I've gone three times, twice dressed up, and I'm going again next year as my Kenku character. It's gonna be so much fun dressed up as a big bird person, interacting with the players. They always get a kick out of people who dress up and it may be the first time I don't feel awkward playing along with them. The aviary show is also gonna be a bit of a wildcard...
Oh, I loved it! This was so good! You did such an incredible job, darling! Excellent work! You truly captured the heart of the faire in such a perfect, clean, and artistic way. I've been going to this specific faire since I was only 5 and still love going to this day (age 24)! Thank you for uploading this. I'm going to share it with my new beau to entice him to come with sometime! Much love and appreciation! ~ Stevie
Christopher Marlow is sir Robert Dudley at the socal ren faire. :D I worked with him this past season, he is just as sweet out of costume as he is in costume.
I went to a medieval fayre in Canada and I dressed up and it was awesome. I am from England, so have a British accent and because I was dressed in costume and spoke with a English accent people kept wanting to have their photo taken with me or getting me to say stuff on video. It was so much fun and I really didn't mind because it made other people there day more fun.
I went to my first renaissance fair in Minnesota last year and let me tell ya that it was fun but super expensive if you want a souvenir. Then again those souvenirs are made by hand so I get why it’s over a 100 bucks.
Two different years when I went to the ren fest, I dressed up as Link then Princess Peach. A bunch of people kept on shouting video game references at me. When I was Link, I brought an ocarina and did a duet with a fairy.
This looks like fun, but I'm just confused about the name. It's a medieval fayre but they call it renaissance? I think you got your time periods mixed up.
Given the faire takes place during the reign of Queen Elizabeth I, the NYRF does indeed take place during the British Renaissance, not the medieval period.
JLawrenceKenny Thanks for clearing that up. I looked up the English renaissance as I hadn't heard of it before. To me the renaissance was really an Italian affair so I was a bit confused about how this had anything to do with Leonardo da Vinci and Michelangelo.
If I was able to go to the Renaissance Faire, I would be dressed in a historical costume to really feel like a 16th century princess either as Anne Boleyn or Anne of Cleves or some high noblewoman as long as I can wear the pretty dress
I'm a regular "playtron" at the Bristol Renaissance Faire in Wisconsin. Wish I could live there forever! It is true. It is one big family. 👸👑🏰🎪🎭
You should try the one on irwindale California... you'll love it as well

@@talosheeg Cool! Great to meet another Renny! 💜👸🤴🍗🏰👑Huzzah!

Oooo girl he's fine as hell!
Yay! I was on screen for like less than a second! Also the fairies when you highlighted playtron are on cast.
I love videos about Renaissance Faires. I like to see the similarities and differences with Dutch fantasy events.

Thats what I do! This year though im sticking with a simple 16th century kirtle but I usually make myself a pretty historical dress!

Are the players actors who get hired and paid?
There are some paid spots and some unpaid. Also, there are the merchants - all of whom are dressed in garb, as well as support staff (who are not)
And you can get tips if you are a performer
😍
I too want to cosplay but i have a budget
Honestly the only thing I didn’t like was her huge gold earrings
I wish there was no such thing as weird in the world :)
We love weird!!!! ❤
If you dislike RenFest, I will probably dislike you. 🧙♂️🧚♀️🧝♂️🧜♀️🤴👸🎆✨
please please please get a pop filter for those sybilants, lovely video but the fricative consonants hurt tender ears!
Wait, so a fashion editor is wearing mom jeans cut-offs? I am astounded.
Playtrons are abit weird
Ha! The downside of living on the other side of the world. Jealous!!
where are the slaves?
Wrong time period. In the English Renaissance time they were called serfs.
