Thanks for your video. If enough M.D.s would join alternative medical associations things could eventually be changed. I have been wanting a computer controlled patient diagnoses system for more than ten years now. This would be a great time to start getting it operational. The one thing that the current system sucks at is diagnoses.
I agree completely with Dr. Goobie. The "healthcare" system has become a death trap for both patients and providers alike. I am a Nurse Practitioner. Worked in "healthcare" since 2008. I have taken care of patients from the White House to top Generals of our nation at Walter Reed. I've worked in Primary Care, Psychiatry, and Neurology and it's all the same every where I go. I had to leave because you cannot be ethical or moral in our system today. Only GOD can heal us. This is happening for a reason, but we all have a choice. I choose to tell the truth. "He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions." Psalm 107:20
If you worked at Walter Reed with the Generals, you must have worked in the VA "not-for-profit" system. Goobie was referencing private care that requires profit to exist. Am I missing something?
Explain what you mean by saying the VA is the same as "for-profit" health care. The VA is a gov't entity, not a private business. So there is a distinction. How is it the same a privatized for-profit health care system? You seem to be contradicting Dr. Gooby's main point.
Thank you for your honest reflections. Indeed, health care has digressed from first do no harm with a patient focus to a medical business, where profiteering from the ‘business’ of medicine is the focus. We need to change this system. Medical care has lost its way, The medical establishment cannot be directed by big biz, there is a major conflict of interest. It is an ethical issue. Professor-Elizabeth
Dr Goobie has provided a powerful testimony that lets people realise they can end their suffering by living a healthy life. This includes our mental health and if something doesn't feel right or is causing stress which ultimately kills you then stop doing it.
People go day in, day out, in and endless thoughtless cycle of doing what someone else decided what was supposed for them to do, just to end up in a terrible self-imploding purposeless existence. Some rare, courageous people are the pressure cooker nozzle, they liberate themselves from their own implosion and end up being the channel by which a countless number of people can liberate their own selves also, expanding themselves and asking the why´s, re-finding again the purpose of their own existence, taking their own destiny to their own hands once and for all. Aid human society by turning your back to it, lead the prisoners to freedom by example.
Surgeons are rock ⭐️ stars. Lights from a higher power. You all deserve to be treated better. A Pro athlete shouldn’t be making more than any surgeon. The whole system is backwards. We the people aren’t slaves. We are human and we must harmonize humanity and balance the system better. One life to live. We can’t allow others full control of our fate. The fear tactics don’t work on me anymore. Do it Your way and dream big! Walk away if you feel that feeling in your gut.
The only thing stopping people from providing alternative advice to surgery or expensive procedures is the law or getting sued for giving medical advice.
Medicine has been about Fixing - or trying to fix things - rather than relating to people, learning about them and their stories. Health and Healing are Never addressed in training - at least they weren't when I trained decades ago. Med schools do not train healers - but mechanics and technicians. There are many medics who become exceptions, but medical schools do not promote them. The financial rewards may be grand for modern medics, but neither do pills nor operations heal as Dr. Goobie has recognized.
Medicine itself is a dubious concept. Fulfill the body's basic needs and it heals itself. There is nothing else that heals but the body itself. Animals lie down and stop eating for days when sick or injured, and this in fact works for them incredibly well. Humans are the only exception....
I also think a big part was also the profit over healing turn style. What ever specialty he is the rare gem and the type of healer people need. The lets try to get you to a place where I don't have to see you again- someone who wants to heal not incombered by dictates of the for profit machine.
Mayo Clinic Rochester Minnesota, everybody complains about how it’s run. Legislation was nearly placed to help make it a better place to work and Mayo threatened to cancel a construction project and it evaporated.
I ❤ Dr Goobie and his honesty. Western medicine puts doctors before God himself and I commend him on his bravery to speak again this beast system we’re up against
As a Pilates instructor of 25 years, I have seen all of my clients improve their physical fitness. Preventative measures work and keep you out of the doctors office.
Great words, so glad to hear it from a urologist! as a medical student who aspires to be a urologist, do you think there is a way to make better medicine as a urologist? do you think this is different where health care is financed by the country? or it is something that is more pronounced in the USA?
Agree with you and Dr. Goobie, but.........my Uro Surgeon gave me my life back via aquablation, got me off a catheter I had been on for three months. No amount of proper eating or nutrients or meditation or sleep was going to fix me. I needed surgery.
The only medical doctor I've had for decades is my OB-GYN for required exams (to receive hormones). I have been an energy practitioner for decades and also have worked in whole food nutrition. When I talk to most physicians, they treat me like a freak because i am not 'medical model' and I trust my intuition when I make medically-related decision. Very frustrating that most doctors are so rigid in their views. You and Dr Goobie are so needed to open the minds and hearts of physicians and the medical community.
Yeah, I used to be a healthcare professional... took years of university to get there. But having business people managing how we practice was intolerable. I quit and made a complete career change.
I am also very impressed with Dr. Goobie and just watched his video about the reasons why he quit neurosurgery. I'm retired, and I feel like I've gone to heaven. I'm in Canada though, where there is no for profit hospitals, and we have a different focus.
@HoopJumperMDMBAMPH-g9x Yes, mine was a prolapse. I feel better, but I'll have to stop lifting heavy objects for a while. My doctor is a gyno-urologist.
So you make this video thanking a Doctor for making a life changing decision and putting it out there. You stated that this message resonated with you. ...In what way? What did you learn? how will it change your life going forward? How will this change how you do your practice or live your life? You really did not elaborate on much!
It resonates with me because I am Dr Goobie and Dr Goobie is me. We share many similar experiences and struggles. This bond gives me energy and hope that We are capable of peace and health. So I will continue practicing urology, and do my part to improve how We see health. As others come to a similar understanding, perhaps everything falls into place.
