Seriously cant believe the cgi for its time. Truly a piece of art
This is 80% scale models.
In fact adam savage (myth busters) even worked on the door that gets smashed open model sfx
Fun fact the boy piloting that mech had actually woken himself up out of the Matrix and his mind broadcast a signal that allowed a passing nebakenezer to find him. When he opened his eyes neo and company were standing over him. He thanked them for freeing him and Neo informed him he actually freed himself. You can see this in one of the animatrix episodes.
If that's the case that it makes that line even cooler. It's not just philosophically "you opened yourself up to the possibility that this was all fake, thus allowing us to free you" it's literally "dang kid, good job getting out of there"
Boy am I glad The Matrix TRILOGY ended with such a great film.
Matrix 4 is good man
@@wickeddubdi33 The Animatrix? Yeah its really good.
@@wickeddubdi33fever dream movie
@dubdi33 huh matrix 4, what are you talking about ?
@@Chainrayen sarcasm aside, that whole series made me feel bad for the robots the most.
I’m glad we get to see the war play out on both sides
The humans and the machines have their own strategies
And Neo has allies on both sides even if no one knows
If the machines won, that would’ve ultimately led to their destruction. They wouldn’t been able to stop smith without Neo.
Matrix Sentinels are honestly one of my favorite movie robots/enemy units. Very creepy design and I like how their attacks are largely physical and even when they switch over to projectile attacks they have a pretty unique way of sending out their bombs (no idea how they aim but Rule of Cool applies)
They are bots. Probably has something to do with various calculations and physics and what have you. I assume they have a lot more processing on how to pull it off than us squishy beings
Not until you see the animatrix. Its so brutal mostly that one scene where the robot rip out the human from its mech
Funnily enough, when I first watched the Matrix movies as a kid, I always found the Sentinels somewhat cute
@@RoselynMapa-pw2teprobably the reason the cockpits are completely unshielded now
@@ilyte1 yup, and the fact that you are more mobile with no shields. better to have that than just delay the inevitable
Fun fact: Adam Savage from Mythbusters built alot of these props and miniatures.
*a lot
@@Ricochet1616 Are loght
I saw REVOLUTIONS in cinemas 20 years ago. This part was AMAZING 👌👌
This along with the highway chase in the second one...I can't think of any other movie I've seen in the theater since then where you could hear a pin drop
Me also, I was 13, back when the industry used to make good movies...
Same, as a young, shy teen, the whole Zion war was the first time I jumped out of my seat in a cinema and cheered
there are some movies that you would never want it to end and this is one of them
Keanu is unironically in the top ten of Hollywood.
Bro is no1
But he is not in this clip.
You mean Neo or John Wick?
*You're unironically top 10*
Amazing how far he has come. He was an unknown actor in this film and had just got his start!
- Hundreds of thousands of machines in there
- They already know that the ship is coming
- They already tried to seal the gate, so they knew it was a serious threat
- An APU is walking there
- Kills the dozen squids who are defending the gate
- Finally, a single squid tries to be a hero and save all the others
What the hell were the legions of machines doing? Did they all think "Eh, Kenny is a good squid, he got this"?
“They killed Kenny!”
“You bastard!”
Yea. You would think the machines would have sent a swarm after “Kenny” died.
my favourite part is why didn't they just pre-emptively unbolt an EMP from a ship and keep it at Zion
@@JSFofWTi don't know if they could afford to presumably, everything we saw in these movies was all of the combative resources that humanity had
Never figured out why the ships had EMPs but the city of Zion itself didn't. Those should have been as common as fire alarms.
The fact it's 2003 and the cgi is a work of art
Do you think transformers 2007 is better?
Transformers 2007 is more photo realistic. This is more artistic in terms of how they present it. The machine swarms though presumably just a rendering of thousands of the same model, are able to act like organic creatures. Giant leviathans closing in on the APUs. A big human head looking at neo
2:55 So badass… 😂😌
そうですね。
人同士の戦争においても、攻城兵器が有効だった際に行われる惨劇は常に民の虐殺でした。
If they had literally kept ONE more EMP at Zion they could have burned all the machines and the reserve machines that get sent in after this one.
Everytime I see man vs machine, I wonder how much iron and steel wasted to create large army of machine and munition
1:35 don’t worry Zelda, it’ll end all good.
3:09 *_"SRCAP, NO!!!!! ALL FORCES RETREAT!!!!!!!"_*
Idk why ppl shit on this movie. It's my favorite out of the 3
the ending was too underwhelming for the whole development of the movie
@@Jasepothe ending was fine
It’s not bad by any means, but I still prefer the one that started it all. Final Neo v Smith fight was kind of…meh.
@@alexshank1414 the composers and orchestra went hard tho ngl, only thing truly consistent throughout the trilogy
2:11 I love the saga but god how I hate that those weapons make fireworks sounds hahaha
They caught me off guard XD
3rd one was the best for me the attack on Zion was so cool to watch
2:55 when you get to the drive through and have to beat another guy to the entrance
Just had a thought while watching this clip... why didn't they build an EMP generator in Zion for a last-resort defense? Their ships have them...
But Dramaaa...
It will just just fry the first wave. Machines will send another. On the otherhand, all their turrets, scanners, coms will be down. If your're thinking about multiple emps, it doesnt work that way, you punch one, you cant use the others
The machines would have destroyed it? idk
@@caragas9331 They'd have to get to it first... put it in the center of the city, and they'd have to get a commando force in before the assault which would possibly tip off Zion if they're seen.
because it would also EMP their entire network, and the machine can simply overwhelm them with number anyway. How many EMP can you use before you absolutely get stomped
When they hit the EMP, the number of sentinels that falls down is too small in comparison to what they were initially, making their effort look too much for too little.
