Looks like another exciting build. Just an FYI the bead along the edge of the hood and around the belt line of the body was just stamped into the steel. There was never a stainless trip band around these trucks, after all they were work vehicles. Not to say you can't drive yourself nuts and add BMF to it.😂 And the last set of wheels you were looking at are called artillery wheels (just in case you wanted to Google images).
I figured that was just a stamp, but I was looking to dress up the build a bit. After looking at it again, you are right, best to leave it alone. LOL I did not know those were artillery wheels. Thank you for that.
This is a nice kit. I'm on my second build I like it that much. This actually buids out as a 37 or a 38. In my hometown an old guy had a 38. The 39 had the same grill as the 38 but had the 38 to 41 fenders on the box. Love this kit as it has a very nice Flat Head with duals and fentons. The chassie builds out so nice it's a shame to cover it. Have fun!
It sure does. This will be for the group build, then I'm digging into that Bel Air. Just wait till you see what I'm doing with it. Look at the movie Cobra. Not the same car, but the same idea.
Sooo having a bit of trouble today are we? 🤣 I have days like that too. Still a great video and I have my car picked out for the build... 😁 Starting on the Movie car build next week, well have started a little... Lol LLAP 🖖
Cant wait to see what you come up with Mark! I completed this kit about 2 years ago with a box art reproduction, rusty and hot rod'd. I recently left Facebook and the only thing I miss is your community. Was wondering if you had thoughts about another means of sharing with your fantastic group. I cant expect you to want to run another group somewhere but if you're looking to expand a little more, I would like to help you accomplish those goals. If not i completely understand and will continue to enjoy your TH-cam channel.
Have you ever tried using bleach to strip chrome? I've seen Paul over at International Scale Modeller use it quite a bit, but he seems to use a gel bleach I'm not familiar with
I have two of these in my stash, as I want to do both versions - stock and custom. I'm hoping to see a couple build videos before I start mine. 😊
I'm planning on starting Feb 1st. This is a very nice kit from what I have seen so far.
Same as one I’m doing , I’m about half way done👍
Sweet. . . Let me know how you like it.
Great video Mark!...😉
For the guys n gals giving their best...🫡🫡🫡🫡🫡
Thank you very much.
This is a nice kit. I'm half way done with it. I really need to finish it.😅
I have some big plans for this one. Can't wait to dig in.
Hey Marcie! 👋 Hows it going? Got the model room up and running? Hope so...
LLAP 🖖
Got to stop and get my kit next week (40% off). My wheels should be here Tuesday.. getting ready
Man I got some big ideas and bigger plans for this build. Just wait till you see what I'm planning.
@grandpamarkshobbies watching patiently
I will be starting this Feb 1st.
Great review, been on my short list for awhile.
I've wanted this for a few years, and was afraid that it would be pulled before I got one.

@grandpamarkshobbies anytime my friend.
Looking forward to this one Mark! Gotta love the purple pond for sure. Thanks for the update.
Thank you very much. The Purple is the way to go. It was much faster than I expected.
This is a very nice kit, it will look great when you finish it!👍
Thank you very much.
Hi Mark, that looks to be a great kit, I do like the early older pickup trucks, looking forward to the build soon, best regards from Australia, Les
Thank you very much. I think I've turned into a big fender guy. LOL

For sure. The details are great on this one. I ordered another one for a build down the road.
The amount of parts is reflected in the level number. It is mostly useful for newbies. 🇳🇴
Right. I usually ignore it, but I had a lot of people comment that I add it to the videos.
Looks really neat. The purple power did a great job on the chrome, I may give it a try.
Thanks. That purple power worked so fast. I will be using it for now on. No smell either. Well none to speak of. That LA Awesome had a strong smell.
I'm getting this kit for the Got Fuels live chat build starting March 1st.
It sure looks like a great kit.
This should be a cool build. Any lighting on this one
Thank you. I think I will light this. Nothing fancy, just basic lights.
Looks like another cool kit!

Man oh man my brain was in shut down mode. LOL I'm trying to get the Baby Demon done before the end of the month. LOL
Looking forward to this one!
Thanks Buddy. Just wait till you see what my plans are for this. You will crack up big time.

I'm going to kind of go both custom and stock all at the same time. LOL As for another medium, I will be expanding as soon as I can retire.
@@grandpamarkshobbies Sounds great, can't wait to check it out.
Nice kit. I have already built this one and thinking about getting another one to do.
If I knew it was this nice I would have gotten one a long time ago.

I have tried bleach, and it does work, but the smell in the shop is a bit too sharp for me.
@@grandpamarkshobbies fair enough! I hadn't considered that
I tried bleach to strip chrome, but with unimpressive results. 😮
Yeah, it was just OK. Not much better than that.
