To be fair, the games had differing storylines that barely connect with one another, if at all. Not trying to defend Uwe Boll, mind you, but the games hardly connected with each other, story-wise.
This is one of my favorite reviews you've done Film Brain, plus it's also the first one I saw back in late 2009... time really flies. Waiting on you to re-post your Project X review too.
I saw you hide you're smile when you made the joke about the guy and his c.o. sharing body heat Matthew! Good editing. Thanks for your work btw! I live across the pond so I haven't heard of a bunch of the movies you review. Keep up the good work dude!
The helicopter scene is actually totally viable due to the tension of the wire. Also the saw scene makes sense cause they are at a lumber mill as stated in the beginning of the movie and the laser jack puts his hand through to activate the saw is how tree strippers work. Btw, I thought the side characters didn’t do half bad of a job. They were the only reason I got through the entirety of the movie.
It also makes sense that the saw can cut through the supersoldier, even though their skin stops bullets. Saw that big cut through wood and can even cut metal, and both of those can stop bullets too at the right thickness
That is sad. I actually liked his movies in a weird totally insane way. I mean they were like comedic heroin. Like a drug it makes you extremly happy due to the laughable weirdness and stupidity..... it also destroys your intelligence and you feel extremly ashamed after having been subject to it. Damm, I feel extremly weird knowing that I will not see Bolls masterpieces anymore.
Someone’s probably already said this, but bullet proof stuff is pretty easy to stab. It’s an issue that they’ve been working on, because it’s sort of a hazard for police officers and prison guards
Y'know, I honestly like the premise of _Far Cry,_ it sounds intriguing as an action-adventure, especially given how the series is still going on very well. Shame that the movie version was done by Uwe Boll, who when it comes to making film adaptations of video games, will do practically everything *_BUT_* remain faithful to the source. But seriously, I myself as an aspiring screenwriter, _Fry Cry_ really sounds like something I could love to make into a movie.
But also *Fun Fact:* Boll had attempted a bid to direct the _Warcraft_ film, but Blizzard outright turned him down, and he claimed that they had told him, "We will not sell the movie rights, not to you… *_especially not to you._* Because it's such a big online game success, maybe a bad movie would destroy that ongoing income, what the company has with it."
Actually postal was pretty good trash comedy. It's tone follows game's dark sarcastic humour. Maybe Uwe must make more trash dark comedies, not action movies.
and also I think he was holding a SPAS shotgun which is semi auto. so by pumping the shotgun after every shot he was using a bullet, and then he pumped it and wasted an unused shell, and then using one, having half the shells as usual.
some of these German actors aren't bad, so I wonder if they work with Boll since there aren't really enough German productions to be picky, ore since "worked with one of the worst of all time" is an hipster badge of honor they don't want to miss.
the answer is much more simple than you think... they do it for the paycheck.. boll has the connections and they need the money.. the german movie industry is not really comparable to hollywood.. if they want to have enough money to live, they need regular work, no multi million dollar deals
The idea for the superhuman soldiers by itself wasn't bad even if it did replace non-human mutants, but the execution of it was horrible. The film is also just too German. I don't have something against German people but a bunch of German in Far Cry just feels kind of weird and off. I did like Udo Kier as the villain, even though it's a Hollywood stereotype to make the villain have an accent. Sam the German guy in Far Cry 3 mentioned the stereotypes of bad guys having an accent.
This made me cringe immeasurably because I actually don't mind Til Schweiger as an actor, though all I had seen him in before this was King Arthur and Inglorious Basterds. This and the Bad Movie Beatdown of New Year's Eve have made me have to think about reassessing my opinions...
I'm not going to be well liked for saying this (but as the most resent comments are from almost a year ago so I think I'm safe) but there is one area I can give Uwe Boll some credit in. Yes , you just read that. As some one that did love playing the game, the films change of "gene modded troops with clear weakpoints" is much better than the games "gene modded things with lots of claws and teeth that just won't bloody well die no matter how many bullets you put in them".
Mang...what's up with the games and then Uwe Boll directing it?! xD In the end, it will end up to be a bad one but he's still kept making this things.. xD
9:20 did i just hear 'makes the PLANE explode'? a helicopter is now a plane? i thought planes with the exception of a harrier jet couldnt take of vertically like an helicopter
Why does anyone think that characters like Emilio are funny? They're not. They're annoying as hell and you just want to see them die as quickly and painfully as possible. And yet they show up in movies again and again. Why does this keep happening? Do lots of scriptwriters think stupid = funny? Because it doesn't.
No matter who you are in this world, you can make a movie better than Uwe Boll.
The laser in the saw is set up so when they run a log through it it brings the saw down to cut it at consistent lengths.
Logic? Consistency? Continuity? A Uwe Boll craves not these things.
clearly the needles are made of adamantium.
At 13:59 that was Anthony Bourdain from the Travel Channel as a scientist who apparently his only scene involves getting shot by a bad guy.
Didn’t he shoot himself? WHAT THE HELL BOL!?
I'd ask what this has to do with the games, but it's an Uwe Boll film...
jameswandman it closer to the game then others but it's not the original I think but a Xbox original version
Theres a series called far cry. Its little to no resemble to this
@@Zombiekilleryamato didn't even remotely understand what you wrote

