LOVED the intro!!! Fantastic drawers! Wish they made small ones for Jeep Wranglers. Instead of a hot water bottle, we like using the HotSnapZ on Amazon. You can recharge them by boiling them (we do that after making coffee in the morning). Then we can use one for hands and start 3-4 at night in our sleeping bag before bed. Also we can have a few ready if we get cold in the middle of the night.
Between those drawers and that RTT, it's enough to make someone want to get a truck. :-) I really like this setup, it makes a lot of sense, especially how the drawers maximize the use of space allowing you to have that streamlined mounting position for the tent. The lack of dust inside those drawers is impressive. Everything in my car is coated in dust from last weekend. EVERYTHING.
softroadingthewest I can see you in a truck 😉. By the way, yes. Dust was everywhere inside my cab as well! I think it was during those driving shots on trail 1 😉🍻
The ammo can lids, corner pocket lids, have cup holders on the bottom side. Flip them over, and put them back on the pockets and you have drink holders.
I have a 2019 Pro Tundra with a shell on it and live in Arizona, so when I get to camp or home I take my battery powered yard blower to the back of my truck before I open the shell and tail gate.
I already have the battery so it is cheaper. www.amazon.com/Black-Decker-Cordless-Lithium-Ion-POWERBOOST/dp/B07T27D6BS/ref=sr_1_19?keywords=blackanddecker+20v+battery+blower&qid=1573793242&sr=8-19
Great video hope to meet you and see your rig someday at an overland hopefully in the next six months I'll be able to upgrade to a better overland be safe out there.
I am beginning to like this system the more I see it. I’ve seen where folks are building wooden drawers etc. On an absolute budget, it makes sense. However, long term I could imagine wood that would rarely see the light of day and gets wet often (assuming no cap or bed cover to prevent most moisture) would rot, even treated wood at some point. My biggest issue though is sacrificing half the bed volume (I have 5.5 bed on my CrewMax as well) and gaining back roughly 30-40% of that loss in storage. Oh the trade offs lol!
Matthew Husted is way it depends on your utilization of the truck bed. If you need vertical space, then yes, you’re sacrificing, but bed space horizontally is actually gained because you now have a flat bed without the wheel wells sticking out! And for my needs, I definitely find it sensible since I don’t have to crawl in towards the cab any more 👍
Edward Shin Good point about the usable space above the wheel wells with the elevated platform! Ironically, storage is a problem on our trucks. Have you put in the rear floor storage? I have it on my truck. You cut the carpet out and place the unit. There’s a locking one as well. By the way, love your channel and that iKamper too!
Matthew Husted yeah, that is on my list of “to do’s”! I don’t understand why Toyota doesn’t do that from the factory. But definitely something I want to have done . And thank you 🙌
So I see you don't use bed stiffeners. I was looking to add some if I did a bed rack. The black bars that run across the bottom of your decked system under the drawers. What are they for? And would you consider removing them if you were using bed stiffeners. You are running really close to the set up I want to run but I would want to run a taller rack and was worried about the bed integrity while the tail gate was down and some one in the tent moving around. Ty for your time and vids.
What is the depth from the top of the decked system to the top of the bed. I have a bed cover on my 2020 Tundra and always wondered what those measurements were. I'm a dad and have to roll with a stroller in the back of the bed all the time. Thanks in advance for a great video.
Hi Edward, great video on this system. I just put together my own Decked for my Tundra and wondering if you used the provided shims for your Tundra? My spray in bed liner makes it to where the shims don’t fit in slots well and wondering if I even need them? Thanks and I look forward to more of your content 🤙🏼
Have you seen a Kodiak Canvas bed tent installed, and if so do you think it would work with the Decked? Could you open the drawers through the door of the tent? From the pictures I’ve seen I think it would work but I’ve never seen either piece in person.
Hi! Great video. I have the same truck and have really struggled identifying which bed rack would be best. I’m leaning toward a RCI rack but am interested in yours. I looked for a video on it but couldn’t find one. I see it hooks into the track system...can you still use a tonneau cover with it? Any details you could provide would be great. Thank you!
Why spray-on bedliner if you have a decked that's going to protect your bed anyways. I have a deck system and no spray-on bed liner. Anyways looks nice 👌
sir, how'd you upgrade your rear suspension to take into account the added weight? was just upgrading the leaf springs ok? Also, how's the sex in that rooftop tent? Thanks
I have a 2012 tundra double cab, rear wheel drive. And I’m thinking about converting it into an over landing vehicle. Should I do it or should go get a 4wheel drive?
Jim Lee yeah it’s recycled plastic with steel reinforced beams. To me this is the best route since I do not want to worry about any possible corrosion.i also tent to throw loads onto the truck bed and this material appears to be able to take that type of abuse. I definitely have a bumper and winch combo in mind for a future install 😉👍
Robert Cgraggen- NW SELF RELIANCE & OUTDOORS no yeti for me, but I put my cooler behind the passenger seat. And it is indeed a bolt size gauge and ruler!
C_INSAYN yeah there are track rails you can install with adjustable tie down points. I didn’t get that but instead use my tie down points with ratchet straps (for now). I’ll show you when we hit up a trip soon 👍
Sunny Hwang the top of the system can hold up to 2,000 lbs and is wide as the truck bed, plus the wheel wells are no longer an issue. If I had a higher rack system, I would be able to load it on that 👍
@@KrokemOutdoors I prefer my tonneau cover with rubber maid tubs that do keep dust and water out. I have a simple sliding tray with the tubs. I keep it simple after years of different systems. This is the easiest and inexpensive. More money available for other gear. I can pack it in and out myself. If I need my truck for other purposes it's easy to just stack the tubs in my garage.

