Yesterday i flashed the TSDZ2 motor, had some minor issues: 1st: My cable was to long, shorted to 10 cm 2nd: First connected to 5v, but this failed, 3.3v did the job 3rd: There are 2 pinout versions of the ST-link v2, the SWIM and ground pin are switched! look on your own ST-link v2, to double check.
Honestly you are a legend for posting this comment Bart. i couldn't for the life of me work out why the cable I built wouldn't let me flash my custom firmware. It was the old 3.3v problem. In the ST link flashing tool I had errors constantly all evening trying to do mine on 5v despite everywhere saying that was the correct voltage!
Hello Thanks for all the videos. Let's say you just want to increase the cadence limit...is it enough just to flash the motor and not use the kt-lcd3. Thank you
Hy, sorry, but how do you turn the three cables (only) of the speed sensor into four (needed for the usb connection) ?? like a magic or smtg, Tadaaam, and they connect?
hi great videos i have 1 question. you made a point of downloading the raw data file you put it in downloads and then didnt seem to use it. is this file needed? thanks
The tsdz3 has never been mentioned since you need a special frame to use it. I honestly don't know but I would say there is a good chance it would work
I was able to program the lcd but the motor won’t connect in ST Link regardless of what troubleshooting steps I take. I’m located in Australia, is it possible to send it to you to have a go at uploading the software? Thanks
Did your figured out the problem in the meantime? Because i got the same. No connection, and i tried troubleshoot A LOT! Flashing the display was an easy breeze. Greetings from germany.
Also, all the how-tos state, that i have to use STM8S105x6 instead of the x4 I tried both, with 3 different ST Links - no connection. I also checked all the cabeling, everything is fine -.-
@@jbalatutube Hey there, trying to restart my project again since my bike with a BBSHD got stolen : - ( Is there a chance I could send you the kit to have a look at the firmware? Happy to pay for labour. Thanks mate
Am I able to send you my motor for a firmware flash? Happy to throw some beer money your way :-). I'm stuck and would love to get this going for my partner. Thanks!
You are better off sorting this out with the help of the guys on the endless sphere group or post on our Facebook group the best ebike and I can help you there
Hi, these videos were super helpful and really got me on the path of the TSDZ2 open source firmware. I managed to cook a motor (towing my daughter uphill and at speed, my bad!) and so replaced it, and this time around for some reason I had to use the 3.3v output on the ST Link adapter, and also the hardware model needed to be STM8S105x6 as mentioned in this video th-cam.com/video/S2SRKu6-Qyw/w-d-xo.html - pretty sure I followed @jbalatube's instructions to the letter first time around so no idea why this one is different. Anyway thanks again and keep up the good work!

Seems a few people are having issues, thanks for sharing some good tips !

Thank god I stumbled on this post 3.3V solved it for me! Legend.
this also worked for me, well to read the firmware at least, I'll get around to flashing it eventually

Can this be used to reprogram an xld brainpower controller & s866 lcd display?

Try using the 3.3v instead of 5v on the stlink also try a short cable like mine.
