I prefer eating at small places in Asia. I can feel the love the food is cooked with, like it passed down from someone's relative. I've never eaten something and felt like it was cooked with no care or heart.
unsettling to me that a person who so fully embraced life and lived it larger than most everyone succumbed to suicide. i get the pigeon-holed hollywood deaths, but this one strikes me. i aspire to bourdain's curiosity, wonder, and sense of adventure. rip
This one deserves to be missing. Pandesal with Nescafe at Dari creme for me yan ang pinaka Accessible sa lahat ng pinoy affordable . O kaya sinangag tuy at kamatis
It's really not that remarkable. I mean, it's basically steak and eggs for breakfast. Only difference is there's rice, but even then most Asian countries have a rice dish for breakfast as an option. Chinese, Cambodians, Malays and Thais have porridge (congee, jok, bubur etc), Vietnamese have xoi (sticky rice), Malays and Indonesians have coconut rice with various accompaniments (nasi uduk or nasi lemak). All or most of these have options to be eaten with meat and/or egg, and generally they're more exciting than just grilled beef; they have curries, spicy fried or grilled chicken, fried fish, sambals etc.
@chefwacks09 I don't see any mistake. Tapsilog is nothing to be ashamed of. If the world truly is watching...then let them see us for what we are as we are. Anthony Bourdain's show is called "No Reservations", not "Best Table in the House". It's not about the most special food our country has to offer, it's precisely those which are overlooked. Just look at the other episodes and you'll see my point.
The first time I tasted it was delicious but I had that for breakfast for two weeks! me being a Latin American was not so fun. I needed some cereal and fruits, also coffee! I needed coffee!
its not the best eatery in the philippines its just an ordinary food good for the poor people because the price is cheap so expect that the looks of the food is not impressive.... but for us like me its enough for hunger and budget friendly so cheap
@chefwacks09 Kaya nga tapsilog ang binigay ng guide sa kanya eh. For the very reason na siya si Anthony Bourdain! Kung traditional food ang pinakain sa kanya, edi nawala yung punto ng palabas. :P
Mali.tapsilog is not the main feast of pinoys during breakfast...dapat mainit na kape at pandesal ng sa ganun ay mapromote naman ntin ang lokal na mga panaderia
+Mark Gil Lalangan Rodic's can be found in UP and Philcoa. There is one in Congressional ave but it's I wasn't fond of the service, amount and all that. So UP or Philcoa, very good.
I think you have no idea what Anthony explore for. he did not explore like a tourist but to explore what is Philippines really is. and its not documentaries FYI.
I don't think there is any intrinsic problem with 'tapsilog' as something representative of Filipino cuisine for this program. I for one love tapsilog as an all-around comfort food. My only problem is the venue. There are better places for it. Maybe a home-cooked version or something. Even Tapa King (a local franchise) looks to have a more authentic feel to it, since at least their meat isn't bought at the local wholesaler for extremely cheap. Just a missed opportunity, is all.
ang tipid mo naman kuya sana dinala mo man lang sa medyo magandang place para kumain ng tapsilog at I'm sure mas masarap kaysa dyan sa place na dinalhan mo
That's basically the show mate. Bourdain goes around the world, doesn't eat at fancy restaurants but instead mingle with the locals to really get the culture of wherever country he's visiting.
Maria Kristine Dior Maria, You really have the wrong misconception, Listen to what he says on 2:37, its really good and nice to have it at a fancy restaurant but when you order from a place like this, this is what you have at your house. I agree with brokennoah, its really about being with the locals and eating the food they usually eat everyday.
+Maria Kristine Dior Yung ang dapat sa part ng show about sa pinaka-nagmula. Ang hinap kasi ay yung pinaka-basic version ng tapsilog and he's looking for the really basic ones.
Pandesal and Dairy creme. That should be our national Breakfast ir sinangag kamatis and tuyo...where in hell did u get that ..Tapsilog ???? National Breakfast??
man I should have tried that dish instead of a balut egg the last time I was in the PI. I gagged had maybe two bites of that egg-balut before I threw it in the garbage. Sometime about eating a egg with a chick-fetus that freaked me out!
ThatDudeJCrash That's "No peeing/pissing" dude. That's what it means in Tagalog. Haha...Most locals usually peeing at random places and that is why these signboards exist.
Tapsilog, one can do it at home very easily. Anthony Bourdain was really cool . The world missed him for his unique style. He was one of a kind.
R.i.p anthony..you captured the heart of many filipnos. You will be forever in our hearts. Thank you for featuring our own food in out show.
Keep traveling & having a blast wherever you may be.....
I'm not Filipino but Salvadoran, but this breakfast looks and feels familiar. Add beans to that, normal breakfast in my house.
