Fun it was. We had several weeks of prep time in the neighborhood to begin the boys education of spiders, before their first attempt in the wild. They were very impressive!
You have taught them well, Bob! The smaller kid in the red reminds me a bit of myself as a kid in the 1980s, with the (young) "Tony Hawk skateboarder haircut!" I'll bet that kid is good on a skateboard! Great to see you passing on your vast knowledge to the younger generation! I hope that you, your family and your young apprentices have a very wonderful and blessed Christmas, and I pray that all of you have a happy, safe and blessed New Years 2025! May the good Lord bring ALL of you a very happy 2025 with many blessings, and many great spider adventures! Kind regards to you and your helpers!
So good to hear from you Stanley, it's been quite awhile since we last talked with each other. I spent three weeks with hese neighborhood boys giving them a basic spider 101 class (lol). And then we headed off to the fields to go from text book, to actual hunting. I was very pleased with how well they did, and we had a great time! If you can find my FB page you might enjoy three Christmas videos I made about the Christmas story. I called it "Christmas Epiphanies." Merry Christmas to you and yours as well, and may His Joy be evident as you and loved ones celebrate God's greatest love-gift to the world!
i love seeing u teach people at a young age to love spiders instead of hate them. i was 4 when I stopped fearing spiders. A daddy lone lags was on my arm so i told my brother and he just told me it was a tiggle spider and they r nice. after that i started loveing all spiders
Looks like everyone had fun spider hunting, what a successful hunt! Looking forward to the next one. Have a wonderful day Mr Bob the Spider Hunter 🕷 I'm currently keeping a jumping spider and a wolf spider. (Separately, of course) I enjoy watching them hunt and take down their prey. Spiders are cool. 🕷🖤
Hey, good to hear from you BB! I have a very nice size Bold jumping spider female that has been with me for awhile. Her days are numbered, but shes been fun and has become a good pet, who is well cared for! Merry Christmas, and Thx, for ur comment!
@BobTheSpiderHunter thank you 😊 Jumping spiders are so cool. Mine fell into the froth of my freshly made coffee and I rescued her. I named her coffee and she's eating like a machine. Haha she's molted once already. I'm sure your bold Jumping spider is well looked after. It's sad when they go but heaps of fun watching them. Have a wonderful time with your family during the holidays. God bless and keep you all always in Jesus Mighty and Holy Name. 🩵✝️
@@TheBlubunni Oh my gosh! I had one do that to me too, but fortunately my coffee had cooled off and the jumper was just fine, but she smelled like coffee, so I gave her a bath! lol, and she was good to go!!! Your story made me laugh out loud, and brought back to mind my own experience of "jumper in the Joe!"
@BobTheSpiderHunter wow! What are the chances?! That's an awesome story Bob! Made me smile reading it. 😊🕷 I too gave my little girl a bath and then decided to keep her. Thank you for sharing your story with me. I appreciate it.
Agree! That was something I have rarely seen with these banded spiders, at least that many males! Have seen it with some other orb weavers like the Trichonephila clavipes, found in Florida, the Carolinas, and other warmer climates.
I am not sure if u saw my new vids yet but u have not commented on any of them. If comments r turned off on new vids its because they keep turning off by themselves. but I always turn them back on So u might want to check again later
OK, Micah, I don't think I got any notification...but thanks for the heads up, I've been waiting to see ur vids! When I get home from church, I'll check them out. I've been busy making part 3 of my Christmas Advent video on the epiphanies of the Christmas story. Have a great day, and Merry Christmas!

Taking kids out on a "bug hunt"! Looks like fun.

Wow I've never seen that many male spiders gathered around a female! Usually I only see one!
