Still one of the most unique and innovative visions of sci-fi in the history of cinema that, I dare say, has never come close to being imitated or bettered. So much other big budget stuff looks the same (especially now) but The Fifth Element remains unmatched and truly unique.

"The Fifth Element" was a great movie, but it was also a different kind of movie! I saw it when it first came out in the theaters many years ago, it has problem been over a decade or so ago. I still like it and i remember it right off the bat, like it was yesterday. It was a special kind of sci-fi movie with action, comedy, and even some dramatic moments.
I wonder about how many people understand the conclusion and what the 5th Element really is? It took me a few times watching to get it. Tbs Li lu is not the 5th element...but merly a conduit of half of the requirements needed for the 5th element to come into existance
imma jump to conclusions haven't watched the movie I'm interested now but I assume it goes, *Earth* , *Water* , *Air* , *Fire* and finally *Life* itself...but I don know just a theory
The ending of that scene never made sense to me. 1 - what was the rush? 2 - how did a couple of bullets trigger the stone wall to close? 3 - why didn't they just open the stone wall again? 4 - where was the alien body when they returned to the tomb 300 years later?
I guess they had to leave in 5 minutes or miss a wormhole. But same here such a plot loop hole and mess really. Made no sense and the body we can assume was removed by the cult protecting them so everything was hidden and covered up.
@@Techtablets Intergalactic deadline or maybe the room was automatically triggered into closing when gun fire was felt by sensors? To call that a plot loophole.... it's just lack of basic imagination.
A lot of the story is similar to a graphic novel called the Incal which was illustrated by one of the concept artists who worked on this. French artist Mobieus.
If I remember correctly, there was no return to the crypt. They carried away the sarcophagus and it was recovered from their crashed ship 300 years later (on the moon?).
Oops, you're right, they did return. I'm willing to give the filmmakers the benefit of the doubt and assume the priest, as concerned about hiding the secret as he was, returned and remover the alien's body. Maybe Aziz and his friends helped.
Interestingly, a Hollywood movie says 'only life (is) important', yet the Bible itself, in Ecclesiastes, says 'life is futile'. Makes one ponder who wrote the Bible.
In the movie, he uses the word life as everything living. In the Bible, life just means the duration of a person's existence. That's how I understand it.
Fantastic sci-fi movie. The range of characters and storyline is brilliant. Such a shame so many films think ‘woke’ first and entertainment second these days.
Making of a woman the Supreme Being that saves the world, and love the power that effects that salvation, is pretty woke. Otherwise, Bruce Willis would have saved the world by himself.

It's amazing how "diverse" 90s movies were. No quotas, no ultimatums. Just pure talent.
I saw this at the movie theater in SoHo, New York City. You hear the rumbling of the subway and it really adds such an effect to the movie!

One of the most underrated movies ever, and it's sooo good!
Hardly underrated. It was very well received in 1995, it aged well, it is not forgotten.
It is still famous in my country Korea
Do you know what underrated means? This movie was never underrated.

so the dna of the mondoshawans are still on earth ? Fifth Element pt 2 please
Una de las grandes películas de ciencia ficción. No tiene igual!
Mondoshawan gets trapped but later when they reopen the crypt there is no sign of it, did he escape or was it just poor continuity in the movie?
