Huge respect to players like Bopanna. It is difficult to come through as a Professional Tennis player from India where the facilities and support from relevant authorities are almost non-existent.
also there are no ATP tournaments in India or very few in Asia itself.. That means you have to travel to Europe or USA to play them to get points . Which costs lot of money and not sustainable
@@arpanmann8738 Bopanna played a prime Federer which is the scariest version a player can ever reach. Nagal played an almost 37yr old injured Fed 2006 Fed would've moped Nagal. I'm surprised that Bopanna even managed to go to the tiebreaker considering Roger was in his hot grass streak from 2003 to 2008.
Well, you could see here that Bopanna was a classical serve volley type of player. Early 2000s the game had already a baseline battle. His game was outdated for singles play but relevant even today in doubles.
Bopanna has solid strokes. And very good volley skills. Some of those volleys he should’ve put away tho as that’s the difference maker. You can give players just one more shot, especially Federer. Bopanna does have a weakness in lateral movement though and it showed in some of these shots.
Its a pity Bopanna came up against the Monster Fed was, especially in 2006, the peak of his career, that too on grass. Got to appreciate his very good game indeed!!

Yeah Roger even called bopanna lucky for his serving 😅😅
Who is here after bopanna won his first grand slam ❤
2nd,he already won French open mixed doubles years ago
@swapnilsharma9619 Yes, Australian Open is his first major men's grand slam doubles title.
I know he won mixed title in French open 2017.
Bopanna played an excellent 1st set
Bro sumit nagal also wins first set every time against federer also and recently against wawrinka also in prague challenger

4:53 BEAUTIFUL
met him in a plane tis year such a humble chap
Just passing through on my journey to watch every Federer match.
Bopanna is very good, does anyone know why he became only 213 during his singles career?
He looks good on grass. Other surfaces will show his weaknesses like movement, backhand, endurance.
Maybe he focused on doubles more
He's not a good player except serve ..but see 2nd set

Bad volleys
Bopanna was around #250 at this time and did pretty good vs then #1 Federer.
fun fact
there is a 20 year gap between the first time Federer became a world no.1 (2004) and the first time Bopanna became world no.1 (2024)

Is the the the highlight of roger’s best shots?
4-4 first set grass vs the great roger federer 😮😮😮
3:25 "Federer moment"
Golden legend in universal
Toying with bopanna
It was a good contest, not toying.
Federer survived
Now he has won Australian open.. Roger is retired.. hahaha..
Yo
Bopannas side is twice the width than Federer's... Unfair 😞
6-6 tie break first.set vs federer
Bopanna retired from Singles after this..

Same old result for Indian tennis in single 😂
