"We will get to that bridge when we burn it" - Lathrix, painting his craft blood red. 10/10 Malaphor skills. Gr8 vid, and cant wait for the next conquest campaign
If it was me, I'd go all centerline armament. The two wing turrets double the cost of a single one on the centerline, and you would have less fail safe issues as you would no longer have one trying to fire through the center of the craft when its broadside. There is a strong reason why battleships in real life quickly ditched wing turrets even as they increased in size and cost massively over the older ships. The economics of effectiveness per dollar, ton, crew, whatever all are better for centerline only ships.
@@ultmateragnarok8376 that monstrosity of a machine, i love it. the hundreds of harpoons that would latch on and pull their pray under the water before decimating them.
INEEDEDTOCHANGEMYUSERNAME Yeah he made it in the latest(?) neter campaign to summon nukes for fun(?) and he often mistakes the bloodthirster for the blood letter ;)
after seeing the skimmer in it's finished glory, I believe a good name for it is "scarab" because when you had all the glossy red paint on it along with the overall look of the craft itself, it reminded me of a scarab, in all it's glossy cool bits also, earlier in the video, the cala-what's it ship with the harpoons was all like "haha, got you", but the skimmer pulled out a uno reverse
I get the feeling that those simple advanced cannon weapons are more meant for spamming; like a secondary broadside armament you can spam on a deck on a battleship without needing to build a complete loading mechanism underneath, not for smaller ships like this.
The bloodsucker, a little tick like craft from the khorne loving lathrixian legion, it's main gun is a proboscis like advanced canon at it's core and it's as bouncy as it is speedy, Annoying, Fast, Deadly(to be tested).
I really love the advanced cannons in this game. People usually go cram, so it would be refreshing if this campaign focused more on advanced cannons and all the interesting ways they can be customized.
I really like the idea of you doing a FTD campaign where you focus on lots of swarm type vessels, relying on various forms of carriers and motherships to keep them repaired and stocked up
love this vehicle; the only thing I would add is a singe small missile system (either a 1 or a 4) for either torpedos/depthcharges/hedgehog or missile interceptors to help protect other vehicles. also flares cause they're awesome. love the work bro you've come a long way!!
Pretty neat build. I think its gonna be a great harrassment vehicle. As I was watching the build process and you changed it from a light gun platform to a three gun build, it suddenly looked a lot like a TX-130 fighter tank in the Star Wars Clone Wars Era. Made me love it even more. I've got a lot of memories playing on my xbox as a kid piloting those tanks. Definitely looks more insectoid after you put on the cosmetics at the end
i love to see you in FTD again it’s how i found your channel in the first place and you are my favorite youtuber keep being you and every one will love it because your that kind of guy
*@Lathland* 19:05 ish. Is there a way to couple the crafts movement to it's amount of ammo that is loaded? (eg: in the belt fed loaders) So as long as the craft hasn't fully loaded all its weapons, it moves away, but when it is loaded it turns around & starts moving towards the target, when in range & accurate enough it starts firing until it is out of loaded ammo, then it turns away again. Because there is no point in making an "attack round" when it doesn't have any bullets ready to shoot. You could then also couple it's speed to its ammo capacity, so as long as it is in range it slows down a bit so it surely can empty its magazines before turning away at maximum speed.
cool skimmer, has quite some bite. im currently mulling over a sleek "dolfin"craft that jumps out of the water, fires a few radar missiles and falls back to beeing a sub. my hope is that it will be hard to hit with all the vector and medium changes.
Also Lath. Those Casemate guns and the AA 3.7" guns are actually as powerful as the relative sized shell and length for advance cannons just at their own ROF. They even have a boost to velocity as well. So if you ever need small guns those are good ones to choose.
For your next water skimmer you should do one of two things 1. Make an army of just basically entirely broadside skimmers that just swarm and circle until there is nothing left to hit 2. Make an army of those rotating spikey things that you did for like the first video of this ftd season that just ram and melee everything in its path More blood for the blood god as they say🤗 You could also make a submarine carrier that comes up to the surface and releases water skimmer then goes back under until the fight is finished
With a couple more little, completely cosmetic legs/arms this would definitely resemble a little jumping spider, I think it is a great name for the craft :)
Hi lathrix I have a stupid building suggestion. Make a super fast skimmer with a bomber ai that only has one main gun that is stuck pointing upwards. It would essentially just zoom under flying crafts shooting ridiculously powerful rounds directly upwards. Ps love your videos keep up the great work! Edit:I'm not thinking that this craft would only have the gun pointed upwards, it could have smaller guns or small missiles to take out non flying vehicles.
Thanks for starting FTD again ! Got me back into it aswell! :) Any idea how to flip the direction of your craft? accidential build my boat backwards. cant seem to get to rotate button, in the " Load vehicle " menu, to work :(
Am I right in thinking APS explosive ammo has a stacking penalty? Also small gauge railguns are great for high rates of fire with very little power and material overhead.
For the casemated guns, I put enough gunpowder for 500m/s speed, then inertial fuse, then spam HE. I can achieve a maximum of 20k HE damage to lightly armored enemies per shot
When you do your next campaign build a ship that is ment for everything (that means forgoing limits) but can also be killed and only have one and then just build derpy ships if the big bad one dies
I liked it better when the cannas could fire behind the craft but I like rapid fire in the end so I'd say have a 2nd one with a rotating gun so it can fire circles around the enemy just my thoughts. Loved the aircraft carrier build
Tactically, this thing is ok. Strategically? Replace the guns with a radar system and you have a fantastic scout vehicle. Replace them with resource containers for a fast transport.
Watching this I had the question come up...can a laser or particle cannon have an omni-directional emitter thingy? Because having a small, hard to hit skimmer craft firing lasers or particle cannons as it circles the enemy would be kinda cool. circling or 'bombing runs'. 'bombing runs' would not need the omni-directional emitters, or turret or something.
Your comments are fantastic, glad to see FtD is a thing again. Out of curiosity, what did you change the casemates to? I don't recognize the side guns.
Can't remember the exact names, but they were changed to the cheapest of the 'medium' simple weapons. Just looked a little odd as the top of the model was being clipped by the top armour. :)
try a hollow point tip on your HE shells it ads a nice bit of kinetic damage that ignores armor stacking so will do good outer armor stripping and acts as a inertia fuse
I always use AP Frag or HEAP for advanced cannons, unless I'm building an AA gun. The shots go through the armor, then a penetration fuse detonates them causing devastating amounts of damage.
Name ideas for campaign's new craft: General Purpess Colonel Korne Major Payne Captain Antonill Leftenant Rightant Sergeant O'Cheez Corporal Punishment Private Partz
Those weapons you are trying to use are casemate guns, which explains why they aren't rapid, or super big in terms of bullet size, I think.