Rest in peace chef Bourdain. It is sad that you passed away this year. We miss you 😢
We're going to miss you Anthony. RIP
Anthony Bourdain is really down to earth 🌏!!!!
This was my Sunday night show. Miss you bro
We will miss you Tony. Rest In Peace
I prefer eating at small places in Asia. I can feel the love the food is cooked with, like it passed down from someone's relative. I've never eaten something and felt like it was cooked with no care or heart.
Rest in Peace Sir Anthony Bourdain! 😢😢
Thanks Anthony for making this video. More plz!.
solid few minute scene, im surprised it didnt make the cut.
unsettling to me that a person who so fully embraced life and lived it larger than most everyone succumbed to suicide. i get the pigeon-holed hollywood deaths, but this one strikes me. i aspire to bourdain's curiosity, wonder, and sense of adventure. rip
Mental illness is as much as an illness like cancer and other serious medical conditions. It can kill you regardless of your status.
He was killed just like Epstein
I don't think It's a suicide
Television isnt reality
🙏🏽🕊️ 🕯️
Nice vlog po GOD BLESS stay safe OFW po in Saudi🥰
The reason its edited out is because of 01:07 there's a kid waving a gun around. And it looks like he has a beer too but that's just speculation.
Devontrae Walls haha yeah, didn't see that coming. he was waving that piece around like he owns the place. little dude is ghetto.
+Devontrae Walls hahaha.. nice observation.. but that is not a beer.. perhaps some kind of soda, not sure what brand.. lol
Devontrae Walls i
They could have just used the audio and not the clip with the kid. It probably just wasn't deemed broadcast worthy.
Eggs over rice and mixed with meat. Love it 😁
I thought that the tapsilog in UP COOP diliman is the best
one of my fav bfasts in manila
"This is a good hangover food"
tony: "I get that a lot"
"yeah..."
man he didn't get anthony's joke :|
I didnt get Anthony's joke either. What does that suppose to mean by the way?
meaning people always assume he's a drunkard....
oh i see. Thanks
Joshua A me either.
Anj not really.. it means.. people say that about many different food.. not necessarily at Anthony
Which pixel is Anthony?
The entire serving is small! But then I live in New York City... and our Filipino dishes, though traditional, are served in "American portions"...
of course serving is small in phils because filipinos are small compared to americans................
I love the pussilog in PI!
RIP Anthony Bourdain
Oohmami in Calgary made the tapsilog pretty! Check it out!
Eat what they eat as a way to discover, appreciate and understand unfamiliar people who are with you at the dinner table.
I miss him, rip 😢
This one deserves to be missing. Pandesal with Nescafe at Dari creme for me yan ang pinaka Accessible sa lahat ng pinoy affordable . O kaya sinangag tuy at kamatis
Tapsilog Tocilog Longsilog at Chicksilog the best. Miss ko na yun silogan resto sa Tondo....
my idol. anthony bourdain
Chades Tapsilog!! You should guys try.
Rest in peace sir anthony
Any recommendations on a Pinoy restaurant in Los Angeles Cal or OC for Tapsilog?
WHY ? Why would my idol have this deleted in his show as it was very culturally informative ?
He should have introduce the changing of names depending on the dishes. From TapSilog to DaingSilog..
Untrue...National Breakfast Should be PANDESAL, DARI CREME, AND BLACK COFFEE. OR SINANGAG KAMATIS AND TUYO
Why would they leave this scene out? Tapsilog is awesome! Maybe it was not weird enough looking to go on the air?
Because the food was ugly and he didn't look very impressed. If you watch his series you would know when he is genuinely impressed by the food.
Entertherabbithole but he liked the taste though, so why would he leave it out
Theex pendable probably because of 1:07 with the kid waving the gun in the background.

miss ya buddy
The tourist guides Misled Biurdain
why did this scene never made it through the cut?
+Xavier Mandala Perhaps because it's too generic.
+Christopher Michael Villadelgado Barredo yeah.. seems like it
kid with toy gun waving in the show 1:17
Yes, RIP..TONY

RIP THIS GUY
The first time I tasted it was delicious but I had that for breakfast for two weeks! me being a Latin American was not so fun. I needed some cereal and fruits, also coffee! I needed coffee!
lot of coffee in the PH
lol
You can always have coffee in the Philippines or water
It's different than the Latino diabetic breakfast 🍞 and coffee
I'm telling you tapsilog is delicious!😉❤
Never Kopa natikman yun
its not the best eatery in the philippines its just an ordinary food good for the poor people because the price is cheap so expect that the looks of the food is not impressive.... but for us like me its enough for hunger and budget friendly so cheap
1:07 did that kid in the back have a gun?
