Just finished building this set yesterday. Such an amazing build and set! I love all the functions and the hidden Easter egg. Lego really outdid themselves on this one!
I think it’s crazy how the LEGO version probobly would be more expensive than the real version 😂

Great review and I love your enthusiasm and love for the NES! I remember getting my NES back in 1991 and it really was a landmark moment in video games for me, such an iconic console and many great memories... My Lego set is in transit and should get to me tomorrow! Do you think Lego might release game packs? Imagine using original NES game boxes containing lego bricks to build a new scene and a cartridge! Would love to see Zelda, Metroid, Mario 3, Excitebike, MegaMan.......
I think this is a one-shot deal. there could be plenty of designers who make additional stickers for the cartridge though, so either get to designing or be patient! Lol

Thank you all for the support and kind words about my design. It is very similar to the one LEGO made. They were likely working on their design for many years, and invented new pieces to make it. I designed and built mine I three months. Many people say they "stole" my idea, but my design is just an old tv with and old game. LEGO makes great products, and they have grea designs. This one just happens to look a lot like mine.
Someone is going to eventually make this into an actual nes, I just know it

I wish they would do the Japanese NES, or Super Famicom with the Disk Player, which was never released in US

There's just a little bit of a size difference, but overall in terms of appearances, it's 100% accurate to the real thing!
Life hack, instead of the crank, mod it to run off power function so you can simulate actually playing the game

So, everything is to scale, just not 1:1 except the controller
The TV isn't really in scale, but it would need to be like a 24 inch TV to size accordingly. The console, and cartridge are definitely in proportion though.

I can’t own a castle or a Pirate ship,so I build one out of LEGO.I can own a NES and a whole pile of games,so why would I want an,expensive,non-working version? This,the Piano,Mosaics,Super Mario,I just don’t understand the point of these!
as a Gamer seeing someone with this would just make me sad cause it is not playable.

You could, but it would be way too fast without adding a bunch of gears to slow it down.
Bricks 'O' Brian there remote allow to change speed which could work

The smaller knobs on the tv are volume, brightness and contrast. Not sure what not knowing this has to do with age, because even though the icons are pretty old, they're still in use today

just get nintendo stuff or lego stuff, these sets both the “play” and this scalpers edition is pure gameplay gimmick. i bought pirates of baracuda bay for less money than this and that is a great lego set from any view. ill buy my son nintendo games instead of these.
but yeah the 35-50 nintendo collectors are all about this. i don’t get it. everyone wants mini fig zelda and mario but instead they push these overpriced nostalgia bait items or wheres the actual gameplay bluetooth mario sets.
for regular people you need to understand most of the big lego tubers get all this stuff anyways free from lego and are never critical of lego so take their testimonials with a few studs.
I'll have you know that if I didn't receive this product from Lego for review, I would be there day one paying full price for this.
I love how you praised the barracuda Bay set, but are critical of those who fall for "nostalgia bait". Barracuda Bay is the ultimate nostalgia bait set.
It's fine to be critical of the set, but it's not okay to demean what others enjoy, and claim there is bias in the review when there is not. I genuinely enjoyed this build. If you can't accept my opinion for what it is, that's on you. 🤷🏻♂️
