- Hey All! I had had enough of the Arizona desert and really needed to be among the trees, so I packed up and headed for the San Diego County Mountains. Mind you, I knew that they were expecting some snow, but I had NO IDEA what was to follow....seems I arrived just in time for a SEVERE WEATHER WARNING - complete with several days of snow storms, extremely heavy winds, and a high possibility of getting stranded up here longer than originally planned. So, I figured I might as well bring you along for the ride and post daily updates - so we can experience this crazy event together :)

I love Oakzanita! We used to go camping there in the 1970's, before it became a Thousand Trails park. My husband and I spent our honeymoon in Julian, and we enjoy the apple season there! Hope you enjoy your time in the mountains...I live in the terrible desert (born and raised) LOL! But, we love escaping to the mountains between here and San Diego. Take care!
Oh wow! This campground goes way back! 😮 I wish I could see Julian before I head out, but I think it'll have to wait until my next visit 😁

OMG, you are braver than me. I was worried about 75 mph gusts tonight in northwest AZ. But then relaxed when i saw that I was only going to have to deal with 65 mph. Whew! Hope you fare ok. 🙏🙏🙏
How crazy is that!! 🤪 Feeling better about 65 mph winds??!! I worry when it's only 30mph 🤦🏼♀️

Good eye my friend!! Yes, they were so filthy from running a muck in the AZ desert - I think they each had like a lb. of desert dust on them, each!! 😮And when I petted them, a plume of dust would rise up from their backs 🤣🤣 I'm soooo glad that's over and done with...well, until next year anyway 😜

I didn't see you here at Quartzsite! I'm sorry.. it's gusts upto 58 mph here in Quartzsite with sustained winds 30 to 40mph..you have more subs than me
I'm sorry we missed each other too ☹️ I decided to go last minute and stayed kind of low key/off on my own for the most part. But maybe next year? Oh, and now you have one more sub 😘

Well if the temperature's are going to be near 40 or possibly above I don't think you've got too much to worry about as far as snow. It might snow but I doubt it will stick around very long.
Here's hoping!! I've done tons of what I call "24 hour snow" - I LOVE it!! Perfect for RV winter camping...but I've never had multiple days of snow, without a melt off in between, so this will be an adventure for sure 😉
Kim, are you crazy? You'll need snow chains if it gets bad. (I know you're not crazy but be safe.)
Well, maybe not crazy...but it's definetly another case of being lured by the IDEA of being in the snow vs. the REALITY of it 🤦🏼♀️ Good news is, I have lots of other RVers around, plus the campground staff, so I'm in good company who have good resources. Snow plow guy comes Monday, so I think I will head out as soon as the roads in here are cleared 😉
@@RoamTownGirl Stay safe! I'm down in North County. Hit me up for coffee or something if you happen to come down this way and want to meet up. Did you know you can overnight in a couple of the Oceanside Harbor Lots, for a fee? You can't let the dogs run on the beach though, just leashed in the lot and on the sidewalks.
