  • The India-United States partnership is expected to be the defining partnership for this century and will be especially important in combining capacities towards maintaining peace and security in the international order. With India being the US’ major defence partner, cooperation between the two extends across areas like trade, defence, multilateralism, intelligence, cyberspace, education and healthcare. They are also expanding their relations from bilateralism to multilateralism, with the two being a part of the Quad, along with Australia and Japan, beside the new West Asian Quad including India Israel, US and the UAE. Post the US withdrawal from Afghanistan there could be opportunities for India-US counterterrorism cooperation to expand further. Another important arena for the two countries remains the Indo-Pacific and their quest to keep the area ‘free and open’ as well as collaborating to establish higher-quality and more reliable alternatives to infrastructure funding in the region. The two countries must also enhance their two-way foreign direct investments as they look to strengthen the Global Value Chains.
In the context of the aforementioned, this discussion seeks to bring together the five experts to discuss the recently launched ORF report: “India-U.S. Relations: Priorities in the Next Decade”.

It’s seems they have given china developing country status. Their gdp is bigger than ours at time. So stop it. Every country only cares what the corporations want. Only china and Russia do what’s best for them. Ever else selling out their citizens

This was a good discussion on the nitty-gritty of the security relationship. I'd say cyber security is probably the biggest thing the two countries can cooperate on with immediate benefits, probably more important for India. On counter-terrorism they already share information and de-radicalization mostly has dubious efficacy, so i don't see much coming from that. India has already started buying large US platforms for defense, so it is only a matter of time before private companies start forming joint ventures. Perhaps that process can be sped up with government incentives.
PS : Why are the comments so unrelated to the video ? If you didn't watch the video or don't understand the issues talked about then don't comment with some silly opinion. Disappointed with the comments, i was expecting more quality given the quality of the discussion in the video.

@@shaheedbhaghatsingh3974 India should have sided with Russia but instead abstained from UN vote, which ultimately was a vote against Russia. Ongoing in the Quad still against China because of a British made India-China border dispute. Sailing military vessel into South China Sea as ordered by the West to create another friction point with China. Buying cheap oil from Russia doesn’t give India’s recent words, although refreshing for the sake of Indian Peoples, any substance until India makes real friendship with China. We all know India-China is the main point. Any tough guy act from India towards China is ridiculous. India only does this because the West is backing these actions. Honestly, how does India benefit from any of the actions above? I’m speaking as someone who wants India to be truely independent and to get back what was stolen from them by the British.

Main reason is Indian defence budget will surpass 100 billion mark with india fastest growing GDP,. India ranks 3rd in defence budget, also India is reducing dependence on Russian military,. Us is taking it as , india is giving signals.
Also Us denied to sell military product to india ,. India went for master bargain strategy,
Then India signals that then 100 billion future defence market will belong to Russia and france. ,
Then Us changed it policies for India
