    Making things simple for the future is great idea and make them last will be a blessing in disguise. Very creative for sure. Make the most out of your time, go sail some so you don't get stale, keep smiling Ross, many people might think "What's he up to", keep em wondering !!

    Funny you should mention that because I was thinking that same thing about your audio sometimes when you are talking on the hull. I didn't make a comment because I thought that mostly your videos are done quite good and I didn't think that bashing your poor audio quality at times was adversely was affecting your story. I still get great pleasure watching your journey each week so keep up the good work.

    Looks great. If bonding in any more pvc pipe through the bulkheads it might be worth using the joiners rather than the pipe. That way it is easy to connect pipe to the bulkheads if neccesarry, and if nothing else you have rounded edges on the through bulkheads without any sanding.

    It's always in the back of my head, what did I forget? I plan to run plenty of chase tubes so I have more than enough redundancy to add stuff later. Found a nice, relatively inexpensive PVC glass fiber reinforced pipe from of all places a central vac retailer. Cheaper than the bog box store stuff. Only draw back is they don't have a large array of fittings like plumbing pipes. Anyhow, great episode Rosco. Stay cool & keep 'em coming. Rickster.

    It is really inspiring how you always seem to be 4 thinks ahead of the curve.
    Putting in conduit now, instead of when everything is sealed up, has inspired me to make it a regular part of how I think about things from now on.

    Thanks for putting in all of the time and effort it takes to make these videos. I watch enough of these channels to realize that's its essentially a part time job after you work your full time job and build a boat, so kudos to you. I have a question about the crash bulkhead drains though if I could. You seem to have about two feet of PVC into the crash bulkhead, isn't that angled down as it's the bow? Won't the condensate pool around the bulkhead until you get enough that it makes it's way back up hill and into the pipe?

    • @LifeOnTheHulls
      @LifeOnTheHulls  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Gidday Bob.Thanks for the great comment.The pvc pipe is finished and sealed flush with the bulkhead so there is only 8mm of space below the skin fitting before water will flow.All up about 50mls of water as there is virtually no volume in the bow below the bulkhead.I have considered filling this with thickened epoxy to eliminate and water in any case.Thanks for joining in .Ross

    • @bobadam7021
      @bobadam7021 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@LifeOnTheHulls I think you answered my question. I understood about the height, but it was more how much further forward from the crash bulkhead does that PVC go? When you showed the piece it looked like a 2' length and I wasn't sure which side of the bulkhead you left all of that extra on. Did you ever think about filling up the space with an inert gas? A little bung on top of the bulk head and then pump nitrogen into the bottom for a while. It's probably way over kill. Keep doing what you're doing and pay no attention to me thinking out loud.

    Nice video Ross (as always ;-) )
    Greate thinking with the conduit.
    sounds like you have the same problem as i do, when it comes to things placed down on the floor, at 193cm hight i always sugest to my girlfriend that we should raise the floor hight ;-)
    Take care buddy

      Hey Mark.I am 6ft 3.When the matress will be added it will yield anither foot in length as the mattess will be cut at 45degrees to match the lined chamfer panel.Should be well long enough and is a queen in width.

    Are you going to paint the underside of that floor before you secure it down? Or is it fine as it is, the bare laminate over the foam?

    • @LifeOnTheHulls
      @LifeOnTheHulls  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Under floor finish is waxed finishing resin.Similar to flowcoat but polyester wth added wax in Styrene.This provides a sealed finish with no colour.Great if I want to glass something ie bracket or the like at a later date as all is required is awipewithacetone and a light sand.Painted finish would be insanely difficult to prep undernearh.Thanks for the comment.Rossco

    Mate just make sure you put a Draw line in the tubes so when time comes to add what ever the line is there to be used,and leave it in the tube after just in case something else has to go in. lol Ps: I think you will need to cut a foot off each leg so you will fit into that Bed :) Hahahaha

    Why did you not run full lengths of PVC pipe through this sealed compartment because if you now want to run cables you are going to have to fish for the holes?

    • @donaldguillaume5690
      @donaldguillaume5690 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Full runs are ideal if you already know all your routing and aren't likely to change anything. With limited access once those floors are down, cutting into conduits could be just as hard as drilling through the bulkheads.
      Granted you could place access in each compartment, but you can't be certain where in the compartment it will be needed.

      This boat is being built to a standard similar to every other pridyction bost so in thus case ni I wont ever expwrienxe freezing conditions in Australia or New Zealand or the South Pacific.We simply dont have the latitude to experiencing icing and freezing with water temps never below 10degrees C.All the best Ross