uwe boll can be a good director its just that he choses not to be cos seed and rage are very good movies that he has made

I'm so glad Uwe Boll retired in 2016.
Gray Scribe he retired? That's the greatest news I've heard in awhile xD
That's what I heard, but that might have been (sadly) old news and he might be active again.
He retired only because the german taxes changed so he can't make anymore money on his shitty movies. Thank god for that.
That is sad. I actually liked his movies in a weird totally insane way. I mean they were like comedic heroin. Is it just me or is the one guy painting somehow more exciting than the super soldier firing a machine gun?

Uwe "Toilet" Boll
I bet Robert Rodriguez could make a good far cry movie.
Well, at least you could eat the breadstick bridge
Bennet's comment regarding Far Cry made sense back then...until 2012 when Far Cry 3 came out, considered to be the best of the franchise.
She's Nightingale in House of the Dead 2
Emmanuelle Vaguer is a stunner.
Damn fine review, and I especially loved the Cliffhanger reference. :)
Interestingly the actress who plays Valerie wasn’t in Uwe Bolls House of the Dead but was the lead in the even worse sequel House of the Dead 2
I remember her from Saw II.
She was in need for speed carbon also
Actually postal was pretty good trash comedy. It's tone follows game's dark sarcastic humour.
Maybe Uwe must make more trash dark comedies, not action movies.
It's the only film of his that's actually fun to watch on a semi-ironic level.
So, was this film supposed to be before or after Dr. Krieger worked for Malory Archer?
Shut Up, man! 12:35
The Same Bastard who made Alone in The Dark movie next to The House of The Dead movie 1:40
"...a game that we haven't cared about since 2004"
2009 was a weird time indeed now that Far Cry found it's personality and generated 5+ more games

Til Schweiger can't Speak german.
what made you come to that conclusion?

No it's orange. Hilarious because it's orange .
Well, if Amazon can make a good Fallout series, maybe they could make a good Far Cry series?
"A movie based on a game that we haven't cared about since 2004"
Well, it's 2019 and Far Cry New Dawn just released. Plus, I'm playing Far Cry 5.
Ironically, the games were well-known and the movie loosely based on the game is something nobody cared about.
And now far cry 6 exists
Edit: also the villians are the stars of the games
thanks for the video
I did not even know this film was a thing…
Hello zere. Meine name iz Uwe Boll. Who vould veel like vanting to vatch anuzer movie of meine? Zis time letz vatch Alone in ze Dark.

Till Schweiger... the biggest joke of our filming industry...
Sessena he was alright in Inglorious Bastards
Sessena I don't know. If anyone deserves that title, it would be either Shia LaBouef, Jaden Smith, or Kristen Stewart. Just saying.
He was really good in What To Do In Case Of Fire

Emmanuelle Vaugier rates Til's performance a 2/10.

No wonder she bled to death in a blade box.
The Thames Whale doesn't count. Watching whale carcasses is nobody's idea of a fun vacation.

NOO NOT TILL SCHWEIGER

There could be German special forces soldiers because people from different countries so a German in the US military is not that surprising.

OK this is actually uwe boll this movie is very great I love it it’s also produced by Disney
Channels that do good and bad content on good and bad things.
As somebody who knows a few of Till Schweigers German movies, he's pretty bad.
