    I bought a Remington model 788 in 1980 in a brand new cartridge, the 7mm-08. I had read an article in one of the outdoor magazines where the author talked about hunting accuracy and made the point that you only needed to consistently hit a 6 inch circle. I sighted my rifle in a 200yards which means that I would be 3 inches high at 100 and 3 inches low at 300yards. I took my first deer with that rifle, an 8 point at 140 paces. Held dead on and had a perfect shot placement. He ran about q-yards. I am a solid believer in the mpb philosophy.

    There are three types of people in this world, those who can count and those who can't. 🤣

    Aim small always. Always and you should not have that. Problem. But here. In Louisiana we usually have to shoot our game on the run

    Game loads and Practical Ballistics by Bob Hagel will be able to explain it to anyone. I think that book was written in the 1970s.

      @@RonSpomerOutdoorsHi Mr Spomer, I am a big fan of your content but having just personally discovered you I have noticed one difficulty that being the hard time I am having locating your full form videos after viewing the short form segments that come from them. May I suggest that you leave a link to the full form video in the description of each respective short that is from said video. Of course its just a thought and I will continue viewing regardless. Thank you for your entertainment and insight!

    I know my new rifle, a 26 Nosler has a MPBR of 0-415 yards firing a 129 gr Nosler Accubond LR, when zeroed at 350 yards.

    So in other words, maximum Point Blank Range is the ability to stay within that 6in Circle?

      It’s based on target size and the maximum distance is based on that and the bullet velocity

      It sure does. These auto-pilot uploading programs leave much to be desired. You might want to check out ronspomeroutdoors.com website for full details and the original full-length YT video on this topic. Sorry.

    I use this less in hunting and more in self defense/combat rifles. An interesting point is comparing the 7.62x39 and 5.56x45 cartridges from their respective platforms. One is a 300 meter mpbr, and the other is a 400 meter mpbr.

    my old daddy said pick a hair and shoot at it. if you miss that hair, you're still going to hit the deer......

    I have a saying that friends don't let friends use MPBR. At least not with today's optics and the reticles and feature sets available.

      🗣I am OLD SCHOOL. And I study the ballistics of the caliber and weight of the round I am shooting, BEFORE I go hunting. And where the rifle is ZERO’d. So, I know my MPBR. And at least practice to 300 yards.
      (Up until now, have only killed 2 deer 🦌 at 200 yards for farthest kills). SEMPER FI 🇺🇸🤠

      Ahh yes, the person using a 300 blk with a vortex viper FFP scope has arrived to tell everyone what fools they are for using a traditional hunting setup that has proven itself for the last 100 years. The only people dialing their shots are people shooting farm raised deer, or people taking shots far greater than they have any business doing. Most deer are taken well inside of 300 yards, and a basic 3-9x40 scope mounted on a rem 700 or model 70 in 30-06 is more than capable with a MPBR zero.

    I've been hunting for 55 years I have never shot an animal in the guts are the big body or whatever you call it, I shoot my animals in the neck are the head, you cannot do that you should not be hunting.

    • @dundonrl
      @dundonrl ปีที่แล้ว

      @@tubeguy4066 Why would it be a joke? Hit an animal with a high powered rife in the head or neck and it's going down.
