    *EDIT* : Skillshare didn't let me upload this extended class just with one video, so this content will have to live now on Gumroad! Sorry for the inconvenince, it wasn't my decision :(
    Hi Everyone!! I've made an extended version of this tutorial on both Skillshare and on Gumroad - it's 38 minutes long and it goes step-by-step on how to create the most advanced composition you see in this video! Links are in the description, and thank you for supporting this channel! Happy Holidays!

    Pretty neat.. Slightly over my head. So I’ll have to rewatch it several times. Thanks!

    this was nicely done, thanks. i'm a longtime photoshop user (over 20 years, ack!) and less than a year in procreate, so still getting footing. i wish the manual select had some streamlining feature, as my selections are often shaky.

    There is a great deal of professional quality information here and I did get the gist of the process and saw the possibility of some very novel and advanced techniques. The end part where you threaded the road through the letters was unfortunately not very clear to me despite having the video slowed down. It also might have helped if you had deleted the redundant extra text and select layers from the layer menu and mentioned when you turned off layers during the process. Also at what stage did you rasterise the text and why? I know you have a more detailed tutorial available so I will check it out.Then all no doubt will be clearer. However all that said there was a great deal of good stuff and detailed new info on how to manipulate photos in procreate(a neglected attribute ) especially on how to select accurately and make the 3D shadowing. Thank you for this very detailed account.

      I'm working on it guys, but it will have to be a more extended video as a class on Skillshare, so I don't have to post twice here on TH-cam.

    So, this was an interesting tutorial but in the end I didn't understand how you managed to have the letters above and under the street. Where can I find the full explanation of this?

      @@ghostpaper Thank you. Already got the tutorial - so easy. Next time I should read before asking.
      Nevertheless one more question: Can I download the video or just view it once?

    Hi, I'm trying to do something on Procreate and can't figure out how. I have a design, say a state of California. And I want to put text of the state name on top of the design, but want the text to be clear or completely transparent. Can you please give me direction as to how? Thanks!

    • @ghostpaper
      @ghostpaper  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Try tapping with both fingers on a layer, then you can change the opacity at the top as a slider. And if you click on the little ‘n’ icon next to the layer (that stands for Normal blending mode), you can try using the text with an overlay blending mode at 100% opacity, might look even better, depending on what’s underneath 👍

      @@ghostpaper, ok...my first layer is a drawing of the state of California. My second layer is the text "California" on top of the drawing of the state. How do I get the text "california" to be clear all the way through....so that on a t-shirt...the letters of the word "california" is the not there so that the color of the shirt is showing thru the text cut outs? Does that make sense?

    Nice good. Next time rather than using caps lock, you could have just capitalized all the letters first by using an a all caps font instead. Search for it in the font menu in procreate. It saves time of having to hit the shift key all the time. All the best.

    Procreate is really coming for photoshop and I love it. Now if they add smart objects to procreate, it’s over for photoshop. That and being able to use lots of layers even with huge canvases

    You could just do the text. Add a layer. Trace it. Erase the text. Now erase the part of “MOVE” you don’t want. Simple. This tool for ever.

      Completely had the same thought. This was way too much work, BUT it was a simple enough explanation so that u can use it in other creative ways. Now if I could just understand why it’s not working for me lol…
