Today is very special for me as I get to react to Heartstopper I've been waiting over a year to meet Charlie and nick and what makes it extra special is that I'm actually a cast member in the show
i get to help Nick with his bisexual journey and it one of the proudest moments of my life. Heartstopper is a beautiful story written by Alice Oseman about a gay boy (Charlie) who meets and falls for another boy who starts to realise he's bisexual leading to their eventual romance.

So this review is going to be biased but i cant possibly rate anything below a 10 i love the characters , i love how connected i feel to charlie

I’ve watched a lot of reactions (obviously being Alice’s mum) but yours is my favourite. I’m so glad you were invited to be in the show.
I can't thank Alice enough I only found out yesterday that she picked me because she watched my channel I feel so grateful, I'm so happy for her its just amazing to be apart of its something I would have loved at 14 and so many kids will now have something to guide them and not feel alone 💖.

When I saw you in the show I literally freaked out 😂 you were one of the people that helped me accept my sexuality six years ago. And seeing you breaking the fourth wall was amazing, like "I know this guy: he helped me and now he is gonna help Nick!"

My favoirites are Nick and Tao, because they call out homophobia. I actually want to be like that. I absolutely hate homophobia.
Yeah I have to admit quite a few times I've had to call it out , my friends tell me off because sometimes it's all the trolls want. I just can't help it I see stupid comment I going to show that person how stupid they are
I sometimes think it is the role of the bisexuals to stand up and call out homophobia. I think its because we are able to live in both worlds...gay and straight.
This, and Nick and Tao, while different, really stand up for Charlie in different ways, but both care for him a lot.
@@timothyxosullivanEh, speaking as a pan individual, I don't think assigning "roles" to people is good at all. Especially when it comes to things like this. I mean, I get where you're coming from (I totally call that bs out myself any chance I get), but us "living in both worlds" (which we don't btw) doesn't automatically make us the ambassadors of the LGBTQIA+ community. We can choose to do so, of course, but not everyone is comfortable doing something like that.

I loved the series and felt really proud that bi kids (and gay kids too) are going to have this kind of representation! I'm a bi woman who grew up in the US, so some of my experiences were different from Nick's, but a lot of moments really resonated with me. We've been erased and ignored for a long time, so it makes me really happy to see characters like Nick represent my identity and experiences.

I remember watching a different TH-camr coming out as bi, it was one of the key moments in my journey and extremely emotional. I'm glad they depicted Nick finding you in the show because it was exactly what I did. We may not have had this show growing up, but I am so happy it is out there for kids and anyone really who may be struggling with understanding themselves.
I think its great showing another way of approaching an understanding of your sexuality , I feel very proud and lucky to be apart of something so amazing
I watched with my teenage son, he initially came out at 11, I suggested he give it some time and then at 13 he said he was definitely bi. He knows O love and support no matter what. This show and your channel are amazing for everyone, but especially the LGBTQ+ community. I also loved how the show allows the characters to express their emotions. Keep up the good work ❤️

I watched this with my 11yo daughter who came out to me as pan last year. We binged the whole thing in 2 days. I love that it is such a great springboard for conversations, is family friendly, and is so uplifting and heartwarming. I've already read all of the graphic novel as well and can't wait for more. So grateful for this show!!
I was sooo happy to see you in the show! I freaked out! You were one of the many people I used to watch back when I was still in the closet and your videos brought me lots of comfort to make it through that point in my life until I was finally ready to come out as bisexual. This series is so many emotions for a lot of lgbtqia+ people that spans the ages tbh and I'm very happy they have renewed it for two more seasons!
Conclusion: protect Charlie at all costs, no matter how many Apocalypses one has to cause.
I am American but also felt the series was very healing and emotional to watch for me and could so relate. Luv your sharing your feelings and insights also. kiss
who's your favourite heartstopper character , I'm absolutely loving Charlie he's so adorable.
It's a tie between Charlie and Nick. Charlie is easy to relate to and you can feel the emotion and the authenticity of his experience. Then there's Nick who despite putting on a heterosexual façade still calls out homophobia. Nick's discovery and coming out process is absolutely adorable and the way the characters interact is perfect. Kit and Joe did an amazing job bringing these characters to life.
Nick because he's a bisexual man who goes through lots of the same experiences as I went through as a bisexual woman when I was younger. He's just so relatable and I love his relationship with Charlie so much!

New heartstopper fan (how) and my first time here on your channel. As someone who’s bi and in their later twenties, watching this show honestly feels like a form of therapy. Almost like they’ve validated so much of my own high school experience that was a major source of stress and specific genuinely traumatic experiences along the way. I didn’t realize how much those experiences are still with me until I watched Heartstopper. My heart is just so full, I am so thankful that this story is out in the world and that there are creators like you sharing their experiences and being so open and supportive of the queer community

I loved the series, and it is absolutely great that one of the people in the series does content...and the online presenter he had help his character realize he was bisexual is an actual real world bisexual...Alice, Netflix, Joe, Kit...the entire cast, and crew...this show has done it right! Great to see your reaction on this....I too wish I had content like this when I was a teen cause I go even farther back so to speak...gasp..the days without cell phones at all...my gawd! LOL

I really love this show. I binged watch it twice already and will watch it more time. It is so innocent and contain a positive representation of a bisexual person which is hard to find as well. I can see you are all teary eyes about it. We all needed this show growing up. It's no late for me but I am glad future generations will have this sweet and innocent show. I just watched it and went straight here. I also noticed other Easter eggs like the movie Brokeback Mountain or the BuzzFeed gay quizzes and stuff, as well as the gay panic background, your appearance and gay music like girl in red.... That whole series was a blessing.

