Unfortunately, the true history of what life was like in the Ottoman palace is sometimes not very clear. There are many different accounts of what happened and some of these events can be identified and some not so easy to confirm. Because it happened 5 centuries ago. Even the records of these events can be difficult to determine what really happened. We may never really know. The series was a mixture of history and creative resource to make Magnificent Century interesting and exciting. They added characters which never existed or had people who lived in a different time in Suleiman's empire, they added and left out or changed some facts, but in the end this worked perfectly because what they ended up with was a synchronised tv series full of life, betrayal, interpersonal conflicts, murder, action, etc. All within the beautiful setting of the Ottoman Empire in the 16 th century. The actors and actresses, writers, directors, etc, who did this series did a wonderful job at portraying this historical characters with such reality. Bravo! Bravissima!
At first I had thought: "Why do you write something so obvious", but remembered people who blamed the REAL Mahidevran for Mehmed's death... So, thank you for reminding that the show is fiction mostly.
Gülsah has romantical feelings for mahi. Very obvious. In history it's said they were lovers. Mahi found comfort in Gulsah after suleyman started to ignore her.
Huh? There's not a single historical source that makes such a claim. Nor would it since, before Hürrem, the rule was "one son to one mother" so Mahidevran wouldn't have expected Suleiman's attentions after Mustafa's birth.
Romantic and sexual relationships between concubines were forbidden. So, if Mahidevran had such things with Gülşah, they would hide it carefully and therefore nobody would be able to prove it. However, I don't think that Gülşah in the show is definitely in love with Mahidevran. It might be just a strong loyalty.
When she got all stabbed up because Gulsah thought she was Hurrem, she was never the same after that. They sent her to the other Palace, and then married her off sometime after that. I don't think she was able to return to the main palace because of what had happened to her.
Is it just me or does anyone else get annoyed by the actress playing Valide only displaying emotion by rolling her eyes? It’s annoying. I wish she would learn to emote in other ways.
@Dreamfyre Honestly neither of them is. They're both morally grey and better people than say Ibrahim or Süleyman. I think they get more hate than the male characters because of sexism.
@Dreamfyre I agree with you on Hürrem. But I don't agree with you so much on Mahi. Admittedly her hatred for Hürrem was not a likeable quality at all. Not to mention her tendency to not self-reflect. But she tried to do the best she could in bring up Mustafa. And a lot of her unlikeable traits also stem from a kind of trauma response. (Hürrem's dynamics with her servants were definitely better though).
I love the bonding between Hurrem and valide sultan. Unfortunately it won't lasting..
It's not a bond, she's pretending to be nice, she has her doubts for her like the rest of those women, she's just forced to be polite
valide didn’t like her until the end… in real life they did have a bond though
Aw I really love gul aga he really takes care of hurrem
love how all the sultanate of women in this seris have a lullaby to sing.

I think 14:42 to 15:50 is how Hurrem and others relationship looks like in real life 🤔
Yess
Valide is mad because Hurrem has a brain and is self aware unlike weak and scared Mahidevran.
She mad.

Wait they aren't fasting (minus hurrem who is pregnant ) ? They were having lunch earlier ...
Actually they were having "Iftar" that time when her labour pain started ..
Gulnihal got married? All of a sudden? Why?

I don't like when hurrem is always saying nagative words
She's being abused. Abuse victims don't always act 'nice'.
Sumbul agha and Gul aga rivalry 😂
gulsah acting skills is better than mahi
