You look/sound familiar (Sanspotter is that you). The Moana Surfrider is a great resort with wonderful staff. If you ever get a chance, book a tower room, ocean view.....it's beautiful. If you haven't stayed at the Royal Hawaiian just down the street, try that one as well. Another gem.....
I stayed at the MS a few years ago, and it is highly overpriced and overrated. It's interesting from a historical perspective being the first hotel in Waikiki and being centrally located. We stayed in the historic building and our best view was out a tiny square window in the bathroom overlooking Diamond Head while on the toilet. I remember how mad my partner was at the time but now I just laugh about it. Needless to say, won't be staying here again. And yes Scott, just like us, you made a lousy choice...lol.
not worth the price, you gotta have the beach view and the room is so ordinary, maybe a 1000 a day at Turtle Bay Resort in North Shore Oahu or the Lanai Island at Four Seasons
Your missing the best hotel in hawaii with out al the $ your paying. It's the kaimana beach hotel at diamond head. With it's own beach. Nobody from kansas stays there!!!

SANspotter confirmed lol. Anyway, thanks for the tip! I'll probably stay at the Royal Hawaiian next time.
What a video to find as I follow sanspotter
Keep up the good work Scott!!
Haha, you’re the first to find me! At least the first one that I know of lol
How much???
Is that bed the 400K bed from Sweden made from horsehair, wool , silk and other luxury springs
Probably not lol but it sure was comfy.
how is the noise at night having a city view?
Extremely loud up to 10 PM. After that, it was very quiet all night (until about 7 AM).
Ask for room 513 for smaller but very nice.
is it haunted?
@@ReynaldoAbasr not this week
Does it have that mildewy smell that comes with historic room
No mildew (or dead body) smell at all!
How much for the room???
I paid $312 for this one night stay- which was the cheapest rate I could find.

I'm not ready to give up on it yet - I'll bet the fancy rooms are baller AF lol
The toilets alone make the diamond or tower worth the upgrade.
Dang it, now I gotta try that. Next time!

I like the location - and it's one of the quietest hotels in Waikiki if you get a room facing the ocean.
walk on the ocean- Toad the Wet Sprocket@@scottleazenby

Sounds like I've got another hotel to check out the next time I go to Oahu...
This is named after Moana? The movie Moana? I'm not seeing anything Disney or Moana. Very disappointing.
I will pass on this. Thank you for sharing.
Are you really serious with that question? This is the oldest hotel in Waikiki, built in 1901 many years before Walt Disney was even born
@@kimmylebagge974 Thanks. This hotel isn't what I'm looking for.
@@alankovacs7636 Thanks for the info. It is not a place I am interested in.
