Both you and Janet deserve to be proud of what you've accomplished. You've come so far and you've still got a lot to do ,but now you can see what you will have when the day comes you are finished and you both can enjoy all the hard work you've put into building this beautiful boat. It's great seeing the excitement and how happy you both are. This project is so well thought out and built so strong its going to be the boat everyone wants to have. Just pace yourself and try not to over do, I think just about everyone gets concerned with you working to hard. Congratulations she's going to be one beautiful boat that's going to give you years of enjoyment. Both you and Janet deserve all the good times ,you've both earned them.
After the Euphoria of the join last week I expected this week's dose of joy and positive energy to be a little muted, but no. The skill, enthusiasm and sheer bottle was up to, or perhaps even beyond, the usual levels. You two are amazing!
Any person achieving anything by the sweat of their own brow should be proud, doubly so, when you're making what has to be one of the best ever made, cats out there. I've seen quite a few guts of these things (mostly online) and the horror stories that accompany them and i can say without shadow of a doubt in my mind that this is indeed one of the best. This is better actually than what some millionaires get, based on how many core repairs some of their yachts get.
I can never understand why you don't have more subscribers, I know it's not a wooden boat but because of that the work is tougher, harder on your body and you have to deal with all the itchy itchy sanding and prep. All those guys have to deal with is a little sawdust. Anyways, Cheers from Canada
Roscoe what an amazing job your are doing. I keep saying you are a very very intelligent man to build your own boat like this and I've watched you from the beginning. You know what you have to do and how all the chemistry works so I have faith in you that it will be so amazing. I think I will take a trip down to see you Launch when the time comes. Keep your eye on the prize One step at a time . Brilliant video well done Janet for all the work you do as well. great team. xxx.
Just when I think I have the chemistry down , it bites me n the bum, only this week I have so many chemistry issues, it is no dark art, but the factors affecting viability can be many. Thanks for watching and following we really appreciate it. Ross.
Wow, I always was puzzled with those helm stairs, now I see it and you’re a legend. Yes, you’re one brave man, balls enough to cut that gigantic hole, you Fox you, scaring us half to death!
Easy to see that your spirits were lifted this week after joining the deck. You and Janet have my admiration for the endless amount of work that you do in good cheer!
You look 10 years younger after last week, it seem's one of those never ending projects, but at least it looks like a boat, great video's keep up the brilliant work really look forward to the next episode
Yep, that took balls! I can remember addind a few portals in a boat. I sat and stared at that gunnell for hours before I started and even then I questioned my sanity as the first tool pierced a perfectly good boat. Its a lot like skydiving. Why the hell would you jump out of a working plane.... Good on you friend! Great episode sir!!!
Hi guys last week was a blast those mates of yours Rossco sure did talk a lot but as you said man you all got the job done putting the photos up is a great idea l can see that you and Janet are really enthusiastic eager to keep going love this build there is no other TH-cam channel that is building a cat from scratch just fantastic what you have done such a quality job cheers mate
I meant to comment last week that if you felt a breeze from the East that was Texas exhaling once you got the deck down. Great Rosco and all your chatty Mates. Also on this video if the Admiral approves you’re in good shape.
Ross if I have made that hole it would be trouble but I have total faith in your skills and its going to be a million dollars. You take it to the next level mate. I'm not one for sanding and fairing, the dust would kill me. It must be in your veins. Can't wait to see it finished, its going to be incredible.
Hi guys. Glad to see both of you recovered from the epic episode last week’s video was. Holes only count if they let water in. Other then that they are a design enhancement.
Very very impressed. You are so meticulous. I hope you are banking some brain cells for your future sailing days. It must be like having a 2 year old, always thinking 10 steps ahead. Looking fantastic mate.
Structural strength. A lot of weight in that section and for many years to come. 3 sheets of plywood. One per sid and for the centre lift area, glassed and bonded will give you all the support you will need so that there is no flexing. Just a thought! No, there will be no divorse over that lol
Good grief! How you have the guts to chop away at a finished part I don't know. I understand the forethought and preparation, but still, getting the saw out and making those cuts, not sure how I'd feel about doing that. I think that's the power of having a clear vision of what you want it to be and also being extremely skilled with the medium you are working in, knowing that you can fix it and make it stronger than what it was. More power to you guys!
It can be a daunting scene for sure, but I am confident of the final look I am trying to achieve along with the structural integrity of the boa t in general being front of mind. Ross
Very nice Ross You are absolutely right in,, whats the fun in just building it as it is. You got to have those personal things made, i am exactly like that too. And that helm station are going to be brilliant, just love it. Take care Buddy All the best.
Boy that must’ve been a bit nerve racking cutting that size hole for the new helm setup ! But I can now see what the final configuration will be and I agree it will be well worth the additional work! GREAT JOB !!! Thanks for sharing !
Mate this place is full of spiders.I have a gatekeeper one in the factory toilet that is a huntsman spider. He is at least 6 inches across.I personally love them as they eat mosquitoes and other bad spiders.Cheers Ross
Sadly it looks as if I have a worker crack showing but it is the skin coloured high viz trim that sets of the look. I really need a black one, feel free to donate one. make sure it is a huge one. Ross
Quite the verbal thought of your helm modification. i think a little of last week's parlez carried over. It will work out! Now, to coin your phrase>>>>>> get on with it! LOL
Hi Ross ! Looking at stair mods you're applying, and while I can't see an escape hatch of necessary size for you, maybe Janet could squeeze out a rectangular porthole. But then it occurred to me is one even advisable ? Generally cat's don't sink since the don't require massive ballast attached to keel... if upended while belowdecks, that may bear thinking about vs an escape hatch. What do the rules require in your area ? Yes, yes, I see there remains a lot to "thunk on" in design decisions. (I used to work in AC Carrier and Submarine Design Facilities at Newport News Shipbuilding) everything is a host of compromises ! Think thrice, measure twice, cut once... (or more if needed he he)
I know it Earl,I am an extremely lucky man,we have been married for 30 years and have 2 of the most beautul children who are happily on their way.Pinch ourselves every day ,or should I say ,scratch ourselves with the incessant fibreglass itch All the best .Rossco
Ok, couple of things this week....What is the reason for not glueing the gunwales last week? (was it just not practical?) also the modified pilot station was in fact for Janet wasn't it? Finally 1 more observation, I love it when I hear hints of her English accent come through. All things said you are a ratbag Ross but we all love you 2 and one day it will be finished much to our great envy.
Im starting to think who ever sold you the molds did not sell matching molds.. while 15 millimeters doesnt seem to be that much.. the fact is, youve had to modify the top mold to fit the bottom mold in many places... .Just an observation..
Nag,the mould was cut in half, drooped, and sagged over the years, but I do believe they never exactly matched,All good and very easy to fix.Ihave reinforced and matched them as xloae possible.Ae are talking g about a 44foot long,25 foot wide mould that weighs tonnes and had several moves in its life.
@@LifeOnTheHulls tyvm for the response. I just dont understand why you had to split the port and starboard upper deck to fit the lower deck.. understandably there is swelling/shrinkage from one part of the country to the other.... Im not trying to make drama of any kind. just observing what I see. Again, tanks for the correction. However, if the mold "drooped" to the center it would not need an expanded gap to the top deck.... obviously Im missing the point.. maybe your fixing the centerline expanded the outer lines of the original boat lines is the answer... (fyi, no criticism from me on that)... it just got me thinking ... Anyways, love the videos.. and love your workmanship.
You never fail to impress with your workmanship, ideas and actions.
Well done the both of you.
Wow it looks like a real boat now. This is a really big milestone Ross. Congratulations 🎉
Thanks Ash

