The application is right on point! And I would like to say that once we ask God to guide us in our decision making, we have to then be obedient to what he tells us to do. Right now I am stuck in delayed obedience or completely still doing my own thing instead of doing what God has told me to do. I feel so bad, but feeling bad isn’t enough. I have to learn to fully trust God in every area of my life. He knows what’s best! I am trying to learn to let go and trust.

As I reading this passage this week I was questioning what would have happened if Joshua had went to God about the Gibeonites. Would He have told Joshua to wipe them out or have mercy on them?

Great application summary Luke. I am taking a Med Surg class and the content, instructors, assignments can be overwhelmingly interesting and lenghty. I do my best to ask God for direction in all assignments I do. This application reminded me of the earlier days in my course I would do things without consulting Him,!

So the Gibeonites, instead of repenting of evil and seek mercy like Rahab in Jericho, choose deceit and servitude instead. These Canaanites knew of the true God, knew all about Him and instead sold their sovereignty and potential for a better life under God's caring hand for a proverbial meal of lentil soup like Esau did.
