I play this game waaaay more than Skater XL. It's so fun & eases the mind with their music or yours in the background. Just seen on their account they're adding spitfire wheels. All I rode when I skated was 8.25 decks, independent trucks, bones or spitfire wheels, black magic or mob grip tape, shorty's hardware & red bones bearings. I skated with grind kings, ventures, tensor but indies are my top fav.

I skate 60mm Rictas irl and the difference is incredibly noticeable! 78a durometer makes them soft beyond belief, hence their name: “Ricta Clouds”. Anyone who hasn’t tried them, I’d recommend it
I only recommend the Ricta Clouds 92A though if you still want to do plenty of tricks on your skateboard. For just cruising around rough city surfaces, then yes 78A is a knee saver. For tricks though, it's too sticky.
at 04:56 , the darkslide you were trying to reproduce for longer distance; on first darkslide, I notice your weight is more on the tail and center of deck whilst it's inverted than the subsequent/following /shorter distance darkslides. if you go back & listen even the sound between the two darkslides are quite different. The longer had less griptape grind noise than the one's you pulled after it & that were shorter. Also, fwiw, after rewind-playing over n over , 👀your character's hand movements even slightly reflect the difference between the way you had feet( weight being applied )on the longer DS than the shorter ones ....I dunno how, but you had yourself touching less grip tape that first long darkslide. I thought I would mention
Haven’t known that much about session, but it amazes me how realistic it is. I have 2 board set ups and one of them has the ricta cloud wheels. I thought they were the lesser-known wheel, so I just thought about how realistic this game was. Might buy it too
It’s so fun n realistic compared to other skating games it’s totally worth it I’ve put so many hours into it and I’m still constantly learning new things and making new lines the new update is super nice the new board mechanics are great and the fact they collaborated with TMNT and made the whole dlc free is so🔥 u could really tell they care about their game and their players
I have to admit, I was a bit sad when I realized that as long as you're using the huge riser pad and high trucks, the setup doesn't make a real difference. It would be cool if before heading to a vert park, you could go to your apartment and pick a wider deck and stuff, but nah, dude can nollie laserflip on flat using a 10" board no problem. And setting your settings to mimic a wider board for vert skating sucks. My workaround for now is having 2 setting profiles saved, one for "normal" setups and one for wide ones, with the wide ones flipping slower, not popping as high, etc. etc. All other settings stay the same, so I can very quickly change the advanced settings from one profile to another when using a gigantic deck
Really like this video and the research you did! What I am stil wondering though, do trucks change anything when doing primos? I mean, I once had an 8,5 inch board and trucks that did not match the width and it was impossible to stand on the side 😅
Yes, it does also affect Primo a bit, but it just tilts till the board and wheels are both touching the ground. Doesn’t really change how far you go tho. Decided to leave out the experimental features like Casper and Primo cause they don’t work properly
Thanks for clarifying! It also does not change the way your skater stands on it visually? I mean, having trucks 2 inches wider will make your primo, well... a bit... slanted I suppose :p
Yeah it changes the way your skater is on it, well the ankles are more tilted. But no matter what you’ll be standing on it. I just tested the smallest board with the biggest trucks and the only difference was board tilt and ankle bend, everything ankle Up was the same :p
I must admit that you make me a bit curious on how that will look, guess I'll also have to buy those set-up for myself! 😄 Anyways, thanks again for creating these videos, I enjoy them and they have been of great help for my gameplay and my montages! 😄

if you do a quick/low pop kickflip you can notice a difference with the wider and narrower boards. I'm able to do a low kickflip with a narrow board since you don't need much pop/height and then vice versa
i feel like the stats sliders should be tied to parts, so like ricta clouds increase wheel grip, decrease pop height because theyre bigger and increase speed, and then bigger boards decrease flip speed but increase drop height etc but still have it so you can change the sliders, maybe the parts increase or decrease whatever your sliders are set at
@JLNightmare whatever default is for big drop, but I know I do often reset immediately when I'm hunting for a trick. It's not a game ruining annoyance for me yet, just something I've noticed. Is it because, 4GA is still pretty permissiv or is about the 'no matter the shape of the board' effect (like with a bigger board it would have looked like more legit slide)???? If you happen to know.

