Love when he turns the tables on the Scientology camera guy and starts coming towards him with his camera phone. I lost it when he asked "Are you making a documentary as well?" Louis trolls so good.
+Paul Philipson That's part of the recipe that makes Louis so masterful at what he does. Asks complex questions in very accessible ways, puts (sometimes potentially dangerous) assholes at ease, never gets his feathers visibly ruffled, and injects effortless levity into the most stressful situations imaginable.
lavivadaloco right, it was only released this month it turns out legally, so just give it a few weeks. in the mean time, download and watch the "going clear" documentary.
Did anyone catch who's being referred to as having said "Fuck you" to Louis ? The interviewer asks a question about him straight after they discuss Marty Rathbun, and I can't understand the guy for a few seconds...
I am very grateful to Louis Theroux for the work he does, and I think it was a sad mistake for the Church of Scientology to not embrace the opportunity and have an open conversation. This really just leaves us more safe to say: This organisation is not truthful, and it has a lot to hide.
Louis is just the best. He has done some of the best investigative documentaries ever. He is so polite and mild mannered that he lulls his subjects into a false sense of security and is always respectful when asking hard questions. The Jimmy Savile doc shows how foul he was, which many people were oblivious of. I didn't like Savile before the truth came out because he was never real. His enablers should be prosecuted or at least outed. Can't wait for this.
Because James Corden has licked so many asses from all the way up, you would be able to smell the shit on his breath if you seen him from 20 yards in the street.
Onmysheet lol he's a funny guy sometimes, but it shocks me how HE has made it big in the US, when the UK has plenty of far better comedians/presenters. He must have licked the devils bumhole or something.
Ik kende dit interview van de VPRO nog helemaal niet. Heel nice dat ik het opeens vind. Dank algoritme haha. Thanks voor het uploaden/maken van dt interview.
Agreed. For a film that was released last year, it's unusual that it isn't available anywhere. I look forward to seeing the film some day. I like Louis a lot. He is one of a kind and extremely good at what he does. The scene where Louis is filming the man filming him and asking if he is in a film is positively Kaffaesque. Brilliantly handled.
I'm very happy that Louis Theroux is back! He's an amanzing man. Hopefully through this doco and with help of podcasts like the JRE, he will become popular in the states.
Weird weekends was his best work, they were great. This film seems to be more along those lines than his more recent work and I'm glad. I don't know if you've seen his recent work - it's what I'd call 'easy to make' documentaries about mental illness/drug addiction etc which his style of film making is really lost on.
The Scientology episode feels like a follow on from Weird Weekends, yet all recent episodes have been lauded as 'more mature' by some media critics. With scientology, it may suddenly become a mature issue when you have many lawyers on your back watching and waiting - so I suppose it's a mix of both worlds. Everything he has covered before from his previous Weird Weekends and some specials thereafter was completely serious to the oddball cults and believers. The wiki has the most recent episode (A Different Brain) as episode 27 of these bbc2 specials, with the first from 2003. Reading that episode list, I suppose the topics have become more serious as the years have gone by. Whether the serious truly outweighs the odd on what can be covered in the real world is hard to tell. I'm not sure if a new Weird Weekends series could really happen. Serious topics may appeal more to the general public rather than his own cult following of believers ;) but I agree that his laid back method of interrogation is best suited to what is out of the ordinary
Louis is by far britains best doc maker and he's not on tv here in the uk enough,is this coming on the BBC or is it cinema release as I need to see it!!!
I'm so interested in seeing this. Not only because of the subject matter, but really to see how this turns out with using actors and reinactments which is something he's never really done before. I just hate it that noone has any idea when we will get to see this!
Louis Theroux is SO good, love him. This interview is so good. He's so intelligent, funny + good at his job, + says funny things with a completely straight face! Well done Louis, you're doing a great job X
+LittleVillage24 Scientology can not be compared to other "religions". Hubbard didn't even intend for it to be a "religion" originally, he only "explored the religion angle" for financial and legal benefit. Scientology is a breed of its own and far more sinister than many can imagine.
Louis Theroux is a genius and his documentaries he has made thus far with his team new and old will stand the test of time. I can't wait to see this new documentary.
I thought I saw Louis on the subway in LA maybe it wasn't him. Did everyone see that video that the dude broke down Louis style titled "How Louis Theroux Asks A Question | Ryan's Theory" check it out it's epic.
