I love the fact that this is 100% just your amazing skill. Every tool you use is dirt cheap and your wood is free yet you make amazing art. I do my share of carving and can recognize that as many years as I've put in I still have a long way to go to get where you are.
Thank you😅😁 it’s true that the journey of being skilled in any tool can take many years, in the end I believe enjoying the craft and the carving itself is what got me to where I am now(:
I just love your attention to detail. It was amazing to watch you make this small feather 🪶. You have phenomenal skills. Thank you for sharing your artwork and craft. I was so intuned to watch you work on this fine detail. I couldn't take my eyes off you while you were carving. And you didn't even cut yourself once lol. 😊❤🎉
Watching you carve such a small feather was very soothing and mesmerising. Carving those deep spaces and thin cuts require a lot of attention and focus. You have immense experience in this field, as you were able to carve those cuts nicely and cleanly. Keep it up, friend.👌👌👍👏
Excellent work and instructions, Im currently teaching a young teenager to carve a chess set. It’s a big job and he is only 1/3 way through and finding it challenging. I will show him your film to keep him inspired to not give up.
Really beautiful! i appreciate your explanations of which tools you use and the methods you have chosen. The work is so tiny, so delicate and intricate- it is amazing!
Nice video. The feather looks great! 👍 You explained and showed it really well! 👍💪 Small carvings like this can also be very meditative. Greetings from Germany 🙏
@nadavartandwood this is my first time watching you and I'm glad I did! Well paced, good views of your skills and sweet pup! Clear explanations. The pendant is lovely! Since the stem is so thin...as a jewelry making hobbyist, I suggest wire wrapping it. You can get thin wire in various colours You can get special "step" pliers that help you shape the loop in various sizes. You will need flush cutter pliers and a pair of bent needle nose pliers. There is a compound for dipping pliers in to coat it to avoid damaging components called tool magic. Simply dip the tips in and place the handles on either side of the rim of a cup overnight for curing in the upright position. A little bit goes a long way. A clever guy like you will understand the technique very quickly.
Watching your sanding process I thought of my tiny jewelers file that are quite small and detailed, also another darker oil that has a darker tone without the greenish tint would be walnut oil.
There are several ways to implement safety, I found my own way which includes being present, paying attention and working on the right technique 🤔I would encourage anyone who feel safer with gloves or tape to use them
Do you have a chip carving knife? , they tend to have a finer point and a slightly thinner blade making it easier to clear out the tiny voids you put into your carving
What methods of drying wood do you use to avoid cracks on the end? Is there a special method? Our tree (plum and cherry) is very humid in the summer and cracks quickly Today, for the first time, I prepared small branches using the method from the GPT chat. I smeared the cut with PVA glue and wrapped it in several layers of newspaper. I hope nothing will crack Do you use fruit trees such as cherry, apple, plum?
I use these trees quite often, what I do is I remove the heart of the wood by splitting the log (the heart splits quite fast) then I store my piece in a humid place like a half closed plastic bag with some wooden chips, this way I slow down the drying process and prevent the cracking (: did your method work in the end?

Heyhey Nadav! I'd really like to see more of that amazing tripod you're using! If you don't mind sharing
Are you talking about the wooden tripod for the microphone?
@@nadavartandwood Yees!! 😁

I actually usually use walnut oil on my carvings, I really like it as well (:
I would like to try to be as precise as you!
No safety for your hands? Nice finished feather.😊

I do have but the ones that I know actually had quite a thick blade🤔 probably didn’t find a good brand

@@nadavartandwood Yes, PVA glue method good works on ends of the log. Instead of wood chips, I use several layers of newspaper
why scratching works for me??
Гора родила мишь
Will wearing that in the airport set off the drug dogs? lol
😂 I surely hope not
