Today we'll be showing you a basic setup, position and 3 different sweeps from the Reverse de la Riva guard. As always; if you have any questions let us know in the comments! Osú
I am a Korean who was very impressed by this video. In other videos, they only deal with sweeps that follow reverse dela reva, but don't really explain about the position itself. But in this video, it's really detailed, so I really like it. Thank you for giving me a free lecture that feels like I have to pay.
Osú brother! Thank you and my pleasure! If you enjoy my teaching style and our video quality be sure to check out our Patreon and my instructionals on BJJFanatics! Osú from the Netherlands 🙏
This was extremely helpful.. key takeaway points -> To prevent Knee slice -> Setup reverse de la riva -> Based on reactions you counter such as if he tries to disengage you go for tripod sweep -> If he starts smashing do tumbling sweep -> If he turns his knee away from you standing go for xguard -> if he sprawls and tries to smash with knee turning away from you you still go for low x guard sweep.. That is it.. one more game plan added to my list.. Simple and easy to understand.🙂 You keep playing in between these reactions until you sweep..
That’s right! Happy to see you took away the correct concept. Playing it as an offensive guard but also being ready to react and play around their reactions and game. 👌🏼🙌🏼
@@EnergiaMartialArts I a white belt with no legit coaches around... Me and couple of my friends train at my friends kickboxing gym and must tell you these combinations worked during positional sparring only thing is you need to be able to interplay between positions and need to have an idea what to go for. for eg there were couple of instances where I screwed up the position and my opponent went down on knees where I was able to close the distance and go for shoulder crunch sweeps, choi bar, few other things which I saw from your videos.. Keep up the good work.. Just wanted to ask you as a beginner even though i have few years of experience I always find it difficult to design a practice for me and my friends. Would be helpful if you make a video on fundamentals of no gi and how to design games and practice around them.
@@StrengthWithin09 man id love to do that! Sounds like a great idea for a new instructional, thanks! 🙌🏼 for the moment I do have a new short course instructional dropping this month on our Patreon! It’s a system on top control with drills and games! Geared towards beginners
I recently discovered your channel, and I love your content. The format of your videos is awesome, with a review of the position and 2-3 options from there. Keep doing what you do and thank you for the content!
You know I’ve gotten a ton of great info from all of your videos making it arguably my favorite BJJ instructional site. Never tried this “Thanks” thing b4 but happy to do so! Thanks for taking the time to put this material out there for free! OSS!
Hey brother! Thank you so much. I appreciate that a lot! I saw your channel, looks great! I love all the 10th planet stuff (we have some videos on rubber guard etc too) and had the honor to train with boogeyman and Eddie etc. Thank you for the support! Send me a DM on insta (@tumenergia) and I’ll happily send you some cool content. Osú!
Another fantastic video. Becoming one of my fav technique sites! Very appreciated that you’ve taken the time to put this out! Plant in the background, nice touch :)
@@EnergiaMartialArts I can get into rdlr consistently during my rolls but I quickly abandon the position due to my lack of attacks or sweeps. But this video gives me knowledge on how to proceed.
@@dcDOC19 awesome! Hope that helps! I don't know your build/game but I also really enjoy going for kiss of the dragon from there (we have a seperate video on that technique). Have fun playing around with these sweeps!
@@EnergiaMartialArtsWisconsin, I just started practicing Jiu Jitsu about a year ago. I have fallen in love with the sport, and hope to do it for many years.
Hello, when would you reccomend X-guard sweep vs kiss of the dragon or is it just preference, thank you. Also I am worried about hurting my opponent knee with the X-guard sweep, is their much danger?
Good question! So as stated in the video I usually do that modified X when they step towards me and give me access to the second leg. The kiss of the dragon I like to do when I can elevate them and spin underneath their hips. I understand that, what might help is we actually filmed a great X guard instructional today! I’ll drop it somewhere in the coming weeks. Stay tuned and let me know if that helps! Osú
It is a bit different though now that I check it out. They start of in like a knee shield/halfguard variation. But I get what you are saying. Thank for sharing

Number 2 Atos sweep
What do you mean exactly?
