It's really something that, to me, the older these original Star Trek episodes get, the better they get. That show still holds up as a triumph for television.
That's because the writers were at their best back then . No a days were lucky if we get a good script on anything. I don't care how many awards are given out
His great acting is because, no matter the role, the viewer can always say, "That's William Shatner" instead of saying "Who is William trying to be in this role. He brings one or more parts of himself in the roles he plays even when the character is nothing like Shatner, he still can bring something out that reminds the viewer of him. I hope what I'm saying makes sense.
I recognize the actress who is in the scene with Kirk at about the 4:15 mark. Years later, she played the part of ship’s doctor on The Enterprise in at least the first season of Star Trek: The Next Generation.
0:46 only Spock can snap Kirk out of his fears 3:04 even in a computer Spock remembers his captain 😊 3:14 Spock had a pleasurable feeling hearing kirks voice. 6:05 if this isn't a #spirk moment then I don't know what is. Prove me wrong I don't care it's true 8:11 only Kirk can snap Spock back to reality 9:44 he main concern wasn't that his emotions broke through but the thought of hurting Kirk severly
Why Were The Aliens in"The Empath"so Damn Heartless,They Should've Helped Those on That Planet Without Needing Prove That They Had Empathy,They Were Just Self-Righteous Villains
i love the first clip how spock's just standing there while kirk has a mid-life crisis because he can't command the ship XD

Yup, still the gold standard 50+ years later. Universal themes, timeless stories and performances.
This is a classic panic attack. Spock's strength and self-discipline provided the example for Kirk to regain control of himself.

Fantastic display of acting William Shatner is just awesome putting it out there

She is Diana Muldaur. She played Dr. Katherine Pulaski for the second season of STTNG only, because Gates McFadden left the show for that year.

Kirk "and if in doubt....seak out McCoy"
McCoy "the fuck?!?"
Spock "hmm logical"
Just like my first and last acid trip in the beginning
"I lost a brother once, and was lucky enough to get him back." Capt James Tiberus Kirk

Yeah I had a few of those myself 😂🤪😂
What magnificent actor Shatner is, i love him though.
Good show.
The Empath. my personal favorite.
Man and this got beat by the Beverly hillbillies and Green Acres????
Some people were not ready for an African American woman, an Asian or a actor playing a Russian to not play their characters as stereotypes.
@@TheRivrPrncess sad that it's called woke now huh!!!
Well show.
Shatner's typical overacting... mixed in with some of the worst episodes of TOS. Fascinating.
Spock=Thomas Jefferson.
Jefferson wishes.
