I don't think this statement comes across as pure praise-seeking behaviour; rather it seemed to be supporting testimony for a level-headed perspective and a polite acknowledgement of Charles Barkley's point - at worst coupled with a touch of excess pride in the "50+ hours" phrasing. Any disproportionate attempt to belittle the sentiment beyond that comes off as somewhat ironically immature (in my view).
Also: RasLyons, have you noticed that your response was picked up verbatim by a user named Zane Turner-e3b - linked to an empty account somewhat suspiciously created only today - in a nearby comment chain? This kind of rampant plagiarism has started to become tiresome to me.

Imagine NBA load management working like a 9-to-5 job with structured vacation and sick days. Players would get set days off throughout the season-using “vacation days” to recharge and “sick days” when they need rest or recovery. This would allow athletes to manage their health without missing critical games, balancing performance and well-being just like any other job. This will be the most fair approach.

To be fair, Larry playing through injuries like that was why he didn't have another 4-5 productive years in the league and potentially another ring. The difference with Joel is his agent/advisors, and the 6ers are soft. Joel is making his money, which we shouldn't blame him for, but he is not in it for the championships and doesn't have extended mental toughness that it requires. I am always on the side of the players. This is the exception. Kareem abdul jabbar was 7’2, traveling cross country and banging with mchale, Parrish, and laimbeer. He was still playing 80 games in his late 30s.

The difference is KAJ took care of his body. Embiid is 280-300lbs when he could easily be a strong 240-250.

Could you imagine Embiid pulling this stunt with a coach like Chuck Daly? Chuck would trade him to the Italian league!
