After the 1981 world tour Klaus lost his voice and it got so bad he couldn't speak properly. His doctors told him to find another profession. After two vocal chords surgeries and a couple years of of physical therapy
He ended up making a full recovery!

Klaus Meine is such an amazing singer. Rudolph Schenker and Matthias Jabs together create one of the most iconic guitar sounds in history. Rudolph and Mattais have been the guitarists from 78 till now, the period in which most of their most famous songs came out. Rudolph is the only founding member left and has been there since 65. Scorpions is such a great band. In the earlier years of their career, they released a fine album / title song, "In Trance". They were not famous worldwide, yet. And, from the time when they got famous on, there are many amazing hits, as "No one like you", "Big City Nights", "Love you like a Hurricane", "I'm leaving you" (this one, I recommend the official music video), "Wind of change" (another amazing music video), "Send me an angel".

I absolutely love how you are reacting to songs that are clearly way before your time. Scorpions were one of the great ones. Since you brought it up it is my understanding that when the Scorpions gave interviews Klause Maine the singer needed an interpreter because he didn't understand English. But he certainly mastered the lyrics to his songs in English. Now I don't know if that is really true or not. It's just what I was told back in the 80s. So I believed it without checking on it. But back then there wasn't an internet to check up on things like that.
Anyway, thank you for the love you give to the songs I grew up with.

They have been part of the soundtrack of my life since I stumbled on their debut album, Lonesome Crow in 1970. Amazed immediately as already the guitar from the Schenker brothers, Michael and Rudolf was incredible in their teens and Klaus was young, too but had that voice in those early recordings.
My suggestion to see a great overview of their entire career would be their incredible headlining set at Wakken 2006, they had former band members like legendary lead guitarists Michael Schenker and Uli Jon Roth join them for mini sets and later all got together, they did a wide variety of songs and have never sounded better live and I saw them 9 times but, man they were in a zone at Wakken on home turf. Coast to Coast and the Zoo blow me away. Enjoy! 🎵🎸🎤🎸🎶

Ah, one of my all time favorite old school power ballads.
The Scorpions formed in the late 1960's, but were at their most popular in the 80's. I'd read that they're the best selling band out of Germany of all time. I'd heard a rumor that they didn't understand English that well at first, so they didn't know what they were singing, but that could the wrong.
'Rock You Like A Hurricane' is their most famous song, and 'Winds of Change' was considered the unofficial anthem of German Reunification. I'd also look into 'The Zoo', 'No One Like You', and 'Send Me An Angel'. They even released a new album last year, but I haven't listened to it much. (2nd time today TH-cam ate my comment and made me retype it all!)

Scorpions are legendary band, and this is one of the best heavy metal ballads ever... If you going to do more of them please "Wind of change" first this is like historical act, really important track.

I am SO happy that you reacted to this. The Scorpions are my favorite 80's band, and they are such an enormous part of the soundtrack of my life. This music...like my therapy is literally hopping in my car and cruising back roads at night. Windows down with music blasting through the night air, washing away everything...letting it take over, letting the music elevate me to another place, a higher realm. Just letting go of everything and living in the moment, feeling the music flow through my very soul and feeling that complete and utter freedom. That is Heaven to me. Great reaction, I love the channel and your genuine personality. Its nice seeing people who arent afraid to just be themselves and who truly get it when it comes to the power of music. Much love and respect from Toppenish, WA State 😃❤️🇺🇸🤘🤘🤘
P.S.- Check out "Rhythm of Love", "Wind of Change", "Always Somewhere", "Big City Nights", "Believe in Love" and "No one like you". Just a few of my personal Scorpions faves. 🤘🤣🤘

Always Somewhere is such an underrated song, and for me, off their best album, Lovedrive, with the great Michael Schenker on guitar on 3 tracks. Every song is a winner.

Aileen so glad you've gotten to the Scorps. There are several more in their catalog for you to react to. "Holiday" is my fav, but it's hard to go wrong with any of their songs. Definitely one the iconic bands of all time. Klaus the singer is classically trained. Rudolf Schenker, the smiling guitarist, has nothing on your beautiful smile!

Have had the privilege of going to 3 Scorpions concerts. 2 in the 90s and 1 on the 80s when my big bro and friends who worked for a place called the Glen Hellen Pavillion so at the age of 12 I was able to watch several concerts during a 3 day music festival from the side of the stage which didn’t give me a good view but the sound was incredible.

I saw these guys live in Irvine, California in an outdoor amphitheater on their Wind Of Change tour. The lead singer Klaus Meine came out and said, how ya doin Irvine? After that you couldn't hear any more words he was saying over the roar of all of us screaming Scorpions fans. Hands down one of the best concerts I've ever been to in my life, they were absolutely amazing!

One of those rare bands/singers that's just as good live in concert as their studio recorded material. Would love to hear you react to some more of their songs, there are countless hits to choose from (and with 560 comments so far I'm sure most of them have already been suggested 😉)

We will NEVER have another era of music as we did from the 1960's- 1980's. The talent and song writing throughout that period was simply superior to anything that is being done today. Today, music is a throw-away medium. Then? You bought a record, checked out the liner notes and simply soaked in all of the goodness.

one of my favorite songs to sing. always gets the crowd going. You're right about the Deo reference. They called them the German Deo sometimes, though, they are greater in my mind. but I love Rock Love Ballads. Send me and Angel, Winds of Change are my other two favorite songs by them, but they have much more that others love.

And the fact that they're playing thru very high end gear (designer series Gibson guitars, English made Marshall amps, etc...) helps alot with the vibe you feel. Nothing sounds as good as the old vintage gear! Period! I would sell a kidney for Matias Jabs' Explorer right now. And yeah, bands back then fed off their audience and created a symbiotic relationship with them. Bruce Dickinson (Iron Maiden) and Gene Simmons (KISS) both said its their duty to make sure everyone feels like they are a part of the show, no matter where you're sitting. We are one, we are family.

As for the Scorpions, they were one of my faves growing up and saw them multiple times. Great energy and always sounded awesome. HIGHLY recommend their unplugged live version of their song Holiday performed in Spain, I believe. It's truly magical!

They’ve actually been around since the mid seventies but they really made their mark and got on the map at the dawn of the eighties with “No One Like You” and then really hit their stride with “Rock You Like a Hurricane”!!! You gotta check those two out 👍🤟✌️🫶
