I am happy to hear you have connected with the drawing and the subject along with the choice of music. It means a lot to the artist when there's great support from others.
O U T S T A N D I N G ! And even if a computerized program may somehow "duplicate" this work, it will never, ever, achieve the human talent behind these strokes to produce such a true masterpiece. Many thanks for sharing your skill and art.
If somebody is interested in all my artist's tools let me know, for after having watched this, I decided to give up.Simply amazing what Mr Tan achieves, no matter the media he uses. Thanks for sharing. And now, let's go to get some white pastel/chalk and try to draw on black paper, yes I changed my mind.
Just beautiful on every level! Great subject, smart lighting, elegantly simple yet sophisticated... This gentleman looks a bit like my father and the music was perfect! I felt an emotional response to the drawing. I watched the whole thing and do not regret a second! Truly fine Art Sir!
You are such an inspiration! Im in AP art right now, and my focus is on emotion using charcoal. This video really helped me with utilizing different techniques. Thank you so much, you're extremely talented!!!
wonderful to watch. And the music is perfect for it. Thank you for this very helpful demo. I bought some black paper recently, and had thought to try using white charcoal. I will try chalk pencil instead.
Thank you. If you are interested to find out the process of my thinking to compose drawings, you can go to www.vimeo.com and look for the lecture and demo videos.
Always, always your choice of accompanying music is spot on. At times it seems that you are drawing to the tempo of the music. Excellent! Thank you for your generosity of spirit.

Hello sir. I have a silly question, do you sketch the planes of the head at some point? I mean, I can see you draw the shape of the head and place the eyes and the nose within it, but I'd like to know if you construct somehow the planes of the head before you draw the shadows (in this case the lights). Wonderful portrait by the way!
