with the power the ps5 has compared to the switch. The nier and doom ports are 1:1 as their ps4 versions with slight visual and performance downgrades in order to get them running on the switch's weaker hardware and even had a few extra features added. They're higher quality ports and had more work put into them compared to NMH3.

@@beta3522 You can literally see it if you compare both ports. Plus it takes much more work to port a ps4/Xbox one game to the switch than to port a switch game to the ps4 or ps5 because of the differences in their hardware. All sorts of sacrifices have to be made like reducing the framerate to 30fps and running the game at 720p or lower. The fact they were able to get nier running at 1080p and 720p handheld 30fps on switch (compared to the usual 720p/540p) is impressive, not to mention getting both doom games.

Just wish the game originally came out on these next gen systems first instead of the switch, so much content and cutscenes had to be cut due to the switch's hardware, more than half of the open world was cutout (thats why there's those red outlined parts of the map you can't access in the game) and more than an hour's worth of cutscenes were cut too, it just sucks that we could've gotten an even better experience if development focused on these platforms first instead of the switch.
It likely that Nintendo helped fund the game which is why it came out on switch first

Despite previously being a Switch exclusive, No More Heroes 3 always felt like it was developed for other systems first and then ported to the Switch later during development.
Just like with the entirety of the series previous titles. NMH3 on switch is enough. Plus it just feels like it belongs on Nintendo.
Hopefully the first and second game will have a port as well.

Just recently finished NMH2, which btw is a huge Disapointment compared to NMH1. Now the next game on my List will be the Third Game!

Nah, i think this is a great version of the game. The definitive verison. You can play the game at 4k 60Fps, with improved visuals and framerate. The performance is better, the loading screen times are short. The game is better in pretty much every way except, the only gripe i and other people seem to have with it is game design. Yeah i know this version of the game is basically just the same exact game just slightly improved, but to me this game is amazing despite its flaws and i think being able to play this game at a good framerate with better looking visuals is a godsend. Feels like the definitive verison.
i may get it, but idk if i can play this game without, as few as they were but without the motion controls, that was the emersion of NMH the fact u had to swing the controller this way and that way, without it its just another action game IMO, maybe im wrong.

Thanks for the review! I held off on this game on the switch after hearing about the frame rate issues so hearing that the PS5 version is much more stable and looks better definitely piqued my interest.
The game was fun, but I feel it tries way too hard with the breaking the fourth wall routine, many times just skipping all the references to anime and other games because it does it too many times and I just wanted to get to the main game. City is pretty bland with every NPC looks the same, which I think the first NMH was also like that. The combat is simple but fun, especially during the boss fights, which is easily the best part of the game.
Gunna get it on steam and play it on my steam deck best of both worlds
Oh wow I can’t believe they made a 3rd one. Me and bros played the first 2 😂. The game has its weird moments and Al but I can say I enjoy it !!! Now that I have. A switch I may want to jump on it or wait until I get my ps5

I must be the only one with a ps4, really want to know how well it runs or looks but there is absolutely ZERO info for the ps4 pro version...if anyone has any idea what resolution its on and fps it runs at Id love to know..
It’s honestly better than the PS5 version. The PS5 version is missing a ton of effects, voice clips, and even music. It’s filled with more bugs than the Switch version ever was.
PS4 Pro is 60 FPS in the open world and battle. It has none of the bugs of the PS5 version, and the lighting isn’t as blown out so the colors don’t get washed out.

Never bought a Switch so I'm picking up the PS5 version, just waiting for it to arrive in the mail. Thanks for the video highlighting the differences in visuals and performance, that was my main fear that they would have screwed that up, weight off my mind knowing it's running well.

Definitely rebuking, the Switch version was a performance mess. So glad I can play it the way it was meant to be played. Hopefully Bayonetta 2 and 3 comes out as well

How can you sell the software if you cant get the hardware.
@@mr_m4613 I never said it would sell better on other platforms. Also you act like it's only coming out on one. PC by far has the largest user base in the world if you count just steam users. In monthly active users on Steam sits at around 120mil, not counting the number of people who haven't used steam during said month. Nevermind the fact that it's coming to PS4, Xbox One, PS5, and Series S and X. That combined is larger than the switch, even if we just count the PS4 and Xbox one users. PS4 has sold 116mil units, more than the switch has, and the xbox has 50mil units.
