    I've had my rustler for about a year. Slowly adding more aluminum parts. But noticing it's definitely adding weight and finding I want more speed even at the 3s. But this was my first RC car and I'm still a super noob and Will spend hours before researching before buying lol
    That's a great build you have there . Looks great!

    When I changed to a short course style wheel I noticed an immediate change in the durability of the axles. I believe the weight combined with the grip of a fat wider wheel is just over the limit of what they're designed for. Haven't broken a driveshaft in maybe 3 months.

    I have had a ton of axle issues. Awesom you don't like MIP when I have $150 on axles setting right beside me lol. I got the XD CVD axles. HR rear axles lasted 20 min. I have rear diff locked. Running pro line 2.8 MX28s, I run max offset aluminum hubs $100 sucks. For hexes I run 17MM from MIP for the slash. Fits stock size axles and all but has a 17MM hex and flanged wheel bolts. Ive ripped a few 14mm nylon ones out so I went 17mm. Figuring the price up now, Didnt want to spend $1000 on an XMAXX so I ended up with a $1500 rustler. lol

    • @fxrc3086
      @fxrc3086  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It sounds sick... those MIPs axles sound way better then the ones they used to make... the ebay axles I have on it now are holding up but I don't take it out that much with all the other RCs. Good luck with urs... it sounds awesome👍👍

      @@fxrc3086 I just had those axles pop up all over amazon and ebay. They look pretty strong. The HR racing ones that broke were some kind of aluminum alloy "pot metal" basically. I got MIP XD axles. They arent the light weight racing axles like people run in a slash. They are extremely heavy. Hope it holds. I have a tekno dog bone driveshaft ordered. I somehow bent my driveshaft. No idea how. Ive never snapped a single arm or anything. Front and rear is 100% RPM. Maybe its a weak link. Not sure JB weld 30 trillion weight diff in rear was a good idea either.

    I ran my rustler all of summer with zero problems. The stock driveshafts will break just using 2S lipos after a few packs put through it, I dunno 10 to 15 maybe. I have had two rustlers from new and they all do this. Save some heartache and just buy the Traxxas cvd upgrade parts. Yes they are insanely expensive but they work. 2s will not break them, this year I have just begun to run 3s and so far so good.
    Stock shocks are poos too. Proline have good ones that work well and are bulletproof.
    So basically you need to add 300 bucks for 4 new shocks and 4 new drive shafts to make the rustler reliable.

    Drive shafts are one of those parts where your better off sticking with traxxas hop up parts. I had the MIPs on my rustler too..... Total garbage. As far as cvds go, the traxxas steel driveshafts are great, probably the best out there.

      whats the difference/manners with the center diff vs slipper?

    • @dylanwhite6539
      @dylanwhite6539 17 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @ a CD allows the front and rear diffs to move at different speeds, this is how AWD cars work as no two wheels will travel the exact same distance in a turn. On the other hand, sliders keep the front and rear diffs in lock step with each other. It’s also more crude. With a slipper you either have power or you don’t. Feels like easily 90% of the power is lost. With a center diff, only the amount of power you tuned it to bleed out will escape though the front axle

    • @Adam.Morrison
      @Adam.Morrison 16 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @ I know exactly how it works I’m just wondering why you say it’s so essential on a basher.

    I don't get why you would throw that much money into a truck you didn't like to begin with. Don't get me wrong, it's your money and your choice but almost all of those "upgrades" will make no improvement to the truck. In fact you will break and bend more stuff running 4s. My Rustler is almost bone stock and it rips on 3s and I haven't broken anything yet. The only things I think are lacking is the ESC and a better wheelie bar. If you liked the truck and just wanted to bling it out I get it. Don't be offended though, I've spent money unnecessarily myself. ;)

    • @fxrc3086
      @fxrc3086  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I do love the truck. A rustler not thus one, was the first RC I got as a boy. So maybe its sentimental. But as far as the upgrading well beyond what's necessary. Thats just what I do my friend👍👍

    yes driveshafts… Once they bend their no good… I'm so disappointed in people in general on eBay because there are so many driveshafts from China and they're making them out of dirt garbage steel there all useless junk and they're trying to take our money bring it into their country. It's hard to get parts when you have so many lying dogs… And it doesn't help when Traxxas makes their parts so expensive it's just stupid to give them money practically worse than giving it away to China. Good luck with your new driveshafts
