From headlining entertainment acts, to interesting new products, and of course delicious fair food, the OC Fair is one of my favorite events every summer. Forget your diet, this is the place to indulge in funnel cakes, barbeque, and of course bacon. The OC Fair runs from July 14-Aug. 13 in 2023. Chris, thanks for the live stream, I was surprised that the crowds were so low. Years ago, the first hour was free and in one hour, 30k filed in. It was a mess. Now with having to pre-buy your ticket, no walk ups, it has changed the size of the crowds. That is a good thing. Enjoy your BBQ sandwich.
Thanks Fritz! Yes. The free opening hour admission used to draw huge crowds at opening time. Now not so much. It'll be busy in a few hours

i cant imagine the heat there today. i am in so cal and im avoiding this fair like the plague due to the heatwave lol There isnt a lot of shade there either
My tip is go at night. Get there at 7pm and it's relatively nice 😀

Hi Chris. PLEASE HELP!!! Brutal and honest opinion only! If you had to stay between the Hampton inn Glendale vs Hampton inn Hollywood or Holiday Inn express Glendale or maybe the more expensive Residence inn Glendale? Which one would you choose? Planning to stay 4 days in 1 hotels. Don't want to check in and check out. Planning to visit Day 1: Madame Tussaud, Dolby Theather, Walk of Fame, LA Brea Tar pit Griffith observatory. Day 2 Beverly hills, Rodeo drive, Hollywood tour. Day 3 Universal Studios all day. Day 4 Santa Monica Pier and Venice beach. Thank you.
Me personally I'd stay at the Residence Inn Glendale
having been to both LA and OC, i find that LA is 2 times bigger with a lot more attractions but the OC is more chill and less crowed. it really depends on what type of mood you are in and the experience you want.

DelMar Fairgrounds is a bit bigger and a LOT more crowded
Some unique things! Does CA do a State Fair? MN State fair is gigantic- you should check it out - always 10 days & ends on Labor Day.
California's state fair is much further north, in Sacramento

What was odd was that the LA Fair was the first one this year, when most years it used to be in mid-August to mid-September, after SD Fair and the OC Fair
Yeah. They moved the LA Fair officially to May. I think they decided it was too hot in September when it used to be

This is a county fair
The California State Fair is up in Sacramento and is usually in September…not as impressive as either this fair or the earlier (and similar) SDCounty Fair that’s held in early-June to early-July
