Vee, I cried during your speech. It was so good and as someone who has fought for my education, I relate to so many parts of your speech.

VEE!!! I am speechless! I needed to hear this speech-- I am having a March/April kinda time (if you get what I mean). Your timing to upload this video was immaculate. I feel empowered to push through and finish my assignments. Like Tina said " I'm almost there". 🖤

Vee’s journey is so beautiful. Brings me to tears! From teaching us study tips on TH-cam and her essay crisis at Oxford to now giving speeches at the same institution and chasing all her dreams. “What if we fly?”🥹

While I understand your point regarding the current situation in the area of Palestine, I think it's only fair to mention that the group in control of Gaza, namely Hamas, has been the number one reason preventing girls and other underprivileged groups, such as LGBTQ Palestinians from getting access to education. While you didn't say anything about Israel, the mention of genocide right after you mentioned Palestine made it sound like you blame a nation that is only defending itself against constant threat and terrorism from a Jihadist terrorist group for an ongoing educational crisis that has nothing to do with it. This is a prime example of anti-semitism, which is the oldest form of hate that plagues our society.

you sound corrupt minded and vague, please get education

    • @Lilah1848

It's not anti-semitic to speak out against the oppressive, genocidal regime being carried out by Israel now and for the past several decades. In the same way you view Israel's actions as the right of a country to defend itself, it is within the rights of Palestinians to do the same. Israel has destroyed several Palestinian educational institutions recently, millions are displaced, children are not learning they are trying to survive, and anyone with an interest in education should be able to speak openly about the injustice of it.

@@Lilah1848Israel left Gaza in 2005. The fact that the terrorist organization, Hamas, hasn't established a functioning government, and has instead focused all of their energy and money they get from unassuming westerners into terrorism, and making their leader terrorists billionaires (meanwhile executing people for like the same-sex, and denying LGBTQ people, women and girls the right to education and voice in their community) is NOT Israel's problem. The Palestinians have the right to rape, execute, butcher, and abduct teenagers at a music festival, and elderly people in their homes? Then you claim that you are on the right side of history? What a joke! As awful as displacement and destroying educational institutions as it is you forgot to acknowledge a very minute but important detail: who is hiding in these institutions? Everyone with half a brain knows that what Hamas is doing, namely hiding amongst civilians to rack up the death rate of civilians is in a violation of international law. But then again who cares about international law when the UN appointed an Iranian ambassador (the country that kills countless of women for defying islamic law, butchers people for being gay, and supports global scale terrorism) as a "Human Rights" chair. No human rights here, just yet another smoke chamber to mask the true intentions of those who exploit the guise of governance and diplomacy to perpetuate violence and oppression. This conflict is not about land. It's sad to see how much much global discourse has devolved in the past couple of months, and the sheer cognitive dissonance that seems to have impacted so many people. As another Ph.D student with an interest in education all I can tell you is that injustice comes in many shapes and forms, and your ideology seems to stand firmly for injustice. BTW if you want to talk about destruction, how about the number of NICUs that Hamas tried to bomb? These are your "freedom fighters". Terrorists in civilian clothes, killing, raping and butchering innocents, meanwhile treating their own people like human shields with no rights or self-determination.
In the words of the Hamas terrorists: "The Day of Judgement will not come about until Moslems fight the Jews (killing the Jews), when the Jew will hide behind stones and trees. The stones and trees will say O Moslems, O Abdulla, there is a Jew behind me, come and kill him. Only the Gharkad tree, (evidently a certain kind of tree) would not do that because it is one of the trees of the Jews."
      Peace! ✌☮

Speaking out against genocide is antisemitic? Israhell is a violent apartheid regime that has so far murdered 20,000 Palestinian children. Come up with better propaganda zionazi.