Perfect, here’s the fix. Go to Settings, Storage, Saved Data, Session: Skate Sim and delete player inventory. Restart the console and you’re all set. You can do the story again to get more money by creating new skaters in the apartment (new skaters start new story)

If you’re on Auto catch, you need to have Continuous Flip turned On, then you hold the flick input to keep the board spinning. You let go to stop the flip. If you’re on Manual catch you just need to flick fast and let go of the flick input so it can keep spinning. You’ll flick back foot up to catch and stop the flip. If you’re having trouble getting it on flat ground, you can either boost your Max Pop Height, or boost Flip Speed in the advanced settings.
You can manually bring the board back to your normal stance by rotating the sticks after the powerslide. From sticks inwards or outwards position, rotate back foot Down and front foot Up. Alternatively, since this is actually an issue with the Front/Back foot gameplay inputs specifically, you can change your gameplay inputs to Left / Right Foot so you dont have to manually control the powerslide as much.
Soo it seems like you’ve encountered the Locked Shop glitch. If you’re on PC: Close the game, then go to this location in file explorer: %localappdata%\sessionGame\Saved\SaveGames *Copy and paste that location in the top Left bar of the File explorer, NOT the Search bar* Delete the PlayerInventorySaveSlot.sav file thats located in there. If you’re on PS4: Go to Settings, Storage, Saved Data, Session: Skate Sim and delete player inventory. If you’re on any other platform you’ll have to delete the entire save data.

Why don't series x/s controllers work that well on session xbox one controllers using them on next gen version are better
I swear the bigger the board the slower it flips
IRL yeah, but in the game it was the same :p
"whose really gonna noseslide like i did" this guy...this guys typing this.. :D
Well shit I’m throwing risers on and my setup will be flowy af!!
Thanks!
Board size does matter just depends on your settings (flip speed, scoope speed) 👍
Is board size not changing flip speed due to both flip and spin speed set to auto in the vid
Ie if there both set to manual it would change with size
Setting flip to Speed or Directional input would only change the flip speed based on your input, not board. The input needed to stay consistent for the test.
@ZillaTheRipper using the advanced settings completely voids the test. Having everything set to default should make it so the only variable is the board (or whatever item I’m testing). If you have to use the settings to make a difference in flip speed, then it has nothing to do with board shape, which further proves the point I was making :p
Very true have tested this myself hopefully in the new update things will feel a bit smoother very tempted to see trucks sparking at night on a long grind hopefully in the future doing manuals we can pull back harder and brake with the tail bring tail savers into the game 👍
Sad when nba 2k is the best modern day skateboarding game out right now, this is trash and skater xl is even worse
Yeah I would say so
There is 7.0 boards in session
Yeaaaah I thought there was but could find it while recording so I thought i was mistaken and that 7.25 was the smallest haha oops
So bigger is better in Session
anyone else having trouble with tricks not registering?
You’ll have to be more specific with the issues you’re having
ofc board setup matters. it’s a skate sim
You must not have watched the full video ;)
hard game with hard contols
Good job 🍒😃
For anyone interested, Here's my Session set-up: Heroin Curb Crusher 9.0, Striped MOB Grip, BONE Green Deck Rails 1/2 RiserPads Grind King Spark Truck Mid149 & O.J. Erick Winkowski Tropics 53mm. I have noticed 2 things actually outside of my board graphic getting scraped up beyond recognition: Jack & Shit & guess what? Jack left town on a bus!
they need to make ALOT of changes not just animations etc for this game to actually feel realistic tbh its a bummer because i have almost 500 hours in this game and i just wanted the game to succeed but not they keep pushing updates back and getting animators that they fire after a day or two......
Agreed. A ton of changes are needed. Nacon coming into the picture was Sessions biggest downfall and with Nick and Mark leaving the direction the game is going just doesn't seem as promising.
@@ultimatenirvanatribute yeah right as nacon came into the picture everything got slower, updates get pushed back multiple times! like idgaf about gear get a damn animator switch to UE5 and add all the tricks, they gotta stop experimental bullshit either give us vert, transfer, grab tricks, primo and caspers fully in the game or not at all i dont need experimental shit that only works half the time
I love this game, but I usually just stick to my actual skateboard setup in real life as close as I can.
This video was completely useless
I guess i gotta give it more time but man i dont like the animations on this compared to modded xl
lol i skate the fattest boards on session
That 10.0 egg board is insane haha
