I knew of the Minutemen because friends played cassettes sometimes, but later when I heard The Brave Captain on the Streets on Fire skate video my mind was blown. Only today, now that I'm learning to play later in life can I understand how Mike Watt creased my cortex.
Watt is too humble when speaking about Richard Hell and the conversation about clothes that Hell got all freaked out about. Heard it on Watt's podcast and couldn't believe how Hell reacted. Watt was so genuine, and he still thinks *he* was being a dick? No, sir.
I can listen to this dude tell the same story in a 100 different interviews and not get bored
me too ha!
Mike Watt fills me with such happiness. What an absolutely magical person. I like it when people do nice things for Mike Watt.

Flannels are the shit. They make up 50% of my closet. Mike Watt is also the shit. One of my favorite musicians ever!!
Watt is unfairly cool. Always has been...and so down to earth.
"what you mean your coming over?"....so good lotsa love for mike
thanks for making the shirt and shooting the vid. pure class, altamont.
The siren coming on when Watt's on about D. Boon. Pretty potent.
The confluence of egalitarianism, division of labor, fashion, and music. All deep seated in compassion and love. This man is a genius.
this dude is one of the reasons we still have hope in America
Mike Watt is Real Deal !
this dude's work is what inspired me to play bass
He was wearing this flannel when I saw him play last week. Watt still rips!
Same here. Pure rhythmic freedom. None more syncopated.

THE BASS GOD=MIKE WATT
He's Baker's new am. He shared a part with Bryan Herman in Bake and Destroy and he is nicknamed Big Float for his long air time on gaps.
Legend
Part punk rock legend, part kindly woodshop teacher.
I HAVE MET THIS MAN
and also read the book OUR BAND COULD BE YOUR LIFE
"And so the Flannel, uh... I-I-I also like the way it feels!"