One of the things I love about Heartstopper is that how Nick and Charlie's relationship starts out as friendship and it grew into something beautiful and it did not seem rushed.
Absolutely, it feels so natural when Nick starts to gradually realise that while he began the relationship as a friendship he realises he has romantic feelings for Charlie.
There is no way you could imagine how iconic this show would be....and to be a small part of it is wonderful! I'm hoping this is a beginning of the end of the movie trope that gays have to be sentenced to unhappiness or tragedy.
Thats would be nice and yeah I thought thr show would do well didn't realise it would be this big

So crazy to think that something replaced Love, Victor for me in terms of just a heartwarming experience, but this show does it so effortlessly. Now I'm just rewatching constantly w reactors and buying the novels. 😅🙆♂️ I'm happy both shows exist, but didn't see something else knocking it down a peg so quickly. The setting is so refreshing.

@@alejandroojeda1572 well yeah I knew, i had a meeting with Alice (who is lovely by the way ) and she explained my role to me and the studio sent me over the comics to read. Alice actually picked me because of all the videos I've made about bisexuality over the years so it makes it really special to me.
There is so much about the show that I love that one comment simply wouldn’t contain it. I think one of the things that is most likable about it is that it touches on serious issues without ever becoming a downer. Even when something doesn’t go well, it’s not long before things are put right again. And I have to say I am impressed with all of these young actors, many of whom have never done anything like this before. The performances are so spot on and truthful. I can’t begin to count the number of times my eyes were welling up at the same time I was smiling as I watched this series.
You were are touched by this program. You can see this. There is nothing wrong with that. It was your emotions and just how you relate. That is great you had the experience to be a part of the show. Just imagine how many people are touched by your experience. You were indeed touched.

Those 2 seem to be taking the gay community by storm right now. Theyre very amazing and show what relationships like that should go. Its almost like Disney's Andi Mac on steroids! I wanted to see another season of that so TJ and Cirus could've grown into that instead of the series ending with them finally getting together! This series kind of goes where Andi Mac chose not to go!
I'd say the show is taking the queer community by storm seems its representing bisexual, homosexuality and transgender at least up to thr point where I've watched which I think is great , I feel very proud to be apart of the show.

I watched the episode you're in today. It was a great little cameo and I think your video was perfect for helping Nick come to terms with being bisexual. I love this show so much and usually have a lot of laughs and tears during pretty much every episode. It's resonated so much with me, just like the books, and I honestly wish they'd all been around while I was growing-up as there's so much I relate to. Sadly, I wasn't lucky enough to be "out" at school or have a boyfriend like Nick (God knows, I wish I had! Especially as he could've saved me from the bullies!).
Yeah I've noticed alot of people have felt super happy about thr show but also in reflection it shows alot of us never got due to fear but hopefully this can change that

Once I saw the video you were going to be a part of the show was curious so binged watched the whole season. Congratulations. I thought it was really good. Charlie texts Nick but tries to find the right words where he knows he doesn't want to scare him off and Nick is unsure what to say either. Both of them don't want to come off as stupid. Felt the acting was great. The first three volumes are at my library so thinking of giving them a read.
Oh you definitely should I think the comic kinda gives it abit more of an adult element at points , I was reading the first one today.
Yes, I relate to the Bi panic and confusion. (I only became attracted to boys when my hormones kicked in and it was confusing because I figured I was a lesbian at a young age.) I think the idea that we not feel forced to choose a label is important. I labeled myself bisexual because I’m physically attracted to women and men pretty much equally and as intensely. However, over time, I realised I only have romantic feelings for women. I don’t rule out the possibility with the opposite sex, but given a long history, it’s unlikely. We know there are people who don’t experience romantic feelings and so it’s within the realm of the possible that there are many of us who have only same sex romantic feelings but are sexually attracted to men and women or are pan in terms of attraction (and vice versa). Romantic feelings and attraction are not one in the same.

Since you canonically exist in the Heartstopper universe, does that mean this video exists too? Is this like how in the Nickelodeon Teen Sitcom Universe (what do you mean it has another name? No one has EVER called it anything else) basically every show exists in the same universe they happen in. Like how Cat can watch an episode of Drake & Josh and then have Hellen from Drake & Josh be her principal.

so i had almost the exact opposite experience of wholesome when i grew up. not in a bad way, but in way that was a reality too in its naughtiness growing up in suburban LA. there are many ways to have a good youth and not all of them need to be fairy tales. i'm so ridiculously happy that the new generation can have mine too because of PrEP. it was really fun writing my piece about my misspent youth. all of our truths need to be told

I think I had a pretty easy time with my phase of realizing I'm queer. I was lucky and didn't get bullied, despite that most people probably thought I was a lesbian. If I hadn't found fanfiction, I think it would have been far more difficult to be comfortable with the concept of homosexuality. Fanfic used to be an obscure hobby that most people had never heard of, so I could have easily never come across it. If I hadn't had fanfic, a show like Heartstopper would have been so helpful. And TV shows have far more social impact anyway.
Thats really good you found your comfort zone , I wish more people would have that I think with shows like heartstopper they will I know me being in the show was full circle for me from not having representation to finally becoming the representation I never had.

@@Courtney-Jai I've been thinking a lot about the show since I last saw it. It's difficult to not think of it. The combination of cast, characters, lighting, music, and story are captivating. There truly is nothing like it on TV at this moment.
With that said, I have also been experiencing a profound sadness after seeing it. I'm happy for the teens to see this, but when I see this it makes me feel I missed out. I never had what Nick and Charlie had and won't ever because I'm in my 40s now. One may assume, the way I am talking, there's no special guy in my life. But I've been in a committed happy relationship for 19 yrs. I think it's a sense of loss that cannot be fixed so easily.