When talking about "performance for the camera" at 7:35 I had in mind, that the Scientology film dudes aren't solely doing to intimidate, but also to make other Scientologists around them stick to their protocol.
Great interview ! Can't wait to see this. Many Scientologists are leaving. Leah Remini's Book has really exposed them on many levels, on a very personal level.
Louis Theroux is one of my favorite humans. I have watched every single one of his documentaries, some more than once, and he's just a genuine intelligent passionate and humbled human being. One scene that sticks out the most is during the _Louis Theroux and the Nazis_ doc. He's invited to a straight up unabashed unrepentant Nazi/AB/Skinhead whatever the fuck parasites house and the guy is desperately trying to get him to answer whether or not he's Jewish. Theroux, demonstrating tact and humility simply says, and I'm paraphrasing, _I don't think that matters, for me to answer would give it some importance_ (in this context) ... desperately trying, in return, to find the humanity in this guy; the one single place where they could relate and disregard all the arbitrarily created categories we use to distinguish one another often used as a means of oppression or to justify harm. He's one of the few people alive today I'd love to have long conversation with about life.
Louie is already a badass, imagine if he were also a black belt in Karate and Jiujitsu or something, and carried that extra "I could finish you all with my hands if you ever touched me" confidence.
I have no words available to me which would correctly convey the depth of desire I have to see Louis Theroux' film, "My Scientology Movie". I cannot locate a copy of it which would be playable via North American (Canadian specifically) viewing signals----any suggestions? Though tbh, I am scared of illegal viewings via Torrents, etc. Otherwise...please could you advise me how to view or buy Theroux's MSM legally?
One of the most talented documentarians in the world. Extremely intelligent, kind, and bold.
+The Walking David And patient AF.
Yes absolutely. It's honestly something to aspire to. After all, it is a virtue.
The Walking David *
And it's very easy to underestimate him.
Love when he turns the tables on the Scientology camera guy and starts coming towards him with his camera phone. I lost it when he asked "Are you making a documentary as well?" Louis trolls so good.
me also , that was the best bit !
I love that the Scientology goon is slowly backing away in the confrontation, but shouldn't the gravitas of Louis' massive balls pull him in rather?
Yeah, also when he said "you don't have to leave your not trespassing"
Sekteleden zijn stumpers
"...you don't have to go, you're not trespassing"
Oh Louis you card.
+Paul Philipson That's part of the recipe that makes Louis so masterful at what he does. Great interview! Compelling chat, the 12 minutes flew by. Desperately want to see this Scientology movie, devastated it wasn't at any Irish festivals!
Just download for free you moron !

lavivadaloco
Jesus just goto any torrent website you muppet !
Kickass doesnt have it, not found on google either
lavivadaloco
right, it was only released this month it turns out legally, so just give it a few weeks.
in the mean time, download and watch the "going clear" documentary.
Terrific interview. First time I heard Louis drop the f-bomb, even though he was just repeating what was said. 😂
+Ryllax Mann Thanks Ryllax.
+Ryllax Mann He one's said fuck honestly in his "Demolition Derby" episode
+Ryllax Mann yes, very absorbing. i liked the interviewer's style too. they worked well against each other
+Ryllax Mann Should check out the Joe Rogan podcast. You really get to know how interesting guy he is.
he said 'fucking hell' more than three times in that episode
"you dot have to go, your not trespassing"
always loved louis humour >
+Darren R "you're"
Dunning Kruger thats the only one you found?
+Darren R No... I just didn't want to be a dick.
Dunning Kruger "Did not"
Did anyone catch who's being referred to as having said "Fuck you" to Louis ? The interviewer asks a question about him straight after they discuss Marty Rathbun, and I can't understand the guy for a few seconds...
I am very grateful to Louis Theroux for the work he does, and I think it was a sad mistake for the Church of Scientology to not embrace the opportunity and have an open conversation.
This really just leaves us more safe to say:
This organisation is not truthful, and it has a lot to hide.
Cults don't want an open conversation.
This conflict with Katherine tells you so much about how bullies operate and how to undermine them. Brilliant.
"the road is closed!"
Meanwhile infinite traffic goes past them.
