Nice selection! Just an FYI - that HU blend is the English Breakfast. The part that has "Virginia" is listing the components in order of most to least prominent.
Very nice selection! Many of my favorites. I'd stop by if I were in the area. I thought the Maryland taxes were bad! Between sales and excise, it adds up to about 25-30%. I like that you seem to be entirely geared towards pipe smoking. Even our pipe oriented stores in the DC area tend to have a LOT of cigar stuff: Georgetown Tobacco, Chesapeake Pipe and Cigar, W. Curtis Draper, etc. I can't complain too much because they carry many of my favorites. The last store is really cool because it's right by the White House, but the prices are exorbitant (I think the DC taxes are even worse than Maryland), and you can no longer smoke in the cool old shop!
Glad you enjoyed the video Corey! Our 71% tax makes pipe tobacco a hard sell in Wisconsin. We started off selling pipes only, so pipes will always be a heavy focus for us. Thanks for watching!
Thank you for the transparency of the sales tax. I was about to check out your website and see about supporting your buisness. Unfortunately giving the state (any state) 71% sales tax should be a felony.
Just to clarify, our sales tax is only 5.5%. The 71% tax is a tobacco excise tax that applies to pipe tobacco. The excise tax on cigars is only 50 cents per stick. The tax has been in effect for several years at Wisconsin retailers, but the new tax law requires all online out of state retailers to charge the same tax to any of their customers in Wisconsin. So Wisconsin residents will no longer be able to buy pipe tobacco online for way cheaper than in store prices. This is a good thing for Wisconsin retailers as customers will pay the same price with the online retailers as they would their local shops. It's not good for those consumers that were buying online at very low prices. Thanks for watching the video!
That’s what happens when the liberals elect communists to validate their feelings rather then seek the truth. I too live in Washington however I live in Vancouver and can cross the river to Oregon and give the finger to The liberals taxation
I knew the new sales tax was coming this January 1st. I just hope brick and mortar shops in Wisconsin can survive it. It's bull crap that it even got passed. Any chance of it ever getting reversed?
To clarify, the tax is not a sales tax. it's an excise tax of 71% on pipe tobacco. This has been the tax rate on pipe tobacco in Wisconsin for many years already. The new part of the law is requiring online retailers from out of state to also charge that 71% to their Wisconsin customers. So Wisconsin residents will no longer be able to buy pipe tobacco online for much cheaper than an actual shop. This evens the playing field for Wisconsin brick n mortars and the big online retailers, and is actually a good thing for Wisconsin retailers. It's not good for consumers though, and I'd rather see that tax go away.
Agreed. A better selection then one might think. Best wishes to you and your business

Yeah, I realized that as soon as I said but just kept scrolling onto the next one. I was wondering if anyone would catch that!

@@MrOneballjay02 this tax isn't new.
@ what do you mean??? The 71% tax in Wisconsin is new. It literally just started January 1, 2025.

That’s insane
They have to stop voting for socialists
What do you keep in your bulk blends to keep them fresh?
Small Boveda packs or water pillows.
