    A man has been charged in connection to an attack against a mother as she breastfed her baby in a parked car along a busy Vancouver street Thursday afternoon.
    The mother, her husband, their infant baby boy and another family member were sitting in a vehicle on Commercial Drive, near East 2nd Street, when a stranger opened a door and entered the vehicle around 2:15 p.m., according to Vancouver police.
    The stranger reportedly tried to grab the mother and the infant in the back seat.
    As Andrea McPherson reports, bystanders were quick to intervene and the arrest was caught on video.

    After 3 years of accelerating crime in BC, I find it very insulting that you ask if people are "feeling" safe! We have been FORCED to adapt. He will be back on the street in a couple of hours.

      What you need is a government whose though on crime and judges who doesn't allow bail for these kind of people.

      We’re so lucky at how little progress there has been to deal with this opioid and mental health crisis…..that’s not to suggest the police are not doing better than we could hope for, but maybe we need to start doing something differently.

      About a week ago in Edmonton, I met a woman who strongly suggested I should buy a harness for my child to attach it to my body to make it difficult for someone to my 7 year old. At the time she was homeless and on the verge of getting an apartment. She also told me 3 men tried to drag her sister into a car at night and two nearby strangers saved her. I agreed with her advice and I got a really sturdy one that attaches to a belt around my waist. I don't care if people think it's weird.

    I certainly don’t feel safe in Kingston , Ontario. There are lots of people on drugs, some of them homeless. I don’t go out after dark and am watchful in the daytime. People who say they feel safe need to rethink, especially after this incident. The world has gone dark.

  • @FleurPapillon
    @FleurPapillon 21 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

    I feel unsafe. When I walk down commercial drive, homeless men shout sexual things at me. One time, a guy followed me while talking about me sexually. There's been other bizarre incidents as well. People wrote death threats on a Rape Crises shelter store front, and nailed dead rats to it. Another man was walking down the street, topless, rubbing his nipples, and telling little girls about nipplegasms. People called the moms prudes and Karens when they asked for help.