Camelworks the fuck you doing here mate. Get back to Tamriel
@@fuckyshityfuckshit He achieved chim so he could leave nirn and watch Louis theroux

still waiting
I can't wait, I CAN'T WAIT for this film to come out!
The reason Louis is so good is he's one of a handful of journalists left with ethics, he do
Yeah..piss take ethics full of false humility..but ye gotta love the geek
He do
"How do you stay so cool?"
Louis is a cool cat, thats how.
+Erato IsYourMuse srsly, utterly unflusterable, permanently patient, never see enough of Louis Theroux
It think it "just because he's British". For some reason or another British people seem cool and collected all the time, to me that is.
Plenty of frantic ones believe me. But yes, the true English gentleman, such as LT and yours truly, can't be doing with fuss.
Golly...
I deeply admire the rare combination of polite level-headedness under extreme pressure and balls of steel, one that Louis clearly has...
Louis Theroux should be far more famous than he already is. God knows how Piers Morgan and James fucking Corden have made It in America.
bloody hell well said. yep agree
Why are loud, dumb assholes popular in the USA? Hmm, I wonder..
(I jest!)
Whats great about Louis is he is dis arming, people loose there public face and show there true horrible colours. great bloke
10:50"You're considering 'am I going to tell him'"Exactly what I was thinking! Looking forward to this film.
Great questions; challenging and insightful
I've seen every single one of Louis' docs. Every one as riveting as the other!
such a professional, even under pressure. Gonzo journalist!
Ik kende dit interview van de VPRO nog helemaal niet. Heel nice dat ik het opeens vind. Dank algoritme haha.
Thanks voor het uploaden/maken van dt interview.
PLEASE RELEASE THE MOVIE LOUIS

+Anthony Monaghan why is it not released anywhere? It was released last year? I'm very confused.
It's being publicly released later this year. I think they're probably trying to build the hype in the meantime.
It's not on uk dvd so it's nowhere to be seen. No idea if a release is planned
You'd think someone would have made a camrip at this point.
what if all these documentaries are part of a larger documentary about what its like to be a documentary film maker 🤔
Lol +Tom James doception?
Docuception man come on
Phil Gillespie Fine then Phil, Docuception.
I'm very happy that Louis Theroux is back! He's an amanzing man. Hopefully through this doco and with help of podcasts like the JRE, he will become popular in the states.
Louis Theroux could probably make a documentary about phonebooks and make it sound compelling.
The guy is a legend.
Can't wait to see this film.
love louis theroux, forever watchable, very intelligent and has a great way of conducting interviews and is quick minded
So eager to watch this.
Haha "Katherine you don't have to go, you're not trespassing" - Brilliant classic Louis Theroux
"you're considering.... am I going to tell him?.."
The interviewer is a genius !!
Everything he does is golden.
I could watch hours of this. love all his documentaries
Louis is great. Loved his weird weekends.
You've spent weekends with Louis??!! Luckeeeh!
Weird weekends was his best work, they were great. This film seems to be more along those lines than his more recent work and I'm glad. +Tom Lennon agreed! He thrives best in confrontational situations whilst remaining calm. But these guys seem like fucking nut jobs!!
so excited for the films release!!
This interviewer is excellent. Great questions. And Louis is a delight as usual.
"you don't have to go you're not trespassing !" Brilliant
I would love to see Louis Theroux interview Donald Trump.
ha ha it would probably be like the Max Clifford interview years back.....
Or Hillary!
+Leer Wesen or both
How I wish that would happen
He's actually planning on making a documentary about him now
Don't realize how amazing smart and brilliant you are amazingly talented is so much of a message
Great interview, looking forward to the movie!
Having Louis Theroux say your question is really good, wow!
Louis Theroux is the only modern documentary maker I can think of whose presence in the completed work does not detract from the subject matter.
Love he's documentary movie type tv programs
His honesty and openness is extremely rare.
Louis is by far britains best doc maker and he's not on tv here in the uk enough,is this coming on the BBC or is it cinema release as I need to see it!!!
Great interview and great questions.
I'm so interested in seeing this. Not only because of the subject matter, but really to see how this turns out with using actors and reinactments which is something he's never really done before. I just hate it that noone has any idea when we will get to see this!
whats happening with the actors?
It's explained in the video.
It's coming out in October or November (I can't remember which) in the UK and January in the US.
