Charizard will always be relevant due to the damage output and PC has helped it massively. Think it will have a big weekend. I still need another Moltres to be able to play it!
One of my new favorite decks is Luxray Volkner, a lot of decks just put Drudigon and pass, Luxray can snipe supports like Gardevoir, Manaphy, Vaporeon, Serperior, and with some Drudigon chip or Luxio hits can even two shot Ex's. Gather energy on shinx then luxio into Luxray, hit for 120, Volkner and energy attach for another 120, and a 3rd volker for the final 120. And Luxray on Giant Cape with Blue can eat a 150 hit
Thanks for this helpful video! I can’t thank you enough for saving my decks. I would’ve deleted them because of the current meta. But now, the little tweak you incorporated made my decks super OP. Char, Gya, Cel, etc. very competitive again
For fighting deck im finding success with this build: Primape line(the 2 energy for 100 dmg one) 4 Hitmonlee 1 Marshadow 1 Pokeball 2 Prof 2 Cyrus 2 Giov 2 Xspeed 2 Cape 2 Poke communication 2 Primape is very very good if you can set it up properly He can benefit from the chip dmg 90hp is a very solid pool, with cape you can survive darkrai 80+20 dmg and hit for 100 The idea is hitting 1/2 times with lee or monkey and then go for 100/110 with primape/marshadow+Cyrys/Giovanni You can basically 2 hit ko most of the meta with just non ex pokemon
I've been dominating at five wins with the Charizard EX/Moltres EX deck, but instead of two potions and two x-speeds, I used the following: -Two Charizard EX lineup evolutions (Charmander and Charmeleon included), thus making it six -Two Moltres EX -Two Giant Capes (for the Moltres/Charizard EX's survivability) -Two Leafs (two retreat costs less) -Two Pokemon Communication -Two Poke Balls -Two Professor's Research -Two Sabrinas I chose Sabrina, due to the fact that the opponent has benched pokemon at full HP, is to take out either main target or the mon's lineup evolution. Had I swap her out for Cyrus it would make the battle much easier since he can bring back chipped mons into the active spot. Another thing to consider is two Leafs and two Dawns should you have Moltres retreat to the back line and until the next turn to move an energy from the benched spot to the active spot.
But nice deck, I'm a charizard player too since the begining, last season I played gyarados only because I felt charizard's deck was weak, and sadly I'm feeling the exact same way because of cyrus. I don't wanna play darkrai like everyone else, I want to play charizard, but it doesn't seem viable for me.
I like the cheeky Dawn in any Moltres deck as you can basically hit for 70 after a single Inferno Dance, good for clearing Manaphy and other passive Pokemon that would benefit from Moltres doing nothing.
@@sergiomartinez782 I actually think it's mostly Giant Cape pushing a lot of pokes over the 150 HP breakpoint that's neutering Mewtwo. Darkrai certainly isn't helping, but almost every deck running Cape is too much for Mewtwo
Golem has been absolutely monstrous for me. Rocky helmet. 1x amber + aero for 3 total monsters. Communicators make it get to Golem every game, 2 basic Geodude make it a guaranteed start, pokeball brings the other basic back in and you just cycle it out for your combo pieces. It goes rough if you don't see Brock or you draw your 2nd Geodude before you get communicators and balls. 2x Golem Line (6) The "good" variants 1x Aero Line (2) 2x Rocky Helmet (2) 2x Pokeball + 2x Oak + 2x Coms (6) 2x Brock + 2x Giovanni (4) Enjoy. You can swap 1 Gio for Sabrina or Cyrus but I wanna see Gio when Brock isn't around for Graveler. Don't ever set your second Geodude unless you found all the combo pieces you need.
You can cut pokeball you don't need multiple geos rather get to aero more consistently to, as you said, not need to rely as hard on brock, other wise you should be on at least one extra basic like a marshadow for the pokeball to have actual value beyond deckthinning, and gio kinda gets mitigated by giant cape rocky helmet would probably put in more value in the long run especially with something as tanky as golem or at least mix it up with 1 and 1 to not brick on multiple gio but regardless the best way to play golem still seems to be druddigons leaf and a hitmonlee or marshadow
@jimtsap04 there are 2 rocky in the set. I debated cutting pokeball but the ball into coms into ball into coms is so good. I almost never end up making an Aerodactyl, it's just for cycling when I have to develop a second Golem and finally play my second basic. Gios with helmets allows a 30 damage spread which gets that 120 up to 150 for some much needed KOs. The 2nd gio is much like the 2nd Brock. You just wanna see it early, so you run 2, even though 1 is most optimal.
The probability of drawing Moltres is not 50/50 as you start with 5 cards as well XD I asked the AI it's about a 69.3% chance, it was some hard maths because you have to factor in that you also must draw a basic pokemon.
I feel like Gyarados is kind of overrated in this meta. Big cape just kind of cooks it unless you have Greninja, and maybe I just have terrible luck, but I'm rarely able to get Greninja in most the games I've played. At least, not before my opponent ramps up to kill everything I have. Idk, maybe I'm just really unlucky, but I'm finding it hard to see how so many players are winning tournaments with Gyarados, unless they just happen to consistently have really lucky hands.
For the charizard deck, i don’t understand why only 1 leaf but 2 x speed? Very low supporter to Beginn with, in fact only 3. 2 leaf and 2 dawn allows for an earlier charizard sweep now, aswell as an aggressive moltres now
As a Pikachu main I don't think Pika/Pachirisu is going very far. From what I've seen any aggro deck that wants to be good in this new meta needs to have a consistent way to snipe Pokemon that are on the opponent's bench. Of course you have Elec but I really don't know if it's consistent, maybe with 2 copies and Dawn it can be that tho, we will see. I know this is about old decks but I'm putting my faith on "solo" Pachirisu decks, I can't test it yet because I don't have the cards for it but it just seems like a more consistent Pikachu that lets you use Pokemon that aren't electric types
I've been running Yanmega/Kabutops to consistently force early Yanmega. Cape gets both pokemon to 160, Erika handles any early damage. The goal of the deck is essentially to attack twice with Yanmega on curve then use Kabutops to finish. Kabutops deals with Yanmegas energy consumption by only needing one energy. I've been having a lot of success with it vs the Darkrai/Magnezone decks. Anyone have any thoughts on it?
I like the idea of the deck but i dont think kabutops is it as a closer, and not worth running a stage 2 line just so you pull your yanma more consistently bc the deck is still reliant on pulling yanmega.
23:19 Is there any particular reason why that specific version of Exeggcute was played? Is it so to build up the energy for Exeggutor ex to retreat later?
yea! Typically it wouldn't matter which egg you play, but id say that's a very smart observation!!! I also like the 20 damage egg better personally though.
I’ll have to agree on it being pretty f2p friendly if you’re smart with your pack picks and wonder picks. I only spent money cause I wanted to run multiple different decks.
I really don't know how you can play charizard in this meta, it was always been my favourite deck and I don't like to play meta decks, I just play with cards that I like. It's pretty unplayable right now with cyrus. This card is ruining all the strategy and all the fun, I'm acctually considering stop playing this game. Trades are really bad compared with ptcgo and I don't like the new meta, specially Cyrus, its another level of broken. They are doing the same thing marvel snap did, just release better cards every season so your old cards became irrelevant and you pay to get the new cool cards, it will be like this every season.
Will these CLASSIC decks continue to DOMINATE??? How are YOU improving old decks in this new format? LIKE & SUB (:

Darkrai Magnezone also won a big tournament (with a mirror match in the finals)