What would you say to a first year med student? I got accepted around the time dr goobie video went viral. I was happy for him, but it scared me about the field that I have now committed to.
I say move forward and find out for yourself. Learn as much as you can, and remain open minded. The field of medicine (like everything) is always changing. It also feels like there is more customization of the job that is allowed for. So even if the field is far from ideal, you can tweak and dial. This is what I aim to nurture with this TH-cam endeavor- a fresh way of looking at my job.
2:14 labelling Dr. Gooby's video as a "rant" is a gross mischaracterization. Rant: verb - speak or shout at length in a wild, impassioned way. "she was still ranting on about the unfairness of it all" noun - a spell of ranting; a tirade. "his rants against organized religion" Dr. Gooby's delivery in no way, shape, or form at any time in the video in question was loud, wild, nor a tirade. Nor was his delivery impassioned. In fact, I would characterize Dr. Gooby's delivery as dispassionate and disillusioned, which is exactly why he wanted to share his experience. The system itself is toxic. That's the only reason a man of his achievement, education, and intelligence would quit. It was not a rant.

@@Jahnink I've worked in both. The VA is a "not-for-profit" but works just the same.
Explain what you mean by saying the VA is the same as "for-profit" health care. The VA is a gov't entity, not a private business. So there is a distinction. How is it the same a privatized for-profit health care system? You seem to be contradicting Dr. Gooby's main point.
@@Jahnink Call it what you want but the government is the largest of all businesses.
❤
Thank you for your honest reflections. Indeed, health care has digressed from first do no harm with a patient focus to a medical business, where profiteering from the ‘business’ of medicine is the focus. We need to change this system. Medical care has lost its way, The medical establishment cannot be directed by big biz, there is a major conflict of interest. It is an ethical issue. Professor-Elizabeth
Dr Goobies content since quitting has been interesting and its evolving fast, very cool. Andre
me too brother. Dr Goobie has made a massive difference I hope in that video he made! Andre
Cool video Hoop! love is the way.
It resonates with patients too!
Thank you for listening to Dr. Goobie. What he said about patient "care" is all true.
Dr Goobie has provided a powerful testimony that lets people realise they can end their suffering by living a healthy life. This includes our mental health and if something doesn't feel right or is causing stress which ultimately kills you then stop doing it.
Dr. Goobie learned everything he needed to know.
I’m so grateful for your post!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You’re my hero too.
Thank you for holding a space for him and your support.
Kindness is truly inspiring❤️
Thank you for speaking up.
Thank you so much Bro. for sharing your support for Dr. Goobie. All the best to you and your loved ones.
I know he will be missed at his job because he was living his Truth!!!
Dr goobie is amazing❤
Love this
More videos Dr please
incoming. what sorts of content would you like to see?
@@HoopJumperMDMBAMPH-g9xwould love content that teaches good health around the area of your specialty.
Congratulations
Thsnks for your courage!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! look for eyes of buddha.
Dr Goobie is a hero
Mayo Clinic Rochester Minnesota, everybody complains about how it’s run. Legislation was nearly placed to help make it a better place to work and Mayo threatened to cancel a construction project and it evaporated.
Thank you
It is hard to admit it, and it is more common than we believe.
I was captivated too
We don't need the middle man. All that is needed is the patient and the healthcare provider(Doctors, nurses etc).
we all want our piece of the pie
I enjoyed this video. Its not a clout chasing video.
Yeah, I used to be a healthcare professional... took years of university to get there. But having business people managing how we practice was intolerable. I quit and made a complete career change.
grateful to hear your reflections. is it me or is there a faintly lit circle on Hoop Jumpers MD MBA MPH's face?
….medical people like you will be much happier in the future….you may step back a little but we the patients are grateful ….
You look like you could be an ortho beast
I am also very impressed with Dr. Goobie and just watched his video about the reasons why he quit neurosurgery. I'm retired, and I feel like I've gone to heaven. I'm in Canada though, where there is no for profit hospitals, and we have a different focus.
No money in a cure (hospitals etc…)
COVID should have been eye opening and a turning point for health care but its only gotten worse.
I hope urology isn't described as Dr Goobie stated. I just had surgery. Successful so far..😬
I wish you the best recovery. There are many urologic surgeries that are necessary and beneficial.
@HoopJumperMDMBAMPH-g9x
Yes, mine was a prolapse.
He's not an influencer for god's sake
It resonates with me because I am Dr Goobie and Dr Goobie is me.
We share many similar experiences and struggles. This bond gives me energy and hope that We are capable of peace and health.
So I will continue practicing urology, and do my part to improve how We see health. As others come to a similar understanding, perhaps everything falls into place.
The title says so much🎯Thank you and God bless you for this video #sohonestandbrave:)

If you can try to reach Goobie and let him know how much I enjoy his videos.
Hmm I don’t see Dr Goobie becoming homeless.
And if he does, it will be on his terms.
Rant:
verb - speak or shout at length in a wild, impassioned way.
"she was still ranting on about the unfairness of it all"
noun - a spell of ranting; a tirade.
"his rants against organized religion"
Dr.
Youve given us a great rant yourself 😂🥴
i agree, not my best choice of word
@@Bob-l7m2g Words mean things. Use them correctly.
Thank You.🙏
You also are in the 1% so good for you you are probably very financially secure now for the 99% of us just like all you doctors useless advice
You are correct. I am incredibly fortunate, blessed, lucky. What kind of advice would you find useful?
Nothing from any of you you're whires to the insurance and health care companies so spare me hippocratic oaths and your oath in general your types are a scourge on societies ass nothing to be admired just a whire
Are you in residency, still? When do you earn your NE?
I somehow completed residency