Louis Theroux is SO good, love him. This interview is so good. He's so intelligent, funny + good at his job, + says funny things with a completely straight face!
Well done Louis, you're doing a great job X
That part where he pulls out his phone just shows how much of an alpha Louis is. That cameraman backed off instantly.
Love it when Louis pulls out his phone and records the other cameraman and says "are you filming a documentary too" hahahaha I love Louis
I can't wait for his movie on the cult of Islam.
Joe Mooney Didn't he do one on Evangelicals already?
+Joe Mooney Omfg my name is Joe Mooney as well
+LittleVillage24 please explain how islam is a cult thx
+LittleVillage24 Really? What's he gonna find?
+LittleVillage24 Scientology can not be compared to other "religions". Hubbard didn't even intend for it to be a "religion" originally, he only "explored the religion angle" for financial and legal benefit.
Scientology is a breed of its own and far more sinister than many can imagine.
this is a brilliant interview.
This was one of the best interviews of the press tour.
Louis is such a wonderful journalist.
Louis is great as always, but this interviewer was fantastic. He asked great questions and didn't try to direct Louis's answers.
Some people are desperate for answers regardless if it's truthful
Louis Theroux is a genius and his documentaries he has made thus far with his team new and old will stand the test of time. I can't wait to see this new documentary.
did anyone else see a Scientology ad before the video?
Where's this available to watch?
I thought I saw Louis on the subway in LA maybe it wasn't him. Did everyone see that video that the dude broke down Louis style titled "How Louis Theroux Asks A Question | Ryan's Theory" check it out it's epic.

Look at the 'road closed ' meeting. They're so enlightened and at peace.
Those people always seem so hate filled. Very sad lives they must be leading
Louis is a beast....such a chap
I like Louie, seen everything he's done, fantastic
very interesting interview
his polite bluntness is genius!
So who was this "Catherine" who was failing at handling him? He sure handled her very well. Bravo!!!
Great interview ! Can't wait to see this.
Many Scientologists are leaving. Leah Remini's Book has really exposed them on many levels, on a very personal level.
Stewart Lee's Comedy Vehicle has let itself go.
Love your work louis

Great vid
He's still a master interviewer, so personable.
Anything Louis does is worth watching so I will be checking this film out with interest.
Louie is a very intelligent guy, cant wait to see this!
David Micavige is villain from 80s movie he can be wall street broker but not leader of religion group.
'You don't have to go you're not trespassing' - Brilliant.
He looks much better with a beard
i hate how we haven't heard of a release date yet. can't wait for this.
October or November apparently.
I can't wait for this!! it hasn't been released yet, right?
+Napoleon inRags No. I think it's getting a theatrical release of some sort later in the year.
+Connor Chapman It's been released already in Belgium. I've seen it in Brussels, it was very good.
That's great to hear.
Love Louis work
I wish i was half as well spoken as Louis
love u louie
Louis for life!
the path to enlightenment is free.... Love louis....
she leaves and louis says "You don't have to go, you're not trespassing" LMAO
Louie is already a badass, imagine if he were also a black belt in Karate and Jiujitsu or something, and carried that extra "I could finish you all with my hands if you ever touched me" confidence.
Louis looks really good with a beard
Mijn God wat een uitspraak van de presentator... "Siantolojie', 'Teroe'
Louis you are a role model I think you're awesome because you show an objective point on your subjects
Even when it's clear you disagree you give everyone their chance to speak x
+Izzy Rascal ps.if you weren't married I would totally pursue you!
Finally, a good interview with Theroux.
I have grown up with this fantastic man's programmes, and they are always first rate. *My Scientology Movie* was no different.
*SP and proud of it.*
I was in the sea org you'll never get that far haha
louis kind beautiful human being
Louis Theroux is the most compulsive interviewer on tv, he's just a bl**dy genius
Good interview ! I wonder if he ever got to go down the "closed" road ?
"Catherine...WOW, WOW YOU ARE ASSAULTING ME!!" Gotta love Louis calling the Scientologists out on their frequent beatings.
there was an ad for Scientology before this video started. goddammit lol
Scientology: we promote paranoia.
Mary Burnight probably buy it as a stream on Amazon. maybe it's on Hulu or netflix.
Yay Louis!
'Are you making a documentary as well ? '
I've been hearing about this film since before "Going Clear" came out. I'd like to fuckin' see it someday!