So beautiful movies thank you much movies wow❤😊
Man the newer APUs really had a great upgrade for open cockpit for easy bailout since the Machine war if you know what I mean...
Time is ticking
Proceed to talk about his feeling about neo
@02:20
He was confirming, he's shot. A slightly weird decision when you have this much ammo, but it would be really awkward if missed and ran out
This is year 2350 or so and they fight advanced robots with machine guns :) this movie is so strange :))
Crazy how one movie can kill a franchise
Really hated Locke throughout thinking he was going to beat the machines especially after this scene thinking that they even had defenses left standing.
Exactly! And then afterwards he had the nerve to blame the Hammer for setting off the EMP and wiping out all their defenses. He said that like if Zion wasn't already getting owned by the machines. That's a funny way of him saying thank you or good work 😒
Thanks ! Me funciona mucho para una réplica del Mjolnir. New suscriptor here!
2003년도 CG폼 미쳤다 ㅎㄷㄷ
This scene was cool 😎 👌. We're he opens the gate 3. I believe 🙏
I love how this scene was portrayed in Revolutions: Remixed. Everything that led to it
@@maxisaev568 👍
I want to watch this movie. What's the right title of this movie?
Nice 👌
I still dont know why they didnt set an EMP device inside the port.
Because it would knock out their entire defense grid. The thing keeping the main sentinel force at bay.
Remember that whole sequence where ships were trying to set up an ambush outside the city so they could use the EMP? And now they were betrayed which resulted in all the ambush ships being slaughtered?
Well, technically they did. When the Hammer arrived.
"lock that down!" as his own men get shot by their own ammunition
what if crashing through the gate like that damages the EMP 😂😂
Emp was inside the ship. It should have damaged the pilots
Kid-Jesus. I believe (shooting)
This is what cyberpunk used to be. A heavily industrial and rugged look, with wires and cables bolted on over eachother over time removing any uniformity. Not the bright, neon and holographic edgy feel of the video game.
This is not cyberpunk
sorry dude but you're wrong. cyberpunk goes back much further than the 2077 game. To walter jon williams and William Gibson and Greg Bear. It was always bright, neon and holographic. image over substance. the 2077 game reflects that ... based as it was on the cyberpunk 2020 RPG from the late 80's. the original Bladerunner is true cyberpunk .. Matrix is a form of cyberpunk as it fits the genre of future dystopian worlds but its not where cyberpunk came from and its not what cyberpunk "used" to be..
(get a copy of Hardwired by walter jon williams its AWESOME!)
@@unitedfederation262 the matrix is cyberpunk.
you mean Steampunk
It's not. It technically matches the vague definition, of a dystopia with advanced technology, but it's much more steelpunk. The 2077 game is far closer to the main idea of cyberpunk, and in any case, gatekeeping an entire style basrd on your personal preferences like OP is just kinda sad. @@logangrimnar3800
And then the Commander has the audacity to blame them.
Locke knew damn well the docks were already lost way before The Hammer came busting through. Even his advisors told him so. He had his head so far up his ass, he felt the urge to blame them for the pain the machines were giving them when he should have been thanking Niobe and Morpheus. They bought Neo more time to save Zion.
@@thelordofsalem3044 Bastard Locke still didn't believe in Neo at that point.
And then you realise the humans have been the bad guys all along and the robots just wanted to live and suddenly the movie gets a whole different meaning
But this is the story told by the machines. We don't even know if Architect is a machine or part-human

The Matrix 5 In Theaters November 2024
Would be nice
Please, don't. Since Matrix 4 (Resurrection) has led us to nowhere
Zion is hell, and the humans are the dammed. The "agents" are angels, maintaining order. The machines are the good guys
A movie from 20 years ago with so many great characters when political correctness wasn't even a thing...
Lol i was accused of political correctness back then. Look at all blacks. PC was the word conservatives used then. Today its woke
This movie was an utter joke... The worst episode of the Animatrix was unironically superior to this jumbled mess of senseless action scenes and quasi, miss-the-mark philosophy. The first film blew us away and rightfully so, it was bombastic and unique. Then every other entry was a crash and burn... hinting that the Wachowskis were little more than 1 trick ponies.
Yeah I said it. Commence the pile on.
And matrix 4?
What is your opinion of that movie?
@dariotoledo994 I don't want to make this comment too long but i think its going to happen anyway. Sorry in advance... but I have an opinion it was a cynical cash grab at every level. It's no secret hollywood is creatively bankrupt, no new ideas at all. So they wanted to remake The Matrix for nostalgia money. The director has also made no secret of the fact she didn't want to direct it and she was 'forced whatever that means in hollywood now.
The decent thing would have been for her to say 'no' and not direct it. Then the studio would have just got someone else to do it. Fine. They can do that at least she stood by her principles.
But the director didn't say no. She took the money from the studio then intentionally remade The (first) Matrix but with les effort, less passion, less energy, less care and with constant call backs some of which scream 'hey remember the original Matrix? Remember how much better it was than this garbage that I was forced to make?'
She basically sabotaged her own project which is childish. She took the money and then made a poor quality product in protest. She could have stuck by her principles and turned it down but didn't want to turn down the sweet Hollywood dollars. The actors have the same energy in the film, the performances are muted and low effort with no chemistry. They also didn't care. They didn't want to be there either. But they also got paid millions no doubt.
And you know who suffers?
The fans... the poor naive people who paid their hard earned cash thinking they'd get a return to The Matrix and their childhoods... and they got screwed. By the director. By the actors. By the studio. Everyone.
