- The reverse De La Riva is most versatile no gi guard in my opinion. Its easy to use to establish your guard game and offers a lot of sweeps and entries into other guards. Which is arguably it's strongest asset.

This is great stuff. I would just ask that you make the video a little louder because I have the volume turned all the way up and can barely hear it
Audio has been my biggest challenge but will improve it as soon as I can.
Alec Baulding great video, just wish I could hear it. Seems like that little tripod mic is hurting more than helping the audio. It got louder around 8:30min. I feel like a normal iPhone would be able to capture the audio better :/ Hope you can figure something out because you have great content, thanks!
Straight to the point!!! Thanks Alex
Thanks, helps a lot to understand the basics
Love this stuff. Thanks!
Awesome Alec, I love this guard as well. So versatile!
🙏🏾🙏🏾
This video is a massive help. thank you!
Happy to help
I love the mantis guard. It is a super awesome variant of the de la riva and reverse de la riva as it gives you super secure control of an ankle and can off balance the opponent so easily
This is super helpful. Thanks!
Glad it was helpful!
I didnt know about this simple sweep simple means powerful in my eyes thanks for this good technique
Super effective
Great Video! I havent formally started BJJ but im gonna go train and spar with neighbour whos a blue belt so hopefully this makes it a little harder for him to kick my ass.
This is awesome man
Thanks 🙏🏾
Good stuff! Hope you are good bro! Best regards, Benni from Iceland 🇮🇸👍💪
Doing well in 🇺🇸. Hope everything is going well for your Benni 🙌🏾
I like working spider guard even no gi. You can not create as much tension but if you have a decent grip on the wrist, you can get just enough to work around. No gi is definitely a lot more dynamic than gi
Man! get sb back from RDLR is sometimes really hard. Unbelievable it can be done so easily... Great stuff!
Working on a new project focused on this guard position 💪🏾
Love the tutorials - may wanna grab a RODE lapel Mic setup for mobile. Hard to hear you.
Just watched your guard recomposition instructional and loved it. Any advice on getting into RDLR guard off guard recomposition? Seems a little trickier than the standard DLR. Thanks Alec, hope you put out another BJJ fanatics instructional soon.
I like to use the rdl hook leg to fish for my opponents leg and pull them to me if that makes any sense. I have beginner level instructional on reverse de la Riva at reversedelariva.com
@@AlecBaulding One year later lol ... what kind of guard do you like to work into off of reverse de la riva if your training partner kneels to the ground?
@@AlecBaulding Amazing video. Thanks for posting. Do you still have that instructional?
🔥 🔥 🔥
Hey Alec. Do you also hide your left leg in the gi or do you like to go crab ride/ belt grip? Thanks!
Just finished filming a gi reverse de la Riva video. Should drop next week
What's with the audio maaaan
Hi great video! I was drilling this and I understand to block the left leg so your partner doesn't backstep (7:55), but my partner was dropping his right hip to the ground so that he was on his butt and able to face me. How do I deal with this?
You can keep the rdl grip and try to come up for a knee slice. I will often use that position to start attacking my partner legs or start working like crab ride/x-guard entries. If that makes any sense.
@@AlecBaulding yes totally makes sense! I've been ending up in like a knee cut type of position.
does this sweep have a name?
Leg entanglements, just like Jada
I'd watch 2 hpur video
