    Dom used the Biosense breath meter in cancer research. Those ketone strips were getting expensive with daily testing, so I got a Biosense so I would be able to sustain therapeutic ketosis during chemotherapy infusions. Currently cancer free. Thank you Prof Thomas Seyfried 😊👍🥳

      You do not have to subscribe to anything after you buy the Biosense device (just under $300). I have one, and it's been very helpful to understand the nuances of what makes ketones rise & fall in a day. No finger prick, no urine strips. HOWEVER, while it isn't as accurate as finger prick testing (I've often done the two side by side), it gets you in the ball park.
      So accuracy-wise, I'd say the urine test strips are the least accurate, Biosense is more accurate, and the Keto-Mojo blood test is the most accurate.

    In fact, the way I see it, there aren't really any age-related diseases, as these diseases really come about due to the result of accumulation. The only association with age is that it takes time for the poisons to accumulate and do their damage. For example, what used to be considered an age-related disease (CVD) is now being seen in younger and younger people. In my mind, this destroys the concept of being "age-related," Annette. Just a thought.

      Dr Thomas Seyfried has a Ketomojo meter. It measures blood glucose and ketones. If you can get your glucose low enough and your ketones high enough the ratio will be 3 or lower and this is a high therapeutic range- for cancer and epilepsy.... At least that's how I understand it. Disagree totally. The thing about it is its very flexible so yiu have to use your own thinking rather than just read a list of what to eat. It is a somewhat misleading name though as people tend to associate it with their facorite italian or greek food but its helped my health markers incredibly but as I already said, its plus of flexibilty is for the right person a great plus

      @@georgecav Well there’s meat based Mediterranean and plant based. There’s pasta and wine based. The problem is we know not everything Mediterranean people eat is healthy. Researchers never can tell without locking people away and controlling diet their whole lives. Fish has plastics and mercury. Pasta causes diabetes. I’ll stick with beef and eggs and occasionally chicken and pork. Cleanest diet ever. Don’t miss anything and so freeing. Food no longer controls me. I can do without for long periods.

      Mediterranean - There is no one diet. There’s meat based Mediterranean (which always gets ignored to propagandize the magic veggies) and then you have pasta and wine Mediterranean lol. There’s plant based here and there but majority is meat based. They’re just like Americans in that they all eat differently. They aren’t some weird monoculture. It should always be explained what Mediterranean diet means. Fish has mercury. Veggies and seeds/nuts have natural brain toxins that promote mental health problems (did for me). Meat is our food. Always was before agriculture ruined us. Beef and eggs are a complete diet. Make it 30 days and you won’t go back. Expect sugar carb withdrawals first 2 weeks. Oxylate dumping (veggie toxins built up in your tissues get released when your body isn’t fed them). Feels like withdrawals also.

    I’m glad you disagree. There is zero nutritional consensus on what is part of & what is excluded on a Mediterranean diet. The average person thinks fish , salad, olive oil. If one intends to be scientific and be able to reproduce certain results we need to know exactly. My statement is not an opinion but rather fact. You’re entitled to your opinion. Maybe you should investigate further before you give an opinion based on ignorance. I would expect a PHD in nutritional research to know this fact.

    Can someone explain why you would take exogenous ketones to lose weight? Wouldn’t your body use those for energy before it uses body fat? I’m asking about only weight loss. Not brain related issues ketone use.

    • @BeefNEggs057
      @BeefNEggs057 2 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      It would be for days when your body didn’t make enough ketones to feel decent or fight the disease you’re fighting. Bad sleep and stress and eating too much (even zero carb can bump up insulin enough to lower ketones) is a good example of why your ketones might be low despite eating very low carb. More of a performance improver or useful for fighting disease like cancer/Alzheimer’s on days you need a boost based on blood measurements. I have better results with daily MCT. Boz also has said having ketones (even exogenously) can encourage the endogenous production of ketones. Not sure where she got that idea - likely just what she noticed treating people, family and herself.

    Doctor Boz said that for a person with parkinson's a ketogenic diet will really help but their ability to do it is laughable... I wish she would have explained that statement. Why could a person with parkinson's not do a ketogenic diet?

    • @BeefNEggs057
      @BeefNEggs057 2 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Mental impairment would make learning a new diet challenging. That would require a coach or cook to control the food for the patient. Memory and cognition is important to get started - don’t forget the cookies are not for you dad. 😂

    • @Eclecticladylove
      @Eclecticladylove 2 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@BeefNEggs057 Yes I can understand and agree that having a mental impairment condition would make it difficult to learn a new diet. I don't know anyone who has Parkinson's who does not have a caregiver, but I also don't know if that is common. So basically there is no physical reason why a person with parkinson's could not do keto, it's simply that they might not be able to do it for themselves without help, I guess.