Man that’s crazy, I was gripping my chair when you started cutting. Will be cool too see how it all turns out 🍺
Still a ways to go yet Quintin.Cheers Ross
... two things ... "what would be the fun in that" and " it's my boat" .... love it ... what a great build ...
Thanks buddy
Ross you are bringing custom to custom sail boats. You have the know how and the time to do it right. You are definitely making this boat your own!!!!
Any person achieving anything by the sweat of their own brow should be proud, doubly so, when you're making what has to be one of the best ever made, cats out there. From someone who struggled to stick the halves of an Airfix model together you have my respect.
You've big balls Ross to chop that! I thought cutting the bow open to get the extra fix was a risky move but this one beats it. Hats off to you.
People who say just go sailing don't have the vision or ability to do the work. You do the work now so you can enjoy it without compromise later.
I can never understand why you don't have more subscribers, I know it's not a wooden boat but because of that the work is tougher, harder on your body and you have to deal with all the itchy itchy sanding and prep. All those guys have to deal with is a little sawdust. Anyways, Cheers from Canada

1:36 that's the first time I can recognize what the finished boat will look like. Catamarans are awesome
Haha,I still haven't seen it together out of the tent, but I now have a very good feel for the internal spaces. Thanks for watching.Ross
All the hard work is paying off, it’s always nice seeing the hard parts done
You look 10 years younger after last week, it seem's one of those never ending projects, but at least it looks like a boat, great video's keep up the brilliant work really look forward to the next episode
Thanks John.We just have to stay the course as it has no value till it's done in reality Ross
Love your energy and enthusiasm, bouncing back after the behemoth evolution of bonding down the deck structure.😀👍⛵️
"Proud" as well you should be. This channel is awesome and I enjoy watching the build very much. You and Janet make an amazing team✌️
Thanks Kimberley, appreciate you watching the channel.Rossco
Love the work on the new helm station, and really glad to see how much weight is off your shoulders now the deck is attached…

Well done, MASSIVE achievement I never realised just how much work was involved.
Congrats, Take care.

It always amazes me what you can modify. Very clever and you will reap the rewards for decades.
Captain Janet has a good ring to it.
Looking awesome, the look of the boat is coming through now for those who can’t think in 3d. Janet will enjoy sundowners on the love seat mate🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼🍷🍷
That day had better come soon mate,I think we are both running out of steam.Only joking mate, love the satisfaction of building something.Cheers Nick.
I've lost a bit of head room...? Yes. But you gained a great area for a beer fridge. Lol. You are doing such good job.
Ross you and your crew did a great job gluing it together

@@LifeOnTheHulls lol. Can’t wait… 👍🏼
big balls mate!
Love your work.
Thanks buddy. Rossco
Was that bloody huge spider on the wall at around 22 to 22:33? It looked like you could put a saddle on it and ride off into the sunset 😱
Mate this place is full of spiders.I have a gatekeeper one in the factory toilet that is a huntsman spider. He is at least 6 inches across.I personally love them as they eat mosquitoes and other bad spiders.Cheers Ross
Sir. I hate to say but you should have try Turning the Step so the step face the Rear of the Sailboat.
Have you thought of making that storage area into a drinks fridge like on the ligh waves save always going indoors for a beer
I reckon that will be the best place for the extra bevies Greg.
I have started saving money. Your cat is the only one I want to buy. Can we talk
Might be a while before she comes up for sale mate. Cheers
You really need another belt Rossco, the color is all wrong! 7:07😂
Sadly it looks as if I have a worker crack showing but it is the skin coloured high viz trim that sets of the look. I really need a black one, feel free to donate one. make sure it is a huge one. Ross

Not likely although I love the idea, I want comfort and the space that comes with a Cat. Rossco

Haha,hold your horses mate.Cheers
I'll be shocked if this boat creeks even a little bit.
That is the ultimate goal mate.
