    This tractor brought back a lot of memories. When I was in high school in the late 60s and early 70s I mowed and brush hogged a huge farm for a neighbor during my summer vacations with a 641 workmaster. It was a great little tractor plus I made some extra money for just riding a tractor all summer. We also used it to plow, pull hay wagons, set tobacco. And it was red.

    Very nice tractor! Definitely a score! 😎👍 Hard to find in that condition, no question. I've always liked the old Fords and the early Ferguson tractors. They were simple, yet powerful workhorses. They'd handle just about any job that you could throw at them....and still make it home in time for dinner! 😄 Thanks for sharing Chad!

    Nice tractor, and good deal! I paid much more for mine nearly 20 years ago, and I had to buy chains, brush-hog, and back blade separate. The live hydraulics on the 641 will spoil you! I also have my dads 8n (which I grew up on), and I wouldn't trade or sell either one.

    Same Covid story here Chad...I went to Scotland after postponing the trip for 2+ years due to the pandemic, only to basically step off the plane into a big cloud of Covid! Save as you...fatigue, coughing, shortness of breath and flu-like symptoms for a few days. Three weeks later still have a lingering cough and easily fatigued but otherwise OK.
    Love the Ford tractor. As you know, an 8N featured in my video "The Greatest Tractor Photograph Ever Taken"!

    • @PurpleCollarLife
      @PurpleCollarLife  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Chris - I actually recorded this video a few weeks ago. I'm having the same experience as you. I can't get rid of the lingering shortness of breath and cough. After about 3 weeks, I'd say I'm only operating at about 50% capacity. I find that if I overdo it, I'm down for the next day or so. It's difficult to not be able to get the things done I want to, but I'm hoping that a little more relaxing in the evenings and weekends will let me get back to normal.
      I do remember the greatest tractor photo ever taken! :)

    Great video of the tractor. You can look on the left side on the transmission on the flat spot above the two bolt holes. I have a 1955 650 Ford tractor. I would not take anything for it. My tractor is blue with gray fenders. I found out when the tractors was new the dealers painted some blue so they would look different and draw attention & sell faster. I have seen several blue ones. I have pulled mine in tractor pulls & slow tractor races. I got fluid in front tires. Mine weighted 3,536 lds. Good luck & can't for the next video.🚜👍

    Nice tractor, I have a 53 golden jubilee and a second jubilee or NAA from 54 love the old Ford tractors I use them to farm 5 acres of grass hay and Tedder,rake and bale it using these 2 tractors. I have a few videos on my channel of me using these tractors to farm some hay, but I’ve been too lazy to buy some of the 3M GoPro mounts to where I can stick them directly on the tractor while I’m driving around or on the swath or baler. I’m sure you’ll be very happy with it just like I am with mine. It’s hard not to when the things will run forever with simple maintenance.

    • @Machi74005
      @Machi74005 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I grew up operating an NAA. I know the NAA's were built in 54 and the Jubilee's in 53 but other than that what was the difference? Seems like I remember draft control on the lower right under the seat on the NAA.

    • @DaveofAllTrades75
      @DaveofAllTrades75 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@Machi74005 the only other difference I am aware of other then what you posted is the Golden Jubilee has the high low sherman transmission in it so it is 8 speed forward and 2 speeds of reverse where as my 54 naa is only the 4 speed forward and 1 reverse. I am not an expert on these tractors, so I’m not sure if you could also get the Sherman high low on an NAA or not but that’s the differences between the two that I own Anyway.

    • @PurpleCollarLife
      @PurpleCollarLife  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I didn't realize you had multiples of the NAA/Jubilee. These old tractors are amazing. Their reliability, history, and the amount of work they've accomplished - it's fun to think about.
      I use a rubber coating magnetic GoPro mount, so that I don't have to put the adhesive on the tractor. amzn.to/3LqJJ3m
      You'll love being able to get video from different places on the tractor.

    • @PurpleCollarLife
      @PurpleCollarLife  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't think there are differences between the 1953 Jubilee and the 1954 NAA - other than the official Golden Jubilee grille badge. But I'm not positive.

    I just picked up a late year 1957 Ford 640, one of the last of the 600 series sold in 1957. Someone replaced the hood with one from a 601 Workmaster. The Workmasters should be all red with light gray grilles and fenders. Your 641 looks to be painted with the lighter blue from a Fordson Dextra or Fordson Major.

    • @PurpleCollarLife
      @PurpleCollarLife  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for watching! I agree on the blue paint, it looks like the Major color to me. Slightly different than the 2000 series blue. I was thinking about taking it back to the original red - but I will probably leave it as it is.
      Congrats on your 640! I look forward to getting more time on the 641 in the future. I can already tell though that it's got significantly more power (and weight) than the Ford 8N I'm used to.

    • @PurpleCollarLife
      @PurpleCollarLife  ปีที่แล้ว

      You did get a great deal! Those are original Ford front wheel weights. They're cast weights, split (two pieces) that mount inside the front rims. They are extremely hard to find. If you can find them and they're anywhere under $150 - it's a good deal.
      They do make it nice to have some additional front weight.

    • @PurpleCollarLife
      @PurpleCollarLife  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@OutdoorsInTheOzarks You’re correct. But it is an industry term for careers/jobs that combine white collar work with blue collar work. For example - engineers that design at the computer, and then machine and build the components they designed. Or Information Technology personnel who manage a network both in software, and physically running Cat 5 or 6 network wire. Purple Collar is that combination of both white collar skills and work, with blue collar skills and work. Why did it become known as purple collar? I have no idea.

      Hello - Great question. It's not live PTO. It is live hydraulics. In other words - the PTO does not have to be running for the 3-point arms to lift. BUT- the clutch does still engage the PTO with the engine. (not live pto). Thanks for watching!

    What was the difference between the Jubilee and the NAA?

    • @PurpleCollarLife
      @PurpleCollarLife  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great question! The NAA and Jubilee are the same machines. The Golden Jubilee is actually the first year of the NAA tractor (1953) , marking the 50th anniversary of Ford. So any 1953 NAA is a Golden Jubilee version. All other NAA years are often still called "Jubilee" tractors, but technically only the 1953 is the Jubilee model with the Jubilee badge.
