I came to live in Thane, Kolbad at the age of 2 years in 1952. The St . Antony Bakery was our land lady. I did my schooling in St. John's...., my College and service on and around Thane. Those were the days of the Tongas for transport. The first auto rickshaw in Thane name was Sagun I remember thaloa Pali water till the backyard of Kopineshwar Mandir. Vast change in the Thanes' old railway station looks, the 2 theatres- Ashok and Prabhat. etc. My life in Thane completed in 2010, when on retirement shifted to my native place in Kerala after a long 58 golden years of dwelling there in Thane. A nostalgic feeling now.
Oh. I am born in Thane 1960. Used to stay near Thane railway station. Near Chendani Galli. Lohar Ali. Kapila niwas was the building's name. Primary school was Balvikas Mandir, in Market. Khandelwal, Joshi Masala Dosa, Tambe's hotel were there. So many memories of Thane. Thanks for the video.
I am Thane resident since 1960. I was then a nursery boy. Thane the then was very small as compared today. It is now full fledged metro city. It is unique in many respect. It is yes lake city with excellent infrastructure. Cultred educated city to live. In your video you missed some important landmarks. In hotels you missed kunjvihar restaruunt very famous for again vada pav and it's Lassi. Prashant corner, shataranj farsan, krishna sweets, Great tip top plaza, and many other . sweet corner landmark shop on Gokhle road. Famous old siddhivinayak mandir at jambhli naka. It is a city to live happily.
After my marriage when I was come in thane in 2005 still this city gives me prosperous life full of energy gives me in this city, I love thane so much ♥ ❤

When I stayed in thane between 1995 to 2000. There is a Maharastrian Veg Thali close to station in West Side. Then there is ayyappa temple in vartak nagar.

THERE ARE 3 WATERFALLS 1ST ONE IS ABOUT 1 KM FROM THE START AND OTHER 2 WATERFALLS ARE ABOUT 2-3 KMS FROM THE START BUT IT IS THE ONE OF THE BEST TREKKING POINTS IN THANE AND ONE OF THE MOST LOVED FROM TREKKERS FROM THANE AND MUMBAI ALSO BECAUSE OF ITS QUITE CONVINCE TO GET THERE....
