Shoutout to Ian who was working on this in the Led Zeppelin song "The Ocean", here's a look at the classic John Bonham-style "bass drum triplet" - essentially R K K.

Hi Mike, recent subscriber here - loving your videos. Great technique, very clearly explained and demonstrated. I'm in my 'mid-fourties' (57..!) and have always loved John Bonhams playing. Maybe you could do a vid on the 'Bonham triplet' snare / toms / bass drum sweep..? many thanks.

So what people commonly refer to as a "Bonham Triplet" in that sense is, as far as I'm concerned, two sticks followed by one bass drum. He typically seemed to play it as LRK as he was left-handed. So if you're starting out I'd personally recommend RLK if you're right-handed. Have made several videos about that...
