Oh my goodness, Pam, that postcard is from my neighborhood growing up in Detroit!! Three Mile Drive was one of the streets between my house and the high school I attended (Jared W. Finney High School). I lived on a nearby street in the 5000 block, and that postcard was addressed to the 4800 block of Three Mile Drive, which was only about 1/2 a mile to the east of where I lived! Boy, THAT brought back some memories! It truly is a small world.
Laudanum was a form of opium (opium and alcohol) and was very addictive. It was used as a pain killer, but could also be overdosed on quite easily. It has been used through the ages and I came across it reading about Victorian times.
As an alternative to washi tape for repairs, I've fallen in love with fascimile old yellowed cellophane tape. Looks authentic too if it's a vintage-inspired journal.
Thank you for always being so encouraging and fun! I get so many ideas & so much inspiration from your videos! I have found a great many items in my house that I didn't even realize I had, that were great to add to a journal - thanks to you! These finds add so much more character and interest to journals, rather than pre-made, store bought things. It really makes a huge difference, and makes the result a true expression of the person who made it - more like a real work of art, instead of just a cookie cutter copy of someone else's work. I love it! I've been seeing things everywhere that could be a craft supply now - like the slips of paper in fortune cookies, price tags from clothing, all sorts of packaging, old books & magazines and even candy wrappers! I found some great vintage recipe cards and a box of old math flash cards at a thrift store - those will become pockets or some sort of ephemera - and I never would have given them a second look before I subscribed to your channel! You are doing such a fantastic job, and I just wanted to tell you how much I appreciate it :D
Hi Pam, you are so fun to watch and learn from. My favorite thing about your classes is you make making a journal seem okay for a beginner to make. Your videos made me make my first junk journal years ago. Now a friend of mine who was gifted a journal from me made her first journal. She had so much fun she’s making journals for Christmas gifts. 🎁 keep up the great work, your happiness is contagious ❤😊😊😊
And the way you create, decorate and fill any JUNK JOURNAL is amazing.. You are so talented and I just love spending my time watching you make these beautiful creations.. You are so talented and I love spending my 45 minutes to one hour learning from you... Thank you for all you and for putting a smile on my face with each and every video that i watch..
Good morning Pam. As usual, I’m finding all kinds of prompts from your video. You come up with the greatest paraphernalia to put in your journals, things that I would never think to use! Thanks so much for the ideas. and taking time to spend with the rest of us outposters.
Hi Pam and Sunny. I am just putting the finishing touches to my final journal for the year. It's an ordered journal that will be given as a Xmas gift. I am very happy with the way it came out. Thanks for the hundreds of ideas I got for this journal from your videos. Couldn't have done it without you. Have a happy crafting day 💞
Good morning crafters! Hope everyone is well! It looks like the journal is almost done! I’m looking forward to our next project! ❤ to sweet Sunshine! Tyfs!
hey could someone tell me about the lifetime ephemeral and sock art that the paper outpost mentioned ... what was the name of it? I am thinking of ordering
Gd morning Pam and Sunny 😊 I was curious if you make any journals for yourself or do you sell them all? I know you have shown us your trunk of journals 😅
Pam.. when creating your hidden paperclips.. would you suggest the small or the large clips ?? I am wanting to mass make a bunch of hidden clips but not so sure what size to make ?? Do you have a preference ??
Question: I've been busy with family medical issues for the past few months and I'm way behind. Is there a playlist for this journal? Or can someone tell me when Pam started on this one? Thanks in advance......
Good morning Pam. Yes laudanum. Old time medicine that was used for everything. It was considered a wonder drug. I watched a show recently where the lady used it for bad nerves and allergies! (Because a lady shouldn't sneeze in public. 🤪) Of course they also thought "snake oil" a wonder cure...for everything. 😂
Hi, Pam. I was so excited when you read my comment last week! I'm such a dork!!!😂 Once again I am listening to your podcasts and you said to store your books in an air-conditioned area. I live in Alberta, Canada and I'm wondering if I can store excess books in my storage shed off my deck in my apartment. No mice and they would be Rubbermaid totes. Thoughts?

This journal is looking good Pam, will it be offered for sale? Hope so, would love to get it, if I'm quick enough, ha ha
The card is from Peter Vos. He was a Dutch illustrator. Beestenkwartet is still available. It is a card quartet.

Look forward to flipping through your journals with you, gives me inspiration what I can include in the one I'm working on❤Best Wishes❤

I practice doodling, not bad, then when I doodle on a “real” page, it is a necessity to cover it up with a tuck, lol ~ practice practice practice 😅