Looks like a gun...gun is not dangerous...some people with a gun is a danger to themshelves and other people
R.I.P my hero!!!!
exactly what you say is right!
Tapsilog is BOMB!
@chefwacks09 If it makes you feel any better, the episode that actually aired extensively covered our local food culture.
I didn’t see any yolk on the rice
@chefwacks09 Kaya nga tapsilog ang binigay ng guide sa kanya eh. For the very reason na siya si Anthony Bourdain! Kung traditional food ang pinakain sa kanya, edi nawala yung punto ng palabas. :P
i cant believe how the young man is telling the celebrithy chef how a garlic rice is suppose to be prepared. hahaha
Hindi kasi dapat niluluto all the way yung beef
Mali.tapsilog is not the main feast of pinoys during breakfast...dapat mainit na kape at pandesal ng sa ganun ay mapromote naman ntin ang lokal na mga panaderia
+Gregorio Raymundo Jr. Tama ka run.
Thanks
Kape and pandesal is not part of breakfast.
+Mark Gil Lalangan agreed. rice is the real breakfast. pandesal is the warm up
+Mehrunes Dagoth Hehe. Tama. Generally speaking, we Filipinos eat 5 meals per day.
no wait it's not boring there should be other reasons why they edit this out
why tapsilog of all food?
@annyeonghaseyoguys almost said the exact same thing until I saw your comment, gotta love philippines.
Ahh our friendly neighborhood “marites” always present at 0:30 😊
Same way you do fried rice using precooked rice
"The beef is ugly as hell" means its over cooked! 2:18
But it's delicious😍
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Americans and beef. A love story.
definitely better love story than Twilight.
The call center guy.😄
RIP
THEY SHOULD HAVE LEFT THIS SCENE IN
Everybody knows the best tapsilog is at Rodic's
I didn't know that.
+Timothy James Arambuló I agree. Rodic's is the best.
+Mark Gil Lalangan Rodic's can be found in UP and Philcoa. There is one in Congressional ave but it's I wasn't fond of the service, amount and all that. So UP or Philcoa, very good.
This is not an AD pero potek sa RODICS dapat sha dinala! hahaha nampota naman oh hahaha
I think you have no idea what Anthony explore for. he did not explore like a tourist but to explore what is Philippines really is. and its not documentaries FYI.
I grew up on this too, sans meat.
PARES @ la loma retiro st. is the best on tapsilog !!!!! like if youve been there!!!
I like to eat rice and red Filipino hot dogs
I don't think there is any intrinsic problem with 'tapsilog' as something representative of Filipino cuisine for this program. I for one love tapsilog as an all-around comfort food. Seriously, Tapsi? A better breakfast would be Goto+Tokwa't Baboy
I think Antonio was being kind.
Anthony was chill...saying meat ugly but delicious...maybe in his mind the meat is ugly and should be thrown away
Anyone see the kid waving the gun around @1:48 ?
Somewhere around there anyways. It didn't really look like a fake...but I hope it was.
got to agree with my man tony
its a sin to have ketchup with tapsilog
ang tipid mo naman kuya sana dinala mo man lang sa medyo magandang place para kumain ng tapsilog at I'm sure mas masarap kaysa dyan sa place na dinalhan mo

hindi pasosyalan ang show ni Bourdain. lmao

this guy should've brought tony to rodic's instead
Should've brought him to Vivian's
Pandesal and Dairy creme. That should be our national Breakfast ir sinangag kamatis and tuyo...where in hell did u get that ..Tapsilog ???? National Breakfast??
The Philippines episode is probably the worst No reservations episode. Whole thing just has a weird vibe.
Known dito sa US na pinatay siya ng isang politician..RIP.
Tapsilog is the best
Tagsilog looks like just a snack for americans like anthony
man I should have tried that dish instead of a balut egg the last time I was in the PI. I gagged had maybe two bites of that egg-balut before I threw it in the garbage. Sometime about eating a egg with a chick-fetus that freaked me out!
lol
i eat this everyday. but the meat portion is so small!
Should've gone to Vivian's
Tapsilog FTW!!
How many signs said bawal umihi? LOL.
Tapsilog felipino power breakfast...maybe
"The meat is ugly as hell, but it taste good"....
0:17 --|> LOL! "BAWAL UMIHI!"
What does it mean?
ThatDudeJCrash That's "No peeing/pissing" dude. That's what it means in Tagalog. Haha...Most locals usually peeing at random places and that is why these signboards exist.
What's the point in arguing? You folks don't get the point anyway.
At least powerrangersr gets it.
you have to eat with a spoon and fork
Paranaque's Maty's and Sanvi's beats Gino's tapa all day.
@annyeonghaseyoguys its a toy gun