Edward Shin great, thanks for sharing. My decked system is on its way. Followed you on instagram 👍
You can add a foam liner on the lids to prevent water intruding in ammo cans. Nice rig
Very sophisticated and expensive set up if you use your truck only and only for camping. Great video. Thnx.
She is looking better and better brother, Great setup!!!!
MonDakLiving thanks man! 🙌🍻

I was looking at these. Good video showing how resistant to dust. I followed you on Facebook. I’m also a member of the PNW Tundras

Class act editing and presentations. This is the best of the best in my opinion. Congrats Edward!

ESP longbox for under the rear seat. Metal, locking, holds guns👍🏻
Great looking setup!

One of my favorite intro's! Nice selection on music.
Hot water bottle! Enjoy!

Great video Edward!
Alex Wright thanks Alex! ✌️
Edward any chance you'll put thirty five tires on your tundra.
juan garcia I’m hoping sometime next year to put a lift and fit some 35’s😉👍
Awesome! Follow up video for almost a years use?? Thanks!!

I know this is an older video just wondering what bed rack you were using back at the time of this video?
Looks great. Can you do a long term review on this as well. How does it hold up over time.
Peter Kim absolutely! I’m planning to do a 6 month follow up review
Are you going to add a kit to your new Rebel?
This is pretty sweeet
Libolt Adventures makes life a little easier 🙌
Why spray-on bedliner if you have a decked that's going to protect your bed anyways. I have a deck system and no spray-on bed liner. Anyways looks nice 👌
john sena it was just a recommendation in their manual, but if it works without , then it’s all good 👍

I always notice weird things when you do videos and this time under your hot water bottle you had vine orbs?? What are they for?
Rogue Life oh those, lol. They’re string lights that Katie wanted to hang around camp
I have a 2012 tundra double cab, rear wheel drive. And I’m thinking about converting it into an over landing vehicle. Should I do it or should go get a 4wheel drive?
That storage system looks like it’s plastic. Any reason you chose plastic instead of metal? Are you going to get a modified front bumper with a winch?

Any suggestions on what’s the best way to clean underneath the decked system? I see in this video lots of dust there.
How do you like the system? Thinking about getting a bed organizer.
Hey man how much space you got from the top of the deck to your bed rails like the top part of your bed
I'd say about a foot
nice and have you thought about putting bedslide on top of your decked?
youngtheking I have! Once I put on a canopy or the Leitner rack, I’ll most likely install the glide rack for a cooler/fridge or some totes
I really wanted to purchase this system but they don’t make a full length decked drawer system for an 8 foot bed... 😔
Where do you put the Yeti? Is that a bolt size gauge and ruler on the metal piece?
Robert Cgraggen- NW SELF RELIANCE & OUTDOORS that’s what caught my eye too! 😁
Robert Cgraggen- NW SELF RELIANCE & OUTDOORS no yeti for me, but I put my cooler behind the passenger seat. And it is indeed a bolt size gauge and ruler!
Let's go!
Romeras600 💪🍻
Cool drawer system! Does the top have any kind of tie down system to further secure gear from moving around on bumpy trails?
C_INSAYN yeah there are track rails you can install with adjustable tie down points. I didn’t get that but instead use my tie down points with ratchet straps (for now). I’ll show you when we hit up a trip soon 👍
would you want something wider? i can see how it maybe limiting if you wanted to store something as wide as the truck bed.
Sunny Hwang the top of the system can hold up to 2,000 lbs and is wide as the truck bed, plus the wheel wells are no longer an issue. If I had a higher rack system, I would be able to load it on that 👍
So it does fit on a 2016 toyota tundra limited crewmax? Coz it says on the small size 5”7, let me know please
Thank you!!!
@conrad_29 if the bed is the same size as the 2019 crew max, then yes it should
Does this make the power outlet no longer accessible??
The tundra doesn’t have a power outlet in the truck bed
What rack is that?
Does anyone know if it could fit a first gen tundra
How did it attach to the truck? Did you have to screw into the truck bed?
W Stewart it comes with j hooks you hook around the tie down points in your truck bed. No drilling or screwing through the truck bed necessary
Yall got any stickers?
about to ask when the video🤣
Tom Chong 😂🤣🤣
If you had to pay for it would you have still got it ?
Taco Tuesday. Absolutely. I was looking at these along with the Leitner racks for a few months before I partnered with them
Are the drawers supported by the tailgate when pulled out?
Johnny Nguyen they’re not. They are held up on their own tracks
@@KrokemOutdoors Awesome good to know! have you had any water issues in the drawers?
Johnny Nguyen never had any water issues 👍
Edward Shin hey did your truck come with factory led pods in the bed? Did you have to remove those in order to get the decked system in?
Is a bed liner required?
Found my answer - rhino lining is recommended.
What about the inverter socket? Don’t Tundras have those? Looks like it would cover that up, blocking any use of it. Not to mention the bed cubbies.
Grant Brink my tundra didn’t come with the socket. My Tacoma did though
No first gen love
Art M 😓. I wonder if you can still fit a full size truck one in it
How much?
Nick N for which truck? Prices vary depending on truck size and bed length , but for my tundra the price is around 1,150
Edward Shin thanks Yea it’s for a tundra
I dont like it
J Coats what do you not like about it?
